3 comments about Standard Catalog of Chrysler, 1914-2000 (Standard Catalog of Chrysler).
- The information inside this book are great for reference and cross reference. Not much in the way of pictures but it catalogs the history and the working parts of the cars.
- Okay for general information. Covers too many years for details about any one model or year.
- A great resource with almost TOO much info to devote alot of print to each car. Lists production numbers, and brings back alot of memories. For having so many models, the book does quite well. Also, nice histories of each Chrysler brand, incl DeSoto, Eagle, and Imperial. Lots of pictures of just about every car listed.
I recommend it as a great overview of Chrysler's developement.

2 comments about The Nethercutt Collection: The Cars of San Sylmar.
- My father and I just got back from visiting The Nethercutt Museum. The book does a great job of bringing the museum home with you. If you can get to the museum you can pick up a copy of the book at the reception desk for [money]-a bargain.
- For the first time, all of the automobiles in the Jack Nethercutt Collection are pictured in one book! This book exhibits all the characteristics a book on automobiles should have. Using it's horizontal format to great advantage, photographer Dennis Adler displays all of the cars in all their glory. Mr. Adler understands his subjects and each photograph shows exactly what the viewer would wish to see. The text is short, concise, and highly accurate. Due to space limitations, there is little technical data. This is not missed. Also touched upon, are the Nethercutts' collection of mechanical musical instruments-- pianos and automotive mascots. This book has my highest recommendation and exhibits better photography and more taste than some books costing many times over.

5 comments about Standard Catalog of Ferrari 1947-2003.
- While I do think that this book has many great pictures of beautiful Ferraris, I find it lacking in the technical data it attempts (extremely poorly) to present. Many of the production specifications do not even match data published by Ferrari itself. Some of the dates of manufacture for certain models are inconsistent as well and do not account for many of the major modifications that certain cars underwent as they evolved. Just to pick one, the car I am most familiar with-the Ferrari 456 has a starting date of manufacture that is both correctly (1992) and incorrectly listed (1995). There were 3 evolving versions of the 456 that were produced over the years, each improved version replacing the previous one. The original 456 (mentioned only as a footnote), the 456 GT (which appeared in 1996, not 1995), and the 456M GT, which began production in 1998 and is not directly mentioned in the book anywhere. The 456 debuted in 1992 and is not mentioned until the 1995-1996 section of the book and is then presented in this section as if it were a new model, incorrect. Technical data is also sloppy. For instance, the Ferrari 456 GT (the only model directly mentioned in the book) is listed as being outfitted with a 5 speed manual transmission (the manual transmission option offered on the 456, 456 GT, and 456M GT has always been 6 speed, this is true for ALL year models). The book also makes little distinction other than cosmetic improvements in the transition of the 456 GT to the more refined 456M GT (it does not even mention the 456M GT distinction anywhere). For the 456M GT, the engine was retuned to increase brake horsepower (bhp) from 436 to 442 (an improvement which stayed with the car until it was discontinued in 2003 and is not reflected anywhere in the technical stats of the book). I am only listing verifiable inconsistencies for ONE car mentioned in this book. Based solely on these facts alone this book is reduced to a well thought out picture history of the Ferrari line. It should not be utilized as a technical reference tool (as the author clearly intends it to be) for any specific model as nearly all of them are also riddled with similar errors.
- the book is generally perfect for knowin about ferraris but its not high quality book...
if you wanna know about ferrari dont hesitate to buy it..
- This is an excellent companion to the standard catalogue series.
- Mike Covello is a real car guy and a Ferrari owner. He loves the marque and his passion shows in his writing - I follow his work as a regular contributor to Auto Week and Forza Magazine. Yes, this book does have a few warts probably the result of time pressure, the difficulty in confirming details and simple human error. But it's still one of those "must have" books that Ferrari fans need on their book shelves. I have a signed copy and consult it when I need to understand the differences between the many confusing (to me) models. This book is priced well and rich enough in detail to make it a worthwhile investment.
- this book provides great pics of ferraris, and gives a good historical backround about enzo. it also has stats of all the cars. but it is missing some models and some of the data is wrong, it could be better but it is a cool book.

2 comments about Standard Catalog of Chevrolet 1912-2003 (Standard Catalog of Chevrolet 1912-1998).
- There are errors in data, for example the vin breakdown on 1970 Camaro incorrectly states that the six digit is the assembly plant. There are others as well. The previous edition was more accurate.
- I like Hot Rods. Many are made from the oldr chevs and fords. There are so many old ford hot rods that I have learned some of the body styles for the pre-50s models. With Chevrolets I needed help with models prior to 1941. This publication is a wealth of information on all the models, their features, motors, horsepower and how many of each were built.
Not a novel, but a great reference.

2 comments about Ford in Miniature.
- Lots of color photos featuring high quality 1:43 scale models. Every hand-built manufacturer is here. Brooklin, Motor City USA, Western Models, Provence Moulage, CCC, Conquest, BBR. Does a good job of illustrating why 1:43 is mostly a "gentlemen's hobby." These models aren't cheap.
My only complaint was that the author devoted a bit too much space to the crude one-off models from obscure builders like J Rettig and Enchantment Land Coachbuilders. I would much rather see multiple photos of one of Motor City's masterpieces than have it share space with some converted 1/43rd-ish toy covered in sloppy chrome foil. Yuck.
The only error I found: The 1964 Ford Country Squire on Page 64 is a plastic slot car from Ideal's Motorific line - not an AMT kit.
- Collectors of model cars prefer to spend their spare cash on model cars, not books on model cars. I can understand their priorities, but in the case of "Ford in Miniature" they really ought to reserve a few dollars for an exceptional book that puts an important part of their hobby in perspective - 1:43rd scale handbuilt models of classic American cars. Randall Olson displays a knowledge of Fords and handbuilt models like few others with a stunning array of color pictures and loads of inside information. His book will surely become a standard work for the model collector - at least for that discerning collector who is willing to spend a little on books on model cars, and not just model cars.

3 comments about Standard Catalog of Mustang 1964-2001 (Standard Catalog of Mustang).
- No matter what year model mustang you own/like you will find the information on them in this book.Color photos of each year model with details like colour codes, options lists, engine codes and many other details will help you learn more about your favourite Mustang's.A reasonable guide to Mustang's.
- This was an amazing book for knowledge on the Mustang from beginning to current production years. Each year of the Mustang is listed separately with full color pictures, production details, color codes, model year changes and more. Brad Bowling definitely knows Mustangs inside and out. Very well organized by year. Definitely worth the money to buy online. I couldn't find this in the stores locally.
- If you love the Tang like I do this book is all you need babe. It has all the goods and then some. Buy it, read it and love it just as I do.
