1 comments about Your Vintage Keepsake: A Csa Guide to Costume Storage and Display.
- Don't let the small size of this book fool you! It is filled with excellent instructions on how to care for vintage clothing, properly. I'm guessing most readers will be as surprised as I was by the items that actually harm our precious clothes. My entire closet is set up incorrectly. Now I know why the items I was using to protect my clothing were actually harming them.
I love the way this book feels to the touch. The paper on which it is printed glided through my fingers as I was reading it. The photos are crisp. I contacted one of the suppliers of acid-free products from the list in the back of the book. They have an excellent website and reasonable prices on products I could not find locally. If you buy new clothing regularly, the care of your garments can be poor and it isn't really noticed. When you have a love affair with vintage clothing however, I feel it is our duty to care for these items properly, so they will survive another ten, fifty or even one hundred years. This book will teach you how to protect the lovely textiles, clothing and accessories passed down to us by our parents' and grandparents' generations.

3 comments about Warmans Kitschy Kitchen Collectibles Field Guide (Warman's Field Guides).
- Nice book but it is just too small. It would be much better if it was larger in size. But all in all it is ok
- This guide covers items such as 1960's tin decorator kits and other garage-sale items. They are overpriced as well. Don't waste your money.
- Just a warning to anyone buying books on kitchen collectibles--this field guide is made up of the exact same pictures and information as the book Spiffy Kitchen Collectibles, also by Brian S. Alexander. I didn't realize they would have exactly the same content and ordered them both, much to my chagrin. Thank goodness for returns! Spiffy Kitchen Collectibles iseasier to look at due to its larger format but if you want a smaller version to read on the go while thrifting or yard saling, the Warmans Field Guide will do.

5 comments about Occupied Japan Collectibles: Identification & Value Guide.
- I bought this book for OJ S&Ps, but the section on S&Ps is relatively small in comparative to the total book. If one collects anything OJ it will be of interest & value, but the S&Ps in the book are found in many different S&P collector books.
-
I collect older (collectible) MADE IN JAPAN and OCCUPIED JAPAN items and therefore I have quite a few books on the subject(s). This book is not complete but quite helpful. Photos are nice.
Many different volumes have been written on this subject. Infact, I own many other books on this same subject.
When "Occupied Japan" collectibles were issued there were sooooo many different items sold, that it would be impossible to include all of them in just one book. The author tried and did a good job though.
- while the author gives many photographs, she lacks identifying marks for the items and in my opinion, is not correct on her values. however, she explains her process in the beginning.
- Great value. Book was new and cheaper than market prices. The shipping was fast. I rate this transaction AAA+++
- This identification guide to occupied Japan collectibles covers everything from dishware, teapots and salt shakers to toys and figurines, providing an excellent mix of small color photos for identification and accompanying values and history. Occupied Japan Collectibles is an essential acquisition for any interested in collecting items from occupied Japan.

5 comments about Skipper: Barbie Doll's Little Sister.
- This book is absolutely wonderful ! I have been able to complete many outfits using this book for reference. Well-written, detailed photographs, and concise descriptions are only some of the many features of this book. I enjoyed seeing all the rare products as well. Thank you for a fantastic book !!
- Not just strictly a "doll" book, the authors have gone out of their way to include information and pictures on foreign skippers, color/design variations of the outfits, furniture and cases, and prototypes of what *could* have been! Besides just showing a picture of each outfit and the average price value, there is also an item-by-item list so that no yo-yo or hair curler will go unaccounted for! This is a great resource for fashion collectors; a few of the outfits are even shown on the dolls so we can see how great they look in them! While this is a great book, it stops at the year 1978, so it's not aimed at contemporary Skipper collectors. :)
- I have found this book to be a very valuable tool in identifying the correct and I stress correct components of Skipper, Todd and Tutti outfits. It is very informative, easy to see even the smallest items, and very well structured. I highly recommend this book.
- What little material available on Skipper isn't anything close to the tons of information here. All the outfits are beautifully photographed, and there are so many rare and unusual items. I really enjoyed seeing so many outfits dressed on the incredible dolls. If you buy this book, you're going to see that lots of Skipper stuff is just as wonderful as her big sister Barbie's.
- Finally! A book for Skipper collectors! What a great book. Very informative, fantastic color photographs, also an up to date price guide. Includes photos of lots of hard to find items including cases and licensed products. It's also wonderful to be able to see pictures of foreign issue dolls and outfits as well as rare doll and outfit variations. This informative book has made collecting so much more fun!

- This book was very helpful to me - I just started collecting Weller pottery since the beginning of this year. Although this book couldn't possible have every piece of Weller pottery photographed or drawn it is still a very useful and appreciated guide for any Weller collector. I am very pleased with my copy and would recommend it to anyone considering starting to collect Weller pottery or interested in placing a "ballpark" value on their Weller collectibles. There are some beautiful Weller pieces out there available for the discerning collector - with this book you are an educated collector. Good luck and enjoy collecting some Weller pottery - maybe our paths will cross?
- This is the only book I know of that is dedicated solely to Weller pottery. It includes a very detailed history of Wellers conception and demise. A section on the prominent Weller artisans and all the known markings of the pottery is very helpful.
The main reason I bought this book though is for the color photographs of the different Weller lines. They are beautiful and it makes identifying pieces much easier. Besides a copy for myself I also gave one to my Mother-in-law for her birthday. We both love it!
