2 comments about Toy and Miniature Sewing Machines: An Identification & Value Guide.
- This book has a lot of info for just about any collector of toy sewing machines. I found it very useful many times already and i've only had it a short time.
- As a fairly new collector of toy machines I found this book and the companion volume to be very beneficial to me. An excellent source for info.

1 comments about Madame Alexander Store Exclusives and Limited Editions: Identification & Values.
- This is an excellent reference book for the Madame Alexander doll collector. Being a Madame Alexander Doll Club member I found particularly helpful the section on Madame Alexander Club dolls from the early years of the club. It was the first time I had seen some of these. Also enjoyed seeing the store specials and one of a kind dolls. Recommend this book to any Madame Alexander collector.

1 comments about American Cut and Engraved Glass: The Brilliant Period in Historical Perspective.
- This is a beautiful book that has exquisite B&W photos of cut and engraved glass. Of particular interest is the historical information about the glass industry, as well as the fascinating text on the step-by-step process of making and cutting glass. If you are looking for an informational book about the cut glass industry, I would recommend this one. If, however, you are looking for a book that can be used as a guide when purchasing or selling cut glass, this is probably not the best resource. There were particular patterns I was searching for from a New York based glass company that were not mentioned in the book. In fact, of the approx. 60 patterns this company made before it closed in 1933, only one is referenced.

1 comments about Tomart's Encyclopedia of Action Figures: The 1001 Most Popular Collectibles of All Time.
- This is a very nice reference book. Rather than giving a lot of detail about one type of action figure line, it provides a little history/information on lots of action figure lines. This book literally covers 1001 well know and more obscure action figure lines... it was very fun to read/reminisce. This is a hardcover book with 100s of color photos on full glossy paper. It contains at least one picture (and usually more) of virtually every action figure line. Most of the photos are small, but still worthwhile. I was pleasantly surprised to see so much information and so many pictures in such a small book (it is about 6" by 7", 350 pages, and a little over 1" thick). I collect mostly Star Wars and Mego figures, but often come across other figures when exploring. This was the perfect reference book for such a situation. This book also provides a general value for each figure line (the estimates seemed to be at least as good as other price guides). I bought my copy used for around $5 plus shipping (it arived in PERFECT condition). But, I'd say it is easily worth twice that... maybe even more.

5 comments about Racing and Collecting Slot Cars.
- This is a great book. Has lots of tracks and great idea's. I really like it.
- Great Book! The book gives super information about the slot car hobby. The information is very basic though, so keep that in mind. Great pictures throughout.
- This is a "must have" book for anyone either getting into slot cars or returning to slot cars as an adult. Robert Schleicher has an obvious passion for "true to scale" slot cars and doesn't let that passion get in the way of writing clearly. The book is a great source of information for the home slot car enthusiast particularly for 1/32 scale and to a lesser degree HO. He is not into "hopping up" slot cars and even states that it is more fun to win a race between equally matched cars using luck and skill than to win having the faster car. He does however, cover how to customize and optimize as well as performance match "ready to race" slot cars. The pictures are spectacular while the layouts and cars are worthy of the pictures. The book has quite a few typographical errors but weather you want to collect slot cars, build a detailed layout, both or just assemble your slot car set on the floor and race, this is a great book.
- "Racing and Collecting Slot Cars" is a book for every slot car racer and collector. It's primary focus is HO and 1/32 scale slot cars; however, the information provided applies to all scales. This book is well layed out. Each chapter exploring a specific aspect of these table top racers. The photos (many in color) are EXCELLENT. Best book around on the topic. No book is perfect, but Mr. Schleicher does a great job.
- Racing Cars is a book that is a[n] o.k. book. The only thing is it wasn't long enough. The book was still a good book. It could be a little more interesting. But I think it was a good book.

3 comments about Standard Guide to 1:18 Scale Die-Cast Cars (Standard Catalog).
- Great book, This is what I have been looking for. I was able to find all of my 1:18 scale cars in this book and put a value on them.
- This has to be the worst price guide I have ever seen. Forget about the values not even being close, the Ertl listing has so many errors its pathetic. Several of the cars listed are 1/43, Not 1/18, and are listed as 1/18, colors listed that were never made it goes on and on.
Sorry but it just don't cut it.
- After waiting for more than 9 months to get this book I was very disappointed after using Cast-car publication by Dan Boyd. The descriptions were very short and in most cases uninformative. I looked up 20 cars immediately from Ertl, Exact detail for Lane, Carousel, and Burago and Supercars (NO AutoArt) only to find 6 out of 20 and these are older than 2001 and could not be found. Very disappointing. All models did not have photos as Cast-Car Publications and the descriptions and details are sketchy or non existent, which is one of the values of the Cast-Car Publication. It does have more 1:18 scale models than any other Manual at this time and the $ VALUES that were assigned I found to be from a little low to extremely low even for an eBay auction. Some of the values assigned to very limited edition cars that even by todays standards are rare or hard to find are lower than what they sold new for and are bringing more than the values given to them in this publication. For example 1969 Grumpy's Toy Camaro SSC, 1969 Yenko Nova #1 Issue, Yenko Camaros #'s 1 & #2 are all listed at a ridiculous $60.00, the GMP Grumpys Toy Nova is also listed at $60.00, and Lanes 1967 Grumpy's Toy is listed as a $60.00 value. I WOULD BUY ANY OF THESE AT THE VALUE STATED IN THIS GUIDE AS MANY AS I COULD GET MY HANDS ON AND MAKE GREAT MARK-UP. WHERE DID THEY GET THESE VALUES??? These are only a few of the many glaring errors I found in an initial 30 minute review. Except for photos in the guide I found it exteremely lacking in why I made the purchase. I'm patiently waiting for the next issue of Cast-car which will include many more manufacturers than just Ertl.

2 comments about Schoenhut Dolls: A Collector's Encyclopedia.
- I have a large web site celebrating carved dolls with several web pages about Schoenhut dolls. I use this book as my main reference for Schoenhut dolls.
I love this book. Carol's method of presenting the dolls by Schoenhut model numbers has changed the way modern doll collectors refer to these dolls. Now a collector might state, "I have a 316 in mint condition". Thanks to Carol, others will be able to picture her doll clearly in our mind. Carol's stories about the Schoenhut family members and each of their very active involvement with the toy company puts a very personal slant on the history of this family oriented company. It should be obvious from this book that the Schoenhut family took great pride in producing the best quality, durable dolls and toys because they loved children and enjoyed the great fun of watching children at play. If you collect Schoenhut dolls, then you really NEED this book -- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
- I just love this book. If you collect Schoenhut dolls (or just one) you need this book. Beautiful photos of rare dolls, in depth history of the company, descriptions and examples of the the different models.... just a joy to read and look at.

4 comments about Greetings With Love: The Book of Valentines (Architecture).
- This beautiful book inspired me to gather and organize decades of greeting cards at various locations in my
house, perhaps for a collectible scrapbooking project or for art ideas.
- This is the most complete book on Valentines Day I have seen. Filled with interesting facts, over 200 (not 20) vintage Valentines, the history of Valentines Day, fun crafts for kids, recipes andmore. A must have book. AAAA+++++++
- Greetings With Love: The Book Of Valentines will hold year-round attraction for any interested in greeting card art, collectability, or history. The focus here is on antique valentines, with chapters surveying the earliest valentine in history to modern times. Over 20 vintage valentines from mechanical cupids to lace productions are detailed in a history which traces the changing trends of the day. Beautiful color photos of antique productions make for a bright, highly recommended coverage.
- If you love Valentines you need this book! It's the best!
