2 comments about Barbie the First 30 Years 1959 Through 1989: An Identification and Value Guide.
- I've had this book for years and look at it often. the European dolls pictured are not seen in most other guides . I wish some of the photos were better and that the color was more true to life in them but I can't fault her research or her doll knowledge. I don't know this author like I do Jim or Michael or Joe so this is a legit review and not done out of kindness but the guys i mentioned are top notch too and don't need friendship reviews either
- There's not a lot of printed information in this book, it's mostly pictures, but I absolutely LOVE this book. The pictures are great, & they come in handy if you need something to refer to, say for auction information (buying or selling). I highly recommend this book if it's pictures of vintage items you're after, you won't be disappointed!

3 comments about Standard Catalog of Farm Toys: Identification and Price Guide (Standard Catalog of Farm Toys).
- This was a helpful book for husband who wanted to assess the value of some of his old farm tools.
- This is a good reference book with pictures and prices.
- My first farm toy was my dad's Product Miniatures Farmall tractor and wagon with McCormick-Deering decals. It was his as a child and has seen its share of play. That toy was also my inspiration for the improvements included in this 2nd edition.
In creating the 2nd edition of a popular title, the most important considerations for an author are the needs of the audience. I consulted with farm toy expert Kate Bossen and other enthusiastic farm toy collectors to make this edition more comprehensive and easier to use. It contains more than 1,800 new listings and several hundred new photos bring the grand total to well over 5,000 photos. And the positive reactions from collectors this year made our efforts worthwhile.
This book is a must for farm toy collectors who like their toys in green, red, and every variety in between. Like the dedication says: "This edition is dedicated to all who participate in the farm toy hobby, to everyone who remembers that first toy tractor, and to everyone who still has that first toy tractor."

3 comments about Barbie: What a Doll! (Tiny Folio).
- I am almost 14 and i love collecting barbie i always look at this book because it one of my favorites
- The book is divided in ocassions, and the fashion that barbie has for each. I has both modern and vintage fashions. But it does not give the name of the fashions or the dolls in the pictures, so if you like it and want to find it , you can't. And in some vintage outfits I saw accesories misplaced or missing. All the book is pictures (well taken, bright and beautiful ones). The introduction is "barbie" talking.
I would not recomend to buy it, it has no purpose, if you like a fashion you have to buy another book to identify it. It would have been great if the names for the thins where given.
- This comprehensive book of Barbie's outfits is fun to look at, and I couldn't put it down for hours. If you enjoy fashion, you will never put this book down. This book is well-organized, with sections for evening wear, casual wear, etc. If you love Barbie, I really recommend this book!

5 comments about Care Bears Collectibles: An Unauthorized Handbook and Price Guide (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- Firstly, this is not a book done by an expert or advanced collector (for proof, type in the authour's name, and you will see she has penned more than 50 books on collectibles.) In fact, there are several items in this book -including a My Little Pony play set!- that have been mislabeled as Care Bear items, as well as various home-made items being considered on par with factory made items.
There are many photos of items in less-than-pristine shape, not to mention the photos aren't very professionally done, leading me to conclude this book exists merely because it's filling a niche that should have been filled by a proper Care Bear collector and expert. Lastly, don't even expect this to give you accurate lists of what is out there - it's essentially just a hodge podge of photos of a Care Bear collection, and I may add, of nothing terribly rare or unusual. A cursory glance at eBay will yield better photos and rarer items than this book will. But, there's nothing else that I know of out there, so if you want a Care Bear collectibles book, you are basically stuck with this one until something better comes along.
- I bought the Care Bear book mainly to see what else was available besides just the plushes and posables, however, when I went to look at the minis---there are none of the Care Bear Cousin minis pictured or even mentioned! I know the pics come out of a private collection but a mention of these would be helpful. Also, there was not info on all the posables' accessories! There was no mention of the British Bears or the ultra rare Care Bear Cousins. Prices were not too terribly out of line in comparison to what I have sold items for in the past. On a positive note, pics were nice and the author showed lots of neat Care Bear items.
- I just want to say that I think it's about time someone made a book about Care Bear collectibles. I have been a huge fan of the Care Bears and the Care Bear Cousins for a long time, and I'm glad someone finally made a book with buying info about the Care Bear collectibles. I've been wanting to buy Care Bear collectibles for a long time, so I'm really glad I can finally find out how to buy them.
- This book is the best ever! Don't listen to "rainbowdragon" about not containing the right price! The author said "Prices may vary".This book contains over 500 color photos about Care Bears.Hurry! Get a copy while supplies last!!! I really enjoyed reading this book because I have always loved Care Bears and I love to learn about them!
- This book is very well done. It is extreamly accurate and has helped me through some hard times selecting how much to pay for a bear. It's a great book for Care Bear Collecters both Young and Old.

1 comments about More Board Games (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- Board games are fun! They continue to fascinate players and collectors alike, long after their lives on toy store shelves, and their appeal is rapidly growing. Demand for games has increased worldwide, with the growth of the internet fueling the collector market. This completely new book presents over 1100 new color photographs of your favorite board games, from Battleship to Monopoly, and from Air Mail Pilot to Zap!. It includes an informative text, more vintage advertisements, and current market prices. There is a special chapter on Remco Industries, which had a small but sought after output of games in the 1950's and 1960's. MORE BOARD GAMES continues where the author's first book, BOARD GAMES, left off, and should ideally be used together. They are sure to satisfy the game-playing appetites of collectors, dealers, and enthusiasts everywhere.

- Can't imagine why any collector and lover of fine dolls would not love this great book.
I can't say enough good things about Carla Cross' Crissy Encyclopedia. Not only is this wonderful book a sturdy hardback edition, Carla's professional writing style will delight seasoned collector's and "newbies" alike and seems to speak most to that little girl in us that first loved and cherished our dolls in childhood. It's diametrically different from the "other Crissy book" so try it out! Carla is an very accomplished author in many fields, and her work is a refreshing change from those "I, me ,mine" typical vanity-press publications. You'll love it!
- When I buy doll collector books, I try to make sure they have everything I need to know about the doll in them. Sadly, such was not the case with this book. It had many nice pictures, but as far as being complete and usefull, I'd say it leaves much wanting.
- Hi - Wanted to clarify a question on the Green Eyed Velvet. Some Velvet dolls had Kerry - colored (or other) green eyes substituted in the factory, in place of her usual purple eyes. It is not unheard of for a company to, very occassionally, substitute a different item during the manufacture of a doll. But it was a very rare occurrence, making the doll a rarity. This is what makes collecting fun! On the other hand, many Velvet dolls had eyes that oxidized to a greenish color, but when plastic eyes oxidize, the color is never uniform and the color is not a true, vibrant green - like Kerry's. To determine whether a Velvet's eyes are oxidized green, or are a true factory sbstitution, the eyes has to be taken apart and cleaned. If the eye remains green after cleaning, it is a true factory substitution. The oxidized eyes will become purple again after cleaning. There have been Velvet dolls who's eyes have been taken out, cleaned, and found to be genuine factory substitutions. These are the dolls that the book refers to. Thanks to the Expert that had the question - Carla Marie Cross
- This is truly a wonderful book for any collector to own. The photos are sensational and the information far reaching. It has many hi-lights such as personal stories, redressing hints and fab M.I.P photos which clearly show all original accessories. It also shows the back of the original clothes cards with the kicky illustrations that had young children clamouring for more. The warmth and humour that flows thru this book is indicative of someone that truly loves and appreciates these dolls and not that of a megalomaniac who thinks they have the only information in the world. This book is a must for any collector.
- This book has absolutely beautiful Crissy family pictures. I think a new collector would be in awe and an established collector would be keeping their wish list growing! Filled with interesting information too!

- This book delivers exactly what it promised. It could have a little bit more information since it was similar to a reproduction with updates of a book from the 70s.
- I use to buy all the Graham's books and I'm always very satisfied. Great pictures, many interesting details about the firm and the models,so I can state that he is the best writer of models book and this book too desereve great interest from ani model collector.
