5 comments about Fashion Doll Price Guide Annual 2000-2001.
- The book is complete, that is; you should be able to find whatever you are looking for back as a reference for numbers and years but the values mentioned are extremely high. Just follow on-line auctions for a while and you know that the "real life" values are.
Almost text only. You cannot use this book without a picture book to accompany it.
- I really enjoyed this up to date price guide. The first few days I sat w/ my pink highlighter and outlined my collection, much of it was within these pages. Loved all the pictures!

- Since buying this book, I have referred to it many times. If you are a Barbie collector or trader this book would be very helful. I use it everyday for just that reason. The pictures in the front are great. The large price guide section is as well. Not only vintage & comtemporary Barbie's but many accessories & other items. I was happy to find a section on Gene dolls, which I am just becoming familiar with. Very happy with this book purchase.
- Sure, there are prices for just about every single Barbie item every made, but it's much more. This book is very helpful in looking up what item goes with what outfit, the year it was made and the stock number/name. The photos are very helpful to clearly identify which doll you are looking at. I especially like the price guide for the individual vintage accessory pieces. This year Gene and other fashion dolls were added too. Knowledge is power. You can't know too much about your hobbie/collection.

5 comments about Beanie Mania II: The Complete Collector's Guide.
- This book is filled with all the information you will ever need to know about Beanie Babies. This book covers all of the very rare & retired beanies which are the most valuable today. There are pictures of every tag generation made prior to the publication of this book - including each version of the tag. If you are a beanie collector & you have the earliest beanies made . . . this book will help you to determine the value, the rarity & the authenticity of your beanies. It is a MUST HAVE for anyone needing to know the facts about beanies. These authors have compiled the best & most thorough research available to date on beanies!!!
- I thought the book had too much information. Most of the information was outdated quickly. The book was too expensive also.Didn't have many pictures.I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you want to read boring information.
- This book was just as good, if not, better than it's counterpart the first book, Beaniemania. I highly recommend buying this book!
- I loved it. It had proto-types and every bit of info possibl
- I really enjoyed this book because it was something I could just sat down and read, with knowing all of the words. I advice any body who LOVES Beanie Baby to buy this book. I can not compare this book to any other book because it is just a GREAT book.

2 comments about Collector's Guide to Tinker Toys.
- This very enjoyable and informative 205 page, Tinker Toy guide book contains more than 400 large, full color and black and white, sharp photos that collector's will be sure to enjoy. Even those who aren't true collectors will find this book informative, and enjoy memories of days gone by. In addition to the great photos, there's plenty of information included and excellent descriptions of items. Prices are provided, but they're 1996 pricing. Every type of Tinker Toy is featured, ranging from Action Toys, Art Sets, Bead Toys, and Construction Sets, to Quester and Playskool. There's plenty of box photos and advertising pieces. There are nice sections featuring items by years. This is an outstanding reference, certain to be enjoyed by collectors.
- After finding several boxes and cylinders of Tinker Toys I needed to find out how much they were worth. A collector friend of mine suggested this book, and after purchasing it, it was worth it. It had every item that I had and then some. It gave prices for each, and a picture for most.

1 comments about White Knob Wind Up Collectible Toys: An Unauthorized Collector's Guide for Identification and Value (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- Before l discovered this book, l was completely unaware of the term `WKW' and had no idea that it referred to toys that l once owned as a child. I'm sure most of us at some point in our lives had a set of plastic windup chattering teeth, a walking robot or a hopping frog. If that toy was wound by a short metal rod attached to a small white knob then you to owned a WKW - White Knob Windup. As Mr Birkenes points out in his book, many of these toys were (and in many cases still are) available for a few pence. As such, collecting White Knob Windups is a fairly inexpensive hobby. Inexpensive that is until you discover that there be as many as 15,000 different designs out there. And believe me, if you become hooked you will want every single one! (The White Knob Windup book illustrates around 350 different WKW's).
If you love toys and have a soft spot for the weird, wacky and tacky, then this book is one that wouldn't be out of place on your book shelf. It's perfect for anyone who loves childhood nostalgia, toy design and pop culture icons (and not forgetting the all important `how much? - l used to have one of those' surprise factor when you see just how valueable some of these 3.5" high plastic toys can be). This 80 page book is packed with (albeit slightly rough) photos illustrating toys made by some of the big toy names such as Tomy, Galoob, Bandai, Mattel and Russ (to name but a few). There are toys relating to Animals, Vehicles, St.Valentines Day, Robots etc., and even a bunch along the lines of those novelty chattering teeth that l mentioned earlier. Many of these examples however, are for new or fast food toys. And to be honest, some of the price guides are little off the mark and much of the written information can certainly been seen as lacking for someone who claims to have been collecting since the late 70's. Yet, (at least for this reader ) all of the `could be improved upon bits' are readily forgiven in gratitude for the one thing that this book has proved, and that, for me, is a `kick start' into a hobby that l am just passionate about, collecting White Knob Windup toys.

2 comments about Pedal Cars.
- Pedal Cars is literally "mind candy"An inescribably delicious feast for the eyes and the mind,(and the lover of the unique within us all)! The photographs, renederings, and adverts are par excellence. The printing is lavishly well done in extremely clean and magical colours. The photographs of children proudly seated in their autos are priceless.I f you wish to enter the realm of the authentic pedal car, and also a tour of American Childhood Nostalgia,I urge you to purchase this book immediately!
- Mr. Bloemker's journalistic approach favors detail and context over mindless hype. It's refreshing to see Pedal Cars -- largely ignored by many antique buffs -- covered in such a comprehensive manner. Highlights include the pre-world World War II era, with excellent detail on American National, Garton, Steelcraft and other top manufacturers. AMF's 1960s era heyday is explored thoroughly as well.
This book is a fine resource for the seasoned collector and beginner alike. There are excellent illustrations and photographs, with plenty of personal insights from some of the genere's most prominent collectors.

4 comments about Slot Car Bible.
- This is one of 3 books written by author Robert Schleicher. This title covers advice on building cars, race tune cars, driving techniques, building scenery, organizing races, etc.
This book has several b&w photos but they should have been colour.
For anyone starting out with Slot Cars this is the first book you should consider.
- If you have caught the slot car bug, this book should be a must have to get you up to speed. It has a nice selection of track designs that span across all current track manufactures(There is also a chapter for those wanting to create permanent tracks).
You can tell Robert Schleicher has been active in the hobby since the beginning. His descriptions and writing style are easy to understand. As well as up to date.
He goes into custom modification of tracks, and is appropriately detailed without boring you into a coma.
The only ding that I can give the book is it's frequent use of black and white photographs. The book uses heavy, quality paper throughout. All color pictures would have been nice.
Good book. Well worth the price
- This is a very well done book on the slot car hobby for the beginner, novice and advanced enthusiast. I particularly found the information on various track layout designs, car tune-up and custom car building to be excellent. This book focuses on 1/32 scale and provides limited HO scale coverage. It has rekindled my interest in the hobby.
- This is a must have . If you are an avid slot fan or have ever owned slot cars you will appreciate this book. Robert did a great job....
