1. As a fairly new clock collector I was looking for information to help me when purchasing clocks off of ebay. This was the first book I bought and I haven't looked at it since the day it came in the mail. I came across the Tran Duy Ly books shortly after this and purchased one, the one for Ingraham clocks and watches. I used this book constantly and have since purchased three more, (for Ansonia, Seth Thomas and New Haven). I pull them out every time I am interested in a clock. They are extremely thorough and accurate. Plus, you can get updates just for the prices, you don't have to buy a whole new book.

   This book is going to be one that stays on the bookshelf and will rarely, if ever, be referenced. Purchase the ones by Tran Duy Ly instead.




2. Price Guide to Antique Clocks by Robert and Harriett Swedberg contains information on the identification of American clocks from the mid-19th century until about 1940. There are more than 600 photographs with identifying information in this book. These are different photographs than were included in their 1989 book, "American Clocks and Clockmakers". While prices for the clocks were given, there was no information about whether these prices were retail or auction prices or how the prices were obtained.

1. I am writing to advise that the availability listed by Amazon is very misleading. I ordered one on October 19 and my promised ship date now could be as late as December 24. I'd advise you to buy this book where you can rely on the shipping promised when you place the order. Sign me unhappy with Amazon.



2. Outstanding book on slag glass. Any one thats in slag glass will find this very helpful. Excellent pictures, tells the year it was manufacture, and tells what its worth than and now.

4. This is a good book for American or "recent" slag. It was informative, especially with the recent pricings in the back.

1. Take a trip down memory lane. The author, Michael Jay Goldberg really did his research when he created this awesome 70's book! His writing style is funny and informative. I really enjoyed this book a lot!



2. This 2001 edition of more than 200 pages covers all aspects of 1970s collectibles. It's loaded with large, sharp, full color photos of every type of collectible from the era. Major chapters run from nostalgia, fads, smiley faces, cookbooks and fashion, to Watergate, TV, Muppets, Holly Hobbie and Punk and New Wave. There's plenty of text provided, along with item values. Many of the long forgotten items of the period brought back pleasant memories of a simpler time. Enjoy, enjoy.



3. If you LOVE the 70s like I do then this is the book for you. It's filled with tons of groovy color photos and lots of info (not to mention memories!!) Sections of book on records,kitchenware(my fav). hippie drug paraphenalia,bicentennial and yep nixon collectibles.much more a funky section on mushroom collectibles. I recommend this groovy book. Let's hope Mr Goldberg publishes more especially on kitchenware!

1. Highly educational resource. I bought this book to transform my old white French Provencal bedroom set into something that looks more sophisticated. Looking forward to using the skills and materials that are well outlined in this book.



2. This book haves step by step illustrations and instructions on how to do antique effects. This book is one the best books I've bought to do antique effects for frames, chairs, cabinets, bed frames etc. The book list all the materials and the techniques.



3. This title is an excellent guide for beginners who want to reurbish old pieces or make new, mass produced furniture look expensive and antique. The illustrations are very helpful.
