5 comments about The Tyler Wentworth Fifth Anniversary Album.
- I have just recently begun collecting these dolls and their clothes. I love miniatures and the detail that goes into them when they are done to scale, use quality materials, and there is attention to detail. This doll has all that. I have Barbie dolls from my childhood and the first clothes offered for that doll had style and quality --- the later clothing line didn't come close. Mattel now makes a Silkstone line of Barbies for collectors that has that quality back.
Tonner Doll Company has had the quality in the doll and clothes since it's inception. The doll and clothes are to die for. Such detail in material, buttons, zippers, lining, etc., makes for beautiful clothes for the doll. And it all goes with the doll's story line - The House of Wentworth - a fashion designer company. I now have three Tyler Wentworth dolls (blonde, brunette, and red head), Tyler's sister Marley, Tyler's boyfriend Matt O'Neill, and a Sydney Chase doll (of the Chase Modeling Agency).
This book explained the doll's story well, introduces you to her friends & associates and displays the doll's clothes beautifully. I truly enjoyed this book!
I enjoy collecting these dolls and displaying them in their different outfits. I highly recommend this book (and "The Robert Tonner Story" book) to all Fashion Doll collectors and especially for Tonner Doll Co. doll collectors too! Enjoy!
- This is a wonderful coffee table book loaded with great photos of Tyler, and her story. I love creating outfits, and having a fashion book filled with creative, gorgeous outfits that work is stimulating. Plus, sharing the book with my little friend who just loves to look at the dolls and clothes is a treat.
- I don't collect Tyler Wentworth dolls but still loved the book. Lots of good pictures.
- I find this book indispensible when trolling eBay for Tyler and family outfits and accessories. There are wonderful detail pictures of the outfits and dolls and special editions. The pictures show you what should have come with the doll or outfit originally. It provides edition sizes too and has saved me money by preventing me from bidding on partial outfits or dolls that are incomplete or have been modified. I have worn this hardback just about limp but it has such a strong binding and good quality paper that it is still stout. I wish Tonner would do a similar book for the Brenda Starr series when she has her 5th anniversary with Tonner.
- As a collector of Robert Tonner dolls, this book is a must have as a wonderful reference and history of his dolls. Photographs are gorgeous and wonderful details. I highly recommend this book and Amazon has a wonderful deal on it. This book is first class just like the Robert Tonner doll company!!! A++++++++++

4 comments about Pinball Machines.
- which is OK, if it's clearly labelled as such, which this book is not. The cover also implies that it's up to date to 1999. It's not. There are only a handful of machines from the 80's mentioned and absolutely none from the 90's (which is the peak era of pinball as far as playability goes.)
- I was checking this book out at Borders. Its really acollection of artwork from pinball games organized by theme (cards, pool, "vacation" - which includes sports like skiing, etc). Not much info here and your not even sure if the prices are for the just the backglass or the whole game. The prices were way too low I thought compared the action Ebay's coin-op auctions. Ugly book with cheap feeling paper...
- I was really let down by this one -- the title of the book is quite a misnomer.
If you're expecting detailed pictures of backglasses, playfields, cabinets, and rulesheets, you're out of luck. This book contains only pictures of backglasses and partial backglasses. An occasional playfield shot is thrown in now and then, but there aren't enough to be useful. OH, and I should mention that more than half of the pages are in BLACK AND WHITE, making the pretty colorful backglass artwork boring to look at. The book gets two stars instead of one for the index in the back. It's nice to now have one place to look when I want to find out what year a particular pinball was made. In future editions, I would love to see the index in the back expanded to include rule cards and trivia. Maybe a current price guide also. But most importantly, I'd love to see a crisp top-down picture of the playfield for each machine as well as the backglass. All in full color, of course. This would be an invaluable tool for techies trying to piece together several old ratted out machines into one good one. Sorry, but as a pinball/video game collector, I can't recommend this book.
- This book has alot of pictures and drawings of pinball machines, categorized by subject. There is also an excellent index in the back that lists pinball machines in alphabetical order by the name of the machine. Quite enjoyable.

5 comments about Flea Market Fidos: The Dish on Dog Junk and Canine Collectibles.
- Such a fun and witty little treasure. If you love dog collectibles and vintage treats, this is the book for
you. I received it as a gift, and have been giving it
as a gift to all of my fido friends ever since.
- This book explored the 'types' of canine collectibles one might find in the marketplace, but it didn't address the 'value' of these collectibles, which would have been much more insightful. The content was purely fluff with little substance to offer a true collector.
- I just purchased this magical book. I couldn't put it down. The photos were amazing and the writing was so clever and unique. Each page brought a new smile and warm feeling. I am going to order one for each of my friends and family. I can't think of a nicer gift to send someone than this special book. In my home, it's my other "best friend ".
- Dog junk and canine collectibles haven't received their own collectibles guidebook before: enter Flea Market Fidos, a unique guide to canine collectibles which covers everything from dog drawings, to crafts and stuffed animals. Besides history and values, Flea Market Fidos also covers the best shops, flea markets, and web sites for locating canine valuables.
- What an adorable book! I received it as a gift yesterday and I just couldn't put it down. The photos are great, the writing is comical and its a real feel-good book!

1 comments about The Teddy Bear Men: Theodore Roosevelt and Clifford Berryman.
- The Teddy Bear Men: Theodore Roosevelt and Clifford Berryman by Linda Mullins is a great book that I found hard to put down before reading every word and experiencing every picture. I find my joy and enthusiasm for this book overflowing into my conversations and e-mails.
The book delightfully combines teddy bears, political cartoons, and history in pictures and words. Although the intent of author Linda Mullins in writing this book was not to write a biography of either Theodore Roosevelt or Clifford Berryman, there is enough biography information included to bring their personalities and character to life and give perspective to the book. Clifford Berryman is described as "one of the most thoughtful and constructive political philosophers of his day". Berryman possessed the unusual ability to achieve "satire that never left a scar" in his political cartoons. He is best know for his political cartoons of President Teddy Roosevelt with his trade mark teddy bear in them. President Theodore Roosevelt is described as " a boy who grew up to be the man of his dreams". The association of teddy bears and big game hunting with Theodore Roosevelt is well know. The author traces the development of Clifford Berryman's cartoon signature, the Berryman/Roosevelt Bear, and discusses the public love and acceptance of this delightful little bear and the fascinating association of teddy bears with the lives of both of these great men. The copies of Berryman's cartoons richly enhance the experience of the book as do the teddy bear illustrations. The Teddy Bear Man: Theodore Roosevelt and Clifford Berryman by Linda Mullins is a "must have" addition to the collection of any collector of political cartoons or teddy bear lover. Researching students will find the book a good resource for human interest to include in term papers on either Roosevelt or Berryman and related subjects.

1 comments about Official Guide to LGB.
- Aside from some small errors and a missing index, this book is the definitive guide to LGB. A must have book for anyone who owns or collects LGB engines and/or cars. A very well written narrative accompanies each description. This book is timely and well done. Highly recommended!

2 comments about Greenberg's Pocket Price Guide Lionel Trains 1901-1999 (Greenberg's Pocket Price Guide Lionel Trains).
- I thought this reference book was great. It gives you a ton of information that is helpful when buying used trains. I wish it had more pricing categories.
- This book is great for realistic market prices. It has two price listings one for good condition and one for excellent for Postwar and Prewar and excellent and new for everything after 1969. Every listing is in numeric order with era it was made and even list special club cars but no prices

3 comments about Collecting Star Wars Toys 1977-Present: An Unauthorized Practical Guide (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- Overall, I'd give this book very good rating (three-and-a-half stars... but I rounded up to 4). It was fun to flip through, and includes a nice sample of full color pictures (including several that may be difficult to find elsewhere). It also shows you a sample of items from a wide variety of categories. It is very heavy on figures (a plus), and also covers a wide variety of other items including plush toys, glasses/mugs, games, cereal boxes, cards, comics, and even stained glass sun catchers. However, the book is not exhaustive/comprehensive in any one area. For example, it doesn't show you every vintage figure ever made... or the various card variation. Nor does it show you every vehicle or playset ever made... or their boxes. The same is true for comics, cards, etc.. Further, there is NOT a lot of information/text/description. Finally, there is a picture of a 1977 Luke figure with a BLUE light saber very early on in the book (this really bugged me, and unfortunately made me question the accuracy of some of the other pictures). Overall, this book provides a nice overview of Star Wars collectables (i.e., if you want to know a little about everything, this may be the book for you). It would also be a good backup book if you already have a good primary source on a given area. However, this book is not for the person who wants in-depth information/photos from any one area (i.e., if you want to know a lot about JUST cards, comics, or figures, there are probably other books you might consider buying first).
- I really should not review this book because most of the stuff photographed in it is mine. But I saw this book and loved it so I will share a little bit with you. This is a really great book with a large varity of Star Wars Toys and other Star Wars items. The pictures are all in color and very large. Every toy with the exception of 4 from the original Kenner 3 3/4 line are displayed in the book. Most toys from the new line are displayed also, along with everything from cereal boxes to the command tower swing set. This is a great book to use as a referance for collectors new and old.
