1 comments about Warman's Farm Toys Field Guide: Values and Identification (Warman's Field Guides).
- Borderline useless.Waste of money.
Heavily biased toward John Deere. The important Case models are ignored completely.Even for what is advertised as a book that cannot be all,to all;it falls short of expectations.
Regarding the price at Amazon,Overstock is cheaper. And lower shipping to boot.My mistake, twice.

2 comments about Schoenhut Dolls: A Collector's Encyclopedia.
- I have a large web site celebrating carved dolls with several web pages about Schoenhut dolls. I use this book as my main reference for Schoenhut dolls.
I love this book. Carol's method of presenting the dolls by Schoenhut model numbers has changed the way modern doll collectors refer to these dolls. Now a collector might state, "I have a 316 in mint condition". Thanks to Carol, others will be able to picture her doll clearly in our mind. Carol's stories about the Schoenhut family members and each of their very active involvement with the toy company puts a very personal slant on the history of this family oriented company. It should be obvious from this book that the Schoenhut family took great pride in producing the best quality, durable dolls and toys because they loved children and enjoyed the great fun of watching children at play. If you collect Schoenhut dolls, then you really NEED this book -- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
- I just love this book. If you collect Schoenhut dolls (or just one) you need this book. Beautiful photos of rare dolls, in depth history of the company, descriptions and examples of the the different models.... just a joy to read and look at.

2 comments about Barclay Toys: Transports & Cars, 1932-1971.
- I believe that this book will be the one people will turn to to get valuable info. on the Barclay Transports & Cars. It must have taken the authors years to compile all the information in this book . If you collect Barclay's then this is a must have book .
The book starts you off with a brief history of the Barclay Manufacturing Co. and as the book progreses through the pages it gives up more and more detail of every known Transport and Car . The book is very well layed out with it's easy to understand no. system . For easy reference it has lots of color pictures to refer to .
Thank goodiness we have people who are wiling to do the work involved to compile such a book and get it to this high level .
If you don't have this book then you are at a disadvantage .
Loved It !!!
- I found this book highly detailed and very very informative. The authors not only did an excellent job of clearly explaining the differences between the 4 basic styles but showed all the many many colors , shades and tints .I especially liked and found interesting, all the little notes and stories of the background of how and why some of these changes came about. The high quality paper and clear photos make the pictures jump out at you right off the page. The photo effectiveness really shines thru, when it came to showing all the various tints and shades of the same color. The pictures were not only close and clear but very vivid. I especially liked the authors simple, straight forward and very effective way that they cataloged these various changes. This easy, open ended system, allows more additions to be included later when they are found. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. Kudos to the authors, for taking, what had to be a huge amount of man hours to bring this much needed book to the next level . I predict this will be the Barclay " bible " for identifying the small Transports.

5 comments about Flea Market Fidos: The Dish on Dog Junk and Canine Collectibles.
- Such a fun and witty little treasure. If you love dog collectibles and vintage treats, this is the book for
you. I received it as a gift, and have been giving it
as a gift to all of my fido friends ever since.
- This book explored the 'types' of canine collectibles one might find in the marketplace, but it didn't address the 'value' of these collectibles, which would have been much more insightful. The content was purely fluff with little substance to offer a true collector.
- I just purchased this magical book. I couldn't put it down. The photos were amazing and the writing was so clever and unique. Each page brought a new smile and warm feeling. I am going to order one for each of my friends and family. I can't think of a nicer gift to send someone than this special book. In my home, it's my other "best friend ".
- Dog junk and canine collectibles haven't received their own collectibles guidebook before: enter Flea Market Fidos, a unique guide to canine collectibles which covers everything from dog drawings, to crafts and stuffed animals. Besides history and values, Flea Market Fidos also covers the best shops, flea markets, and web sites for locating canine valuables.
- What an adorable book! I received it as a gift yesterday and I just couldn't put it down. The photos are great, the writing is comical and its a real feel-good book!

1 comments about Pedal Cars: Chasing the Kidillac (Collectables).
- This is a big, beautiful, hardcover book that traces the history of the pedal car a.k.a. the "junenile auto". It is authored by a woman who married into the Garton Toy Company of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Garton was one of "the Big 4" in the manufacturing of pedal cars. The book begins with an introduction on pedal cars followed by a chapter on the Art of the Juvenile Automobile, highlighting the careers of the various designers and what inspired their designs. There are four chapters on each of the prominant pedal car manufacturers (Garton, Murray, Gendron, and AMF/BMC). And finally two chapters on collectors and collections. The last chapter contains a source page (publications, places, events, etc.) The text is interesting and informative, however, its the color photos (aprox. 550) that will make your mouth water. If I had to choose one book on pedal cars, this would be the one.

1 comments about Toy Soldiers (Forbes Collection).
- Award-winning creative director and veteran writer in the realm of collectibles Richard Scholl presents Toy Soldiers: A Century Of International Miniatures, a dazzling study of the Forbes collection, an assemblage of more than 10,000 toy soldiers amassed by world-renowned businessman William Forbes. Full-color photographs of the pieces, and descriptions of the sets' history and how Forbes acquired them fill this captivating "must-have" for toy soldier enthusiasts. Toy Soldiers' flawless, visually impressive and narratively engaging presentation elevates children's playthings to the level of collectible sculpted art. Also very highly recommended is Richard Scholl's companion title drawn from the Forbes collection, Toy Boats: A Century Of Treasures From Sailboats To Submarines (0762418788, $12.98).
