1. This book is well documented, thorough and the pictures are excellent. In addition, this book discusses the Nippon history, provides an excellent chapter on marks and backstamps with a short commentary on the different mark colors and their meanings.
   
   I particularly liked the glossary, and cross-referenced price guide index which is placed in the back of the book yet neatly references to pages and plate #'s. Because of the extensive patterns in the Nippon history, every pattern is not in the book but I was able to identify particular shapes of pieces which I could check against marks/backstamps and the price guide to get a reasonable value range.
   
   Any collector or dealer will suit their library well by having this book for education and reference to Nippon.



2. Joan Van Patten's Nippon Porcelain focuses on Japanese porcelain, from painted vases and stamps to plates and smoking pieces. Gorgeous color photos abound.

From my previous reviews of the collection series, I've mentioned that if you are beginner, a keen buyer/seller, or an experienced collector/trader of Nippon items, then you need to have this book, along with the other series. Like the previous series, this book contains information on Nippon porcelains. It provides actual photos, and price ranges for each items featured. Nippon porcelains have their disctinctive mark, based on the year and place they were manufactured, so this book gives you what to look and watch out for, in order to identify the authencity of the item.

If you are beginner, a keen buyer/seller, or an experienced collector/trader of Nippon items, then you ought to get this book, along with the other series. 1. This is a perfect look back over the decades of Star Trek collectibles and toys. It is well organized. Fans of only one series may go directly there and concentrate on those items. General Trekkers will enjoy browsing throughout. It is amazing how many items are listed. It is hard to believe a book would be misjudged on the basis of one small line of items so far on the edge of the field! Get this book!



2. There are many collectibles listed in this book. Also there are good pictures and descriptions. However, some of the best Star Trek collectibles and memorabilia are the Star Trek Autographed Plaques/Items done by "THE SCORE BOARD, INC.", but unfortunately in this book there are not informations about them.

1. This book is extremely comprehensive. Every magazine you could ever want to know about is listed in here. I highly recommend it. There are also great inserts on collectable posters and bands like Kiss, The Doors, The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Annette Funicello, Buddy Holly, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, The Buckinghams, and Rod Stewert. I just wish there was a more recent edition. Add this to your shopping cart now!

1. I bought this book because I write fantasy and I needed to know what kind of furniture medieval and Renaissance era people were likely to have. I found it a better resource than anything I found posted on the web. The pictures were particularly helpful.

1. Excellent read. This is a well researched and fascinating book, I found most interesting the precautions used to prevent explosions. King Powder utilized different materials that minimized sparking by using cars with four-wheels made of brass riding on iron rails pulled by a mule or horse with bronze shoes secured with copper nails. Workers could not wear shoes made with nails and were fired if caught with matches or smoking. Some of the explosions were massive and one caused 3000 windows to break. They had to go recruit workers from outside the area. This book is a tribute to the many people that were pioneers of an industry which makes this country secure today. I also like the pictures of old ads and shells in the back of the book. I highly recommend reading this book.

1. Overall, nice. What keeps this item from receiving 5 stars are: 1. there are several (less than 5) mismatches between the descriptions and the corresponding pictures and 2) the guide uses the Brookman numbers when most folks know these stamps by the Scott numbers and 3) the prices are of course, frozen in time, current as of publish date.
   
   On the plus: it's a complete dictionary by country, in chronological order, of every Disney stamp issued. All the stamps (complete sets), their souvenier sheets and variations are displayed and associated together. And lastly, the guide contains some discount coupons (probably long since expired).
   
   I glad I have this guide - it's fun to peruse and helpful to use as reference material.
