1. Long overdue, and written by people I respect as glass scholars, this is an important volume on a serious glass shelf. As usual many attributions are expalined / illustrated with period info so we know why the authors tell us as they do. Sadly out of print but not always that hard to find yet if seeking through various sources. A major company with a pivotal role in the next generation of glass makers at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Good stuff inside this book, nicely illustrated and well organized.



2. I was so pleased to find this book. I have collected Hobbs glass for many years and have searched for information. Finally, this book is the only resource devoted entirely to Hobbs. The authors have included well documented facts and information about the glass and its history, along with beautiful photographs. There is a value guide if the collector is interested in pricing or selling their glass. All in all this book is essential and long overdue.

1. This book has cards and that's about it. The cards in this book are way overpriced. For example I have a Barry Sanders/Jerry Rice card. In the book it goes for one hundred dollars. In Beckett it goes for twenty five bucks. I have a Chad Pennington card. In the book it goes for one hundred dollars. In Beckett it goes for a measly twenty dollars. I can give many more reasons not to buy this book but I am limited to only a thousand words. Buyers Beware... DO NOT BUY!!! Buy Beckett!

1. This is a comprehensive book on the subject of coin grading, and much of the information I am looking for is here. But they don't list all the conditions you would expect to find. A typical coin might have good, fine and extra fine, but lack very good and very fine. So what is a very fine coin worth, halfway between fine and extra fine? Darned if I know.



2. I read an outdated 1992 version of this book when I first began collecting coins. It was invaluable in my search for decent well-priced, honest-graded coins. I think that anyone who wants to find the value of their coins, ar just learn a little about the hobby, shod read this book.
