1 comments about Ship Models: Their Purpose and Development from 1650 to the Present.
- Now this is not only a coffee table book and a great reference material, it is a collectable in itself.
Finally, quality photographs of the best ship models ever made, and still on public display in the UK. I have looked high and low for a book of this quality, and it was worth the price. It also contains a comprehensive list of the ship models held by the National Maritme Museum in Greenwich, UK, and the purpose and history of ship models through out the ages. In particular, it gives the ship modeller a fresh perspective on different types of models you can achieve, and how striking effects can be achieved with half models, frames, dioramas, cross sections, single cannon pieces and other unique items. Remember, Great Britain was the dominant navy in the age of sail, and their museums hold the best records of those ages. Add this to your wish list, and if you can afford it, buy it and display it for all to see.

1 comments about Nautical Antiques: With Value Guide (A Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- Nautical Antiques is a book of well described excellent photographs by an author whose qualifications are that he observed ships from the dock as a child. There is little history, context, significance or scholarship provided. See American Nautical Art and Antiques by Jacqueline Kranz (1975) for the opposite of what little Robert W. D. Ball has given us.

1 comments about Cut & Assemble Classic Sports Cars: Full-Color Models of the Jaguar XKE, Porsche 911 and Six Others (Models & Toys).
- This book is not for preschoolers, but for experienced model builders. The author, an artist, drew accurate illustrations of classic sports cars, like the Triumph TR4 and MGB, among others, in two-dimensional form with the intention of people carefully cutting out the drawings and assembling detailed models of the cars. Steering wheels, seats, and so on are represented in the convertibles. Very detailed and authentic, and only for the careful.

2 comments about American Carriages, Sleighs, Sulkies, and Carts: 168 Illustrations from Victorian Sources.
- Today no family establishes itself without getting a van. But over a hundred years ago, the family had carriage or waggonet.
A well illustrated little book. Most informative on the pre-motor technology of horse drawn transport. I found it a joy to go through.
A must for anyone interested in this period.
- This book is a nice reference for anyone with an interest in common types of American Victorian Coaches.
I found it very informative with a clear line drawing of each coach included description of the item, some history, information on the maker, and some historical data to indicate what the use was. The clear black and white drawings are supplemented by plans and by photographs where available, which helps to give a feel of the scale of the vehicles.
I was very pleased to find that not only was information on colors included but they were careful to indicate how many horses pulled the vehicle, and show pictures of the shafts as well as the vehicle.
Generally if you're looking for a simple pictoral reference to show you what these vehicles looked like, and/or gain some feeling of the color and history, you'll be very pleased.

3 comments about Standard Catalog of Mustang 1964-2001 (Standard Catalog of Mustang).
- No matter what year model mustang you own/like you will find the information on them in this book.Color photos of each year model with details like colour codes, options lists, engine codes and many other details will help you learn more about your favourite Mustang's.A reasonable guide to Mustang's.
- This was an amazing book for knowledge on the Mustang from beginning to current production years. Each year of the Mustang is listed separately with full color pictures, production details, color codes, model year changes and more. Brad Bowling definitely knows Mustangs inside and out. Very well organized by year. Definitely worth the money to buy online. I couldn't find this in the stores locally.
- If you love the Tang like I do this book is all you need babe. It has all the goods and then some. Buy it, read it and love it just as I do.

2 comments about Carriages and Sleighs: 228 Illustrations from the 1862 Lawrence, Bradley & Pardee Catalog.
- This would be a good book for someone that was only interested in carriages. We were looking for information on sleighs and the book proved to be a great disappointment since it only had three illustrations of sleighs. The title is very misleading.
- Includes a wide variety of carriages for all uses, all presumably once available for purchase. Also includes catalog descriptions of each model, somewhat useful in learning about features on each item. Illustrations appear to be stylized a bit, very attractive. No photographs. The best book of its type I have seen so far.

2 comments about Beachcombing the Pacific.
- Although Amos Wood acknowledges the casual beachcomber as someone who decides to explore the hide tide line on a spontaneous Sunday afternoon, this book is written for the more serious seeker of odd objects that wash up on the Pacific shores. He explores basic techniques - where and how to look for items, clothing and gear necessities, the type of objects you're likely to find and which are valued most highly, safety concerns, and a breakdown of the coastal areas and their best beachcombing opportunities. This book not only covers the American west coast but includes the Marshall Islands, the Canadian coastline, Caroline Islands, and the Hawaiian Islands. He supplies roughly sketched line drawings of the strongest currents and how they hit the land. The black-and-white photographs give the book a dated feel, making it seem written much earlier than 1987. Still, the information is good and helpful for anyone wishing to embark on a serious beachcombing hobby.
- If you have an interst in beachcombing, then this is the book for you! I started reading this book the moment it arrived in my mailbox.I couldn't put it down. The author did a great job of describing the in's and out's of this subject, with many stories as well as tips and tricks to improve your chances of Sucess in the pursuit of this pastime. He has stories and great photographs ( black & white ) of the places he has beachcombed, and many recomendations about how and where to find the good stuff. From Alaska to South America as well as many other places in the Pacific ocean are covererd in good detail. This would be a great book for anyone visiting the coast or living there.
