1. This book has 185 photographs of various pieces of Carl Faberge's studio's work. A majority of the photos are in color. The focus is on the pieces themselves with text accompanying each picture that describes the object and lists the materials used. There is additional text that describes the generic materials used and gives an overview of the studio and the process of enameling. It also discusses the general categories of objects that the studio produced. This book is excellent for someone who wants primarily to see pictures of Faberge's work and wants some additional background information.

1. This book provides excellent photographs and information about the individual items in the author's collection. As a collector myself, the variety of Neolithic pieces, the information presented and the detailed photography make this a great study aid to help anyone learn about the patination and stylistic traits of ancient Chinese jades. A very informative book, well worth the price.

1. This was ourchased for my 11 year old granddaughter. She love it. Basic things are explained perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!



2. I've been throwing for about 3 years and this book was given to me as a gift. It briefly touches on many subject and has a lot of good pictures.

   I would recommend this to anyone with interest in pottery, both wheel throwing and hand building.




3. This is a great reference book with lots of ideas and lots of illustrations. Great for someone who wants to explore out of just throwing or hand building. Great step by step ideas with great color illustrations.

1. This might perhaps be regarded as a modern and 'light' version of the 'International Book of Wood' (1976). By content this is not half what the 'International Book of Wood' was, but times change. This new book is splendidly printed and should do a great job of infecting the reader with enthousiasm for wood. The pictures are almost exclusively full color photographs of a uniformly good quality. As long as the reader keeps in mind that this is a coffee-table book only and that the author does not exert himself in trying to get his details right, but limits himself to presenting a good story (just staying in the ballpark), this will be most enjoyable.

1. You will not look at rocks, sticks, ice, leaves or water the same way after you read this (or any) of his books. It's mezmerizing to see the way these common objects we would walk right by turn into sublime art. Also worth checking out the DVD "Rivers and Tides". Just wonderful, and the polar opposite of the slick, mass produced art out there today.



2. Andy Goldsworthy's work is as good as a human being can get to the Northern Lights.
