  1. This book is great for anybody that has an interest in collecting baseball memorablia. Mr. Zachofsky has unique suggestions for collecting autographs and how to display them.

  2. I received this book as a gift and was very impressed with the suggestions and the history it gave. I have since begun creating my own Baseball Memorabilia Room and I have even gotten a few Hall of Famer autographs. I find this book extremely helpful for any collectors, experienced or new to the hobby. I think this book is fantastic and it is the "BIBLE" of any collecting manual. With the upcoming baseball season, it really makes a great read especially if you're interested in starting a memorabilia room. The forward to the book is written by one of my all time favorites, Duke Snider -- very impressive! Also, I love the pictures that are included! I highly recommend this book!

  3. After 5 years of struggling collecting baseball memorabilia, I've finally found the magna carta for this fascinating hobby. Attempting to collect the key signatures for this hobby is the ultimate goal. Collecting Baseball Memorabilia A Handbook makes it easy, enjoyable and is a great investment. Lastly, since I've purchased this book, I've added 5 Hall of Famers to my collection without the stress because of the knowldedge found in this book.

  4. Since collecting baseball cards many years ago I have always been an admirer of Baseball memorabilia collections. I never started on because it always seemed too difficult. This book makes it easy. From the aficionado to the novice, from the young to the old, this book encompasses all aspects for starting, adding to, or preserving a baseball collection. Amazing insight into the collecting world it gives great advice and tips that are so valuable to a new or even seasoned collector. This book is the "Ball Four" for collectors as it gives an insiders view from someone did it. It has interesting comments and synopsis of Hall of Famers and baseball park and team information. Concise and easy to read with great photos and a foreword by the "Duke of Flatbush",my hero. A must read for anyone into collecting or who enjoys baseball memories.

5 comments about Standard Price Guide to U.S. Scouting Collectibles (Standard Price Guide to Us Scouting Collectibles).

  1. What a great resourse book. A must have for the avid collector or the novice. Besides collecting, it is a great companion piece to learn about the Boy Scouts and 20th Century Americana in general. I commend Mr. Cuhaj for all the work and time he put into creating this. I'm so glad some one thought enough of me to make this a perfect gift for the Scouter who has everything.

  2. This is the 2nd, updated edition of the popular volume. Its 400 pages feature more than 750 nice black and white photos and a 16 page full color section. There is adequate text to accompany the photos, and it is fully indexed to aid in item location. All major levels of scouting are featured, along with collectibles, council listings, glossary of terms, memorabilia dealers, collector organizations, museums and reference works. It's an essential guide for scout collectible enthusiasts.

  3. This is an excellent book for anyone who collects Boy Scouts of America memorabilia such as insignia, pins, books, Order Of The Arrow, just about anything that has been involved in Scouting. It details many items extensively, and provides price ranges based on condition. The first edition did not have an index, and it was rather difficult to find certain items, but Cuhaj corrected that in this second edition. The magnitude of this book is tremendous, providing over 11,000 listings, most with values for buying, selling, or just trading. There are a few pages in color, while the rest is in black and white. I would have preferred all items in color, and would have been willing to pay more for the book. If Scouting memorabilia is your forte, I highly recommend this book with a 5-Star rating.

  4. The first edition was the answer to a new collector's prayers and the release of the greatly expanded second edition was timed perfectly to take me to the next level in this increasingly popular field of collecting. This book brings together a broad range of information that earlier had only been available to collectors willing to seek out a daunting number of specialty publications, usually at considerable cost. I would highly recommend this new edition not only for beginning collectors, but also for the more advanced collector who needs a broad reference to the panoply of Scouting collectibles. Finally, I think most readers will enjoy the author's personal touch, including images from his boyhood Scouting experience. They certainly evoked fond memories of my own early Scouting days.

  5. Greetings, well, it is back, bigger and with lots more photos. What has become the identification and price guide for scouting collectibles has been doubled in listing size as well as photographs for ease of identification. While weekly auctions may be skewing the price system, it is a great starting point. The Merit Badge section, and the book sections have been completely revised.

3 comments about Collecting Antique Bird Decoys and Duck Calls: An Identification and Price Guide.

  1. This is one book that I never received, even after they charged my credit card, they would not respond to my emails, offer a refund, or even send me a replacement for the "one lost in the mail."

  2. A very well-researched book, this is definately one for the collector. This book's true value lies in its value guides and background information, making for facinating reading. Unfortunately, the photography is only average, and mostly black and white (there is a middle section of 63 colored pages).

  3. This is a great book. I've collected decoys for several years and I own the previous edition of Collecting Antique Bird Decoys and Duck Calls which is now some 10 years old. No disrespect, but the new edition by Russ Lewis far surpasses the old book. Not only will you find thousands of photos but Lewis, an avid collector himself, provides loads of information on traditonal carvers, factory birds, regional influences throughout North America and much more. The depth and breadth of the work is impressive. Lewis is a university professor, and you can tell that he is an educator at heart. It also helps that he has a soul of a collector. If you collect decoys, bird calls, or simply enjoy the outdoors you'll love this book. I'll bet my Red-breasted Merganser decoy on it.

2 comments about Racing Collectibles: Identification and Value Guide (Racing Collectibles).

  1. First of all, I HATE the BIG UGLY picture of American Car Racer...do not know his name, on the cover of the book. Second, I hate NASCAR and Cheap political HOT WHEEL junk I do not even care for looking at. The book should focus on HIGH QUALITY COLLECTIBLE BRANDS ONLY. What a waste of paper~!!!

  2. Great new 224 page book featuring nearly 700 full color, sharp, photos of every type of racing collectible. Enthusiasts will really appreciate the great variety of items covered, ranging from autographs, bean bag racers, cards and cereal boxes to magazines, medallions, model kits, and statues, steins, tickets and uniforms. There's plenty of text provided and thousands of item listings. If you collect car racing items, this is a must for your library.

  1. Enthusiastic sports memorabila collectors will absolutely love this book. It is a perfect reference before buying or selling any items on auction sites such as Amazon.com and eBay as well as consginment sites like Zshops and Starshows.com. The book provides many great pictures of all sorts of memorabilia. It covers a complete list of sports from boxing to wrestling. It includes extensive listings of autographs, equipment, figurines, team publications, ticket stubs, bottle caps, programs, magents, and even matchbooks. I found out that a 1951 Phillies yearbook I have is worth $400. One of the most enjoyable things that any sports nut would like is the entertainment you can get just paging through and looking at the pictures. I found myself doing that and saying to myself, "Yeah I remember that". This book does not have a plot but is loaded with lots of memories and history.

3 comments about The Art of the Sports Car: The Greatest Designs of the 20th Century.

  1. This is a great book of historical sports cars, with lots of information and beautiful pictures. This is a neat reference and a great coffee table book, very informative and very very classy too! I really recommend this for a car person, of just someone who loves the history or simply the art of beautiful cars.

    Sam Kochel: STi driver

  2. This book is a beautiful. You do not have to be a car enthusiast to enjoy this book, where art and beauty come together in a well-detailed book. An excellent edition to any coffee table collection.

  3. The author does it again! This time he captures 50 of the best sportscars with purpose made photography, done especially for the book, and writes simple but very informative text so everyone can relive the best of the best.
    Bravo!
