1. According to the publisher, a printing problem caused many of the photos to be very light. I was also told that the problem will not be fixed in this volume (1 of 6), but future volumes will be ok.

   There is a CD version of volume 1, and I would recommend you purchase the CD if your intention is to identify stamps. If all you need are catalogue values, they printed just fine.

1. I must say this is the best guide to United States Stamps and it's from the Postal service....get it and you will not be able to put it down.



2. The book is beutifully illustrated and contains up-to-date information on stamp collecting, directly from the source, The U.S. Post Office. It has enhanced my view on collecting.



3. I collected stamps in the 1970s and 1980s as my grandmother was a big collector and I was fascinated by her stamp books, which were terrific. I had a pretty good collection myself just from her discards. But when she passed away over 20 years ago, I lost interest in the hobby. But recently, I pulled out my old stamp book and got the urge to get it back into shape and to get it current. And the 33rd edition of the US Postal Service's book is a great book to use as a guide to get back in the hobby. First, it shows pictures of almost every stamp ever issued by the USPS over the years in glorious color, so it is a great book just to look at. But I use it to see just how daunting it will be to catch up to collecting almost 25 years of stamps because the USPS has issued considerably more stamps on an annual basis than they did before. I also use it as a guideline as to how much I should pay for stamps on online auctions to make sure I don't overpay by too much. The size of the book makes it easy to use as well.
   
   I've really enjoyed rediscovering this hobby and really think this book has made it even more fun!



4. If you are looking for a high and low price for an individual US stamp, this is the book for you. It does not price by the condition of the stamp, but the book will give you some idea of the price range a stamp would fall within.



5. i just thought i'd write in saying what an amazing book this is. i purchacd it a few months back, and even though its from 2003, it combines indivual prices of all stamps, and first day covers. everything is in color and very easy to read and move around in. i find its a bit better then Scott's. as fdc's are included right there on the page.

1. I am an avid stamper, and PSX used to be the grand dame until I read their demonic angel policy. They are pretty tight with their stamps and what you can do with them and go beyond the, "Just-make-sure-you-hand-stamp-as-opposed-to- reproducing-our-images" policy of other firms. It is hard to sell your work and you can't really donate it to an auction without prior approval. If you enjoy stamping, look into other firms like Magneta or Mirkwood for their stamps and READ THE ANGEL POLICY (limited angel policy is a warning to run!) but definitely buy this book.



2. The projects in this book are shown in beautiful photographs with easy to follow instructions. There are twelve "groups" of projects - one group for each month and each month has a theme. The cards are stunning. As an avid stamper, there were new techniques described that I have not seen at my local stamp stores nor in other books or magazines. If you like to look at beautiful examples for inspiration, then I highly recommend this book.



3. This book has alot on techniques and not just for cards. This book is nice for beginners and more advanced. It gives you many ideas to branch out with. As an avid stamper, I would recommend this book to all.

1. Excellent and interesting book, that combines my interest in stamps and the history of jewish people. There are many biographies of important men and women, that recognize their contributions to Humanity.



2. As I recently started collecting postage stmps from Israel, I was thrilled to find this book. (I do not read Hebrew) Well made with beautiful full color illustrations this book covers 4000 years of Jewish history. It is a must have book for any serious collector. Dr. Ronald Eisenberg helped bring the people, places and celebrations of Israel to life. Well written and insightful, I highly recommend the book.

Eisenberg is an amazing, full-color, 288 page volume that meticulously reproduces postage stamps portraying events and people throughout the whole of Jewish history.
