4 comments about Boyds Bears: 2008 Wall Calendar.

1. When I ordered this calendar I thought it was going to be like the ones I had received the last 2 years as a gift. Those calendars had fun things to do throughout the year on different days. This calendar does not have that. Also, I hung it on the same hook and there must be something wrong with the hole because it tears on every page I have tried. I had to use tape.



2. This is the second Boyds Bears calendars I have purchased to display in my kitchen. The photos are cute and very colorful. Boyds are my favorite bears to collect and was happy to see this offered on Amazon.com because my local bookstores do not carry it.



3. I purchased this for my wife who is a teddy bear enthusiast. She loves the calendar; easy to read, great pictures, enough room to write notes, birthdays, etc. I will continue to purchase in the future.



4. Gave it to my sister in law - who LOVES Boyd bears. She is running out of room in her house so the calendar was a perfect way for her to enjoy her bear buddies all through the year.

1. A wonderful book that I would recommend to any one whether they collect
   bears or not. The true stories in this book are so touching and warm. I have
   already read it many times. It is my favorite of any books on bears yet.



2. This charming book is a must read. I received it as a gift and couldn't put it down. It was heartwarming, funny and sometimes a little sad. It is a true tribute to the teddy bear which is loved by humanity and pets of all ages.



3. It was so refreshing to read a "different" kind of bear book. I loved the essence the author deplicted between teddy bears and their keepers!! The stories within this book were so heartwarming that I found myself reading them again and that is something I rarely do with a book. I loved the fact that these were true stories and I thought the author's way of telling a story was like sitting on the front porch and listening to my grandparents tales. The pictures were outstanding and the vintage photos took me back to a time I never lived. I think this book is for everyone, not just a teddy bear lover. When a book can put a tear in your eye and also make u chuckle out loud, I feel it has accomplished the ultimate. A MUST read for the year and I think it will make a grrreat gift for all of my friends. I hope there will be a sequel!!!!

It is beautifully written with some of the most heartfelt stories that I have ever read. Don't let the teddy bear cover fool you. This book is about the human condition and the beauty of living life and simple things. I am reading it a second time -- something that I rarely ever do. I have, also, purchased several copies for friends. I am a avid reader and this is my favorite book this year. You don't have to be a teddy bear collector to love this book, you just have to be human. This author has trulycaptured the human spirit. If there was ever a time for a feel good book, now is the time, and In Search of Teddy is the book.I LOVE THIS BOOK.



5. I have seen hundreds of BEAR BOOKS and seem to read the same things over and over again..until picking this heartwarming tribute! There could never be a more fitting tribute to the annniversary of the Teddy Bear than these TRUE stories and Tales FROM THE HEART of a woman who obviously knows how to bring a smile to our faces and a tear to our eye! I am not one to sit with a book but have found myself unable to put it down reading it from cover to cover over and over and finding more in each story than before! Each of the many photographs in the book is a masterpiece in itself and I am looking forward to the day when we can purchase the prints and maybe even greeting cards with the pictures shown! I applaud and admire the writers kind and gentle soul and thank her for bringing peace and love back into our lives at a time when its needed most! A great gift for those you love. A must for your coffee table collection or bedside foe a rainy night... even if you arent a Bear collector!

1. If you are an avid collector of Pricilla Hillmans' Cherished Teddies, this book is a must-have. Make your own wish list, record the purchase price of each figurine, and know what each one is worth on the secondary market. My copy is ridiculously dog-eared from constant reference!

1. Basically this book is THE BEST if you are at all interested in the Terri Lee dolls and finding out which one you have, does it have its original clothing and what might it be worth. This wonderful guide begins with the background and creation of the Terri Lee dolls-- beginning with the early compo dolls, the painted plastic dolls, vinyl, and hard plastic, then their recreation in 1999 and also current introductions. It has absolutely fabulous clear color photos and all dolls are pictured with their original costumes and the latest collector prices (for the year 2000). Original boxes are shown for some, enlarged pictures of the accessories, and so much more! You won't be disappointed -- it is truly a well researched reference guide and the author deserves 5 stars for this book.



2. This book on Terri Lee dolls has some great pictures but not much information. If you really need help identifying the doll and clothes, this is not the book to buy. The book dedicates space to 1/4 page pictures of the author's grand children, Shirley Temple and lots of identical information. The same copy is duped onto different pages.

1. This is a great book for the seasoned artist as well as the beginning collector. The photography is great and the text is very readable. It's a pleasure to carry with and read while traveling, as well as to study the photographs for ideas. I enjoyed reading about the artists, especially the ones I already knew; and learning about the ones I was'nt familar with. The photography was a pleasure, as well as the the text. I would recommend this book to anyone intested in teddy bears and artists!

Stephen Cronk, former editor of Teddy Bear Review, has compiled a collection of more than 100 wonderful photographs of beautiful furry teddy bears created by many of today's leading teddy bear artists. The format reveals techniques and inspirations behind the photographed bear as well as some history on the featured contemporary artists. The teddy bear lover cannot resist the lovable images created to reveal the spirit of this collectible art form.

   I loved the organization and format of this publication. I also enjoyed the 6-page historical perspective Steve offered spanning the history of the teddy bear from 1902 through the development of domestic and foreign shows, collector clubs, and charital organizations formed to distribute teddy bears to those in need of comfort.

   You will be able to easily locate some of the best known teddy bear artists today. Their addresses are also featured in this book.

   This book is a must for collectors and fellow teddy bear artists. You will love this book as much as I did.

1. This new, year 2000 book contains 160 pages with more than 300 large, sharp, full color photos, and prices of more than 1,200 collectible bears. There's a nice introduction and plenty of useful text in this book. Topics range from Avon Full O'Beans, to Chilly Bears, Godiva, Harley-Davidson, Paddington, Ty, Beanie, Winnie-the-Poo and Yogi Bear. There's information on Bear Trends, Tips for Buying and Selling Bears, Using the Internet, Tips for selling on E-Bay. Also data on current lingo, bear condition, counterfeit bears and a list of internet resources. Very interesting and valuable for collectors of little bears.
