   She says that it was worth the money that I spent



2. Gee, I can't believe this book has been selling for so long, and yet nobody has reviewed it. I guess I just changed that.
   Well, if you are a "collector", you should own this book. While there may be others that will be of use, this one really should be on your shelf, so you'll have it when you need it. As a new collector, it has been a great help to me.

1. This book by Dr. Lee J Sanders tells about the history of diabetes. The story is wonderful and the stamps are beautiful. The book gives you the history of the different periods in time of diabetes. It is a must have book

1. Excellent, detailed descriptions on the hard to identify Bank Note issues, Washington Franklin issues and Press Waste stamps.

   Scott has valued stamps on the grade of "Very Fine" for the past several issue of the Scott catalogs. Although grading of stamps is very subjective, there are references included to show what classifies as "Very Fine". Most collections do not have "Very Fine" stamps, especially in the early issues. Scott should give some consideration to also giving values of stamps with less than "Very Fine" centering.

   The minimum value for stamps has been changed to 20¢, which is not really an accurate reflection of the market, but can be used as a guideline.

   Even with a few faults, this is still the most informative book on US stamps available. It is not too confusing and even a novice can use the references to accurately identify their stamps.

1. The is probably the best English language identifier but I still find a lot of stamps that aren't listed here. I wish the editors would start with page one of the Scott catalogs and list every word on every stamp. A Herculean task? Maybe but much more useful. Still, though, for the price, this is a very nice guide that will serve all collectors very well.

1. I own several recent Nancy Schiffer books on Japanese porcelain that are of the highest quality in every regard; layout, printing, very clear close-up color photos, and with informative captions relative to the piece being illustrated.
   
   Based on this experience I purchased this earlier book and now regret it.
   
   The cover of this book is very misleading as to the contents.
   
   The pictures are mostly black and white, taken at a distance, out of focus, and poorly printed.
   
   This book is of little help when learning Chinese porcelain because the main attributes that educate are the subtle color variations used in the enamels and the base form which is not shown at all in this book.
   
   Also, the captions of the photos do not provide specific information such as dates, kilns, etc.
   
   The majority of this book is devoted to Rose Medallion when there are countless other decorations the Chinese produced during the era this book covers.
   
   Finally, the type face and printing used in this book is most primative, amateur, and unpleasant.
   
   I highly recommend you do not buy this book unless you have low expectations and are mainly interested in Rose Medallion dinnerware.
