2 comments about The Mike King Story.
- This is a terrific book, very difficult to put down. You really get to know Mike and see the grace of God through his trials and victories. Wonderful read.
- One hundred twenty days after he pushed out of Fairbanks, Alaska-in his wheelchair-he arrived in Washington, D.C. An incredible 5600 miles by hand!
Injured seven years earlier in a motorcycle accident in Calgary, Alberta, King is a paraplegic with a will that defies the reasonable.
But his road through therapy, his struggle to accept his limitation, and his 5600-mile trip through summer's heat and humidity required persistent fortitude. He tells about it openly and poignantly in this personal story.

5 comments about Blindsided: Lifting A Life Above Illness - A Reluctant Memoir.
- Mr. Cohen is a huge black hole; I once did not feel his love for his children...my impression is that he was after all a very lucky man. he managed to put up with a demanding career, had the big luck in a great woman and I think wonderful kids...Instead of bitching so much, be thankful Mr. Cohen for what you have! In other country or other financial situation you would be long gone.
- Richard M Cohen is amazing person. I really enjoy read this book. I found it very interest and good.
- This is one of my favorite memoirs. Mr. Cohen writes beautifully about a not so beautiful subject, chronic illness. I hear he has another book out and I plan to look it up and order it as soon as I finish this review. Thank you for giving a voice to chronic illness Richard.
- I really didn't like this book..from the first page. I never did try to pick it up again. Not worth your time.
- BLINDSIDED by Richard Cohen. This is not just a book for for those dealing with MS, Although it could be the story of my family. It is the story of a man and his family who takes the blows and then gets up and keeps on going. It may not be the path was originally planned but they find a way to go go on. It is an uplifting story to those who fight physical problems and despair and find a way to go on. God bless you Richard Cohen, Meredith Viera and your children.

3 comments about What Color Is a Butterfly.
- I found the author's lack of writing skill distracting. Many sentences were awkwardly written. At times it is confusing which character she is writing about since she assumes the identity of each character with the pronoun "I." The redundancy of information given is appalling. Information in one paragraph is repeated in another paragraph a few pages later, almost word of word. This happens several times in the book. Did anyone edit this book?
- "Your Mother was an admirable lady. She mastered her fate with determination, great willpower and a positive attitude and she was always aware that she was so fortunate to be born into this family, giving her so much love and understanding and support to develop her special talents. It was useful to me once to realize, what it means to be blind, because I really never thought of such a situation."
- A child without sight grows up to be a talented musician, complete homemaker, career woman and mother of three. The story of her training and over-coming visual imparement is an inspiration to everyone who reads this carefully crafted biograpy. What Color Is A Butterfly is an ispirational journey into the qualities of perception, courage and creativity. Humor softens the sadness and hope strengthens the drive to "be normal." A book that will give a lift to all who read this story.
