5 comments about The Complete Encyclopedia to Gi Joe (Complete Encyclopedia to G. I. Joe).
- At first, I only wanted to see the new figures. But then I looked at the 60s figures and wanted the 40th Anniversary sets. I agree, the "prototypes" were fake but the book was still good. It is the only book I read. A great edition to your collection. Buy and Enjoy!
- This book for some reason includes re-creations of proto-types. How do you recreate a prototype? Sounds like a dumb idea to me. ...I don't know, but I liked the book mostly because of the interesting photos of GI Joes, and the information that it added to what I already know. The parts of the book (like the value guide) which I thought were garbage I just skipped over. There are lots of entertaining photos in the book, and interesting information too. Is it some kind of Collector's Bible for GI Joe? No, I don't think so.
- While Santelmo's book is valuable for all the interviews with early GI Joe creators, collectors who have not had experience handling rare items can be easily misled by the many photos of so-called "prototypes" which were "re-created" for the book. Because the "re-creations" are not clearly marked there is significant concern that when these surface in collecting circles they will be thought authentic because of their association with the book. The price guide is also virtually useless as it undervalues some very rare pieces and wildly overvalues some more common ones. Buyer Beware!
- This book rocks! I can't say enough good things about it. Very well put together and great pics. It makes me want to get my joes out of the attic.
- While some hardcore collectors and professional critics have found some small points to pick at in this book, most reasonable collectors will find it to be just what it purports to be: A very good standard reference guide to one of our all time favorite toys G.I. Joe. So find a comfortable chair, turn off the TV, flip open the book and get reacquainted with a old childhood friend G.I. Joe.

5 comments about Collector's Encyclopedia of Barbie Doll Exclusives and More: Identification & Values (1977 to 1997).
- I have looked at many many books trying to find one that would help me to easily identify Barbie. Well folks, this is it! The pictures are wonderful, brightly colored and large enough to see detail. This is a "Must Have" book if you are a collector. (or if you buy used dolls to make up an OOAK) Well worth the money spent. I highly recommend!
- This book is the most wonderful Encyclopedia about Barbie dolls. It has so many dolls listed with descriptions, prices and pics of the dolls in their boxes. Many pink boxes, OOAK Mattel dolls and collectibles. Pictures are nice, they are from the doll in box, and there are closes on some dolls.
If you need information on Pink Boxes, this book is the best!!! There are a new version 'cos this is not updated, the dolls showed ends on 1999. There are no 2000 dolls or 2001. But there are a second edition, so search for the new edition!
- This book was very informative regarding dolls and values. I wish it would have had more of the "Special Edition" models and values though. Lots of pictures that are a good size for viewing and easy to see.
This book is put together very well, the index pages in the back make it easy to locate the dolls that you are looking for. I am a beginner and this book was very helpful for me to put a value on the dolls that I already have.
- I just received the COLLECTOR'S ENCYCLOPEDIA of BARBIE by JMichael Augustyniak. I thought I knew a lot about the value of eachdoll, I sell them and buy them regularly right here on amazon.com auctions. However, I opened the pages of this book and it is fantastic and a must for any serious collector. All the photos are in color, by date, series, it is all in this book. You will be amazed that some Barbies are valued in high 5 figures! I'm so glad I have this reference. Everyone who is interested in Barbie should! END
- Maravilloso libro ! , poseo la 1ra y 2da Edicion, y son fabulosos, fotos hermosas y claras, muy bien las descripciones de cada muñeca...,Gracias Micael Augustiniak ! desde San Luis ,Argentina RITA REVUELTO

1 comments about Tonka.
- I enjoyed the large, clear photos of the toys and the historical information that is presented in this book. Mr. Laumann is a former Tonka employee and must have an impressive collection of toys and memoribilia given all the credits he receives in this book. This book was a "walk down memory lane" for me as my mother was employed by Tonka Toys for 24 years, only ending with the plant's closure in Mound MN. Baby Boomers, take a look at this book--I'm sure that the photos will bring back memories of a sunny afternoon outside with your favorite Tonka toy.

3 comments about Warman's Lionel Train Field Guide: Values And Identification (Warman's Field Guides Lionel Train 1945-1969: Values & Identificatio).
- When I first received this book I almost sent it back..its so small. I'm now glad I didn't, It's the book I look at most often. I also take it everywhere I go, It almost fits in your pocket
- Quite useful for a quick check. Very useful for on line auctions to see if more investigation needed.
- This guide has everything in it that a collector of Lionel's postwar trains might desire - descriptions, values and best of all color PHOTOS! Though not as detailed as the Standard Catalog of Lionel trains upon which it is based, it non the less includes locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars, accessories, sets and catalogs - it even lists Lionel HO production.
Though format is a bit different, but can be slid into my pockets - though admittedly I would have prefered the book have fewer, but taller pages. However, the color photos of so many items - there are hundreds of them - give this volume a definate edge over any of the other guides I have used over the past 25 years.
This book definately rates as a "must-have" for the postwar Lionel collector.

2 comments about Schroeder's Collectible Toys Antique to Modern Price Guide (Schroeder's Collectible Toys).
- THIS BOOK IS HIGHLY INFORMATIVE AND UP TO DATE WITH ITS DESCRIPTIONS AND PRICES. I USE THIS BOOK AS MY BIBLE FOR TOYS BECAUSE IT CONTAINS NOT ONLY THE EASY TO GET PRICES, BUT ALSO THE HARD TO FIND TOY PRICES. THE ONLY DRAW BACK THAT I CAN SEE IS I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE PICTURES. THIS IS A MUST FOR YOUR TOY COLLECTIBLE LIBRARY OF PRICE BOOKS.
- Of all the books in our library ~ this one never gets 'recycled!' Wonderful souce book with excellent information. This book sells out fast in our area! Glad to know that we can now order it on line!

2 comments about Warman's Bobbing Head Field Guide: Values And Identification (Warman's Field Guides).
- Lou has done a magnificent job with this new book. A great and most valuable edition to vintage bobbing head collector's library. A great compliment to Tim Hunter's book with newly uncovered information not yet before available to collectors.
If you are looking for new bobble heads, this is not for you. If you are looking for vintage nodders from the 1960's this is a must have book.
Thank you for the efforts Lou!

- Very, very disappointed. Book is basically for Baseball, Football, Hockey bobbing heads. Most are much, much older bobbleheads, like many years ago. Not any bobbers from present day Nov. 8, 2005 to last ten years, if not fifteen years ago.
Very disappointed. Don't buy if you're looking for any bobbers produced in the last 10 years. Only ones listed are: Michelin Man no price,Orange County Choppers Mikey & Paul Jr. no price, Bill Clinton, no price, Surf's Up Surfer no price, Three Stooges newer issue Curly, Larry & Moe no price and the last one is Uncle Sam newer issue, no price. Sorry, but that's it. Bad choice on my part to purchase.

2 comments about Collectible African American Dolls (Identification & Values (Collector Books)).
- Wow! This book is truly a one of a kind. It is detailed and classy. I cannot put it down. The bright colors, lure the reader into magical moments exemplifying the rich culture and status of the African American Doll throughout time. Ms. Ellis, your insight is to be commended. I am certain that you will bring joy not only to avid collectors, but to many young boys and girls as well...anxiously awaiting the next edition!!!
- THIS BOOK IS FANTASTIC! I REALLY APPRECIATE THE VALUES MS. ELLIS HAS GIVEN TO THESE WONDERFUL AFRICAN AMERICAN DOLLS. MY ONLY GRIPE IS THAT IT IS A LITTLE SHORT FOR EACH MANUFACTURER, AND DEFINITELY SOME COMPANIES MISSING. BUT OVERALL, THE GLOSSY COLOR PAGES, RELAXED WRITING AND FAIR VALUE AMOUNTS MORE THAN MAKES UP FOR IT! THANK YOU MS. ELLIS!

5 comments about An Unauthorized Guide to Godzilla Collectibles (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- A comprehensive masterpiece of full Godzilla's merchanise on toys, posters, models etc. which is definitely a 'must-have guide' for true collectors in search of complete amazing collection. Very well recommended for all ages and good investment with value in money. Do not miss it or you are not complete Gozdilla's fan yet.....
- I am most impressed with this book. As a rookie Godzilla collector, it was fascinating to see the huge selection of merchandise that has been available. Living in the UK, it has been near impossible (until the internet came along) to obtain Godzilla merchandise and now I know what a task is ahead of me! Even if I cannot own the items, at least this book will provide me with a good photographic record. I was especially interested in the section devoted to film posters - it is interesting and hilarious seeing the variations between different country's versions. The book is lilterally packed with colour photos - in fact the only thing which lets it down is the lack of background text/information on the merchandise. I was glad to see no mention of the American/Tristar Godzilla (1998) apart from a entry in the film poster listing -the book was probably compiled just a little too early for this but I feel that it would have no place in the Japanese Godzilla World.
- Invaluable book for collectors and dealers alike. Clear pics on some of the really rare and expensive items. The only problem is that many of the prices are WAY too low for some of the toys, but when the author is one of the largest buyers and sellers of Godzilla toys, you have to expect that.
- Spend hours just looking through all the godzilla items in the last 30 to 40 years. Anyone who is a collector or a true godzilla fan, this book is a must!!!!
- If you like Godzilla, this is the book for you. Even if you have just a passing fancy into the world of collectibles, you will be amazed at how in depth and complete this volume is. Covers thousands of items. I looked at it for hours after getting it.

1 comments about Collecting Rose O'Neill's Kewpies (Schiffer Book for Collectors).
- This is a wonderful book filled with lots of color photos of the earliest Kewpies. Since the authors are members of Rose O'Neil's family, they concentrate on the Kewpie figures, dolls, and dishes that were made under the supervision of Rose herself. If you are a Kewpie fan, this book is for you. The prices given are for 2003.
