1 comments about Quilts Sold!: A Guide to Heirloom And Antique Quilts.
- Kathy Prochnow is a regular contributor to Traditional Quilter and has long provided insight into the quilt auction marketplace and how it works; so it's a logical transition from column to book, gathering her knowledge in QUILTS SOLD! A GUIDE TO HEIRLOOM AND ANTIQUE QUILTS. Historical background blends with pricing information and details on how auction house quilts work to provide quilters with the most thorough coverage in print. Her researcher husband contributes his expertise to gather a comprehensive price list of auctioned quilts, making this a real winner.

1 comments about Miller's: Jewellery: Antiques Checklist (Miller's Antiques Checklist).
- It covers antique collectible jewellery from 18th century to modern, gives plenty of details on styles, materials used, hallmarking and things to look for when buying. For each category (i.e. Art Noveau brooches) it gives one representative item in picture and description + estimation of value, and several similar ones (different craftmanship or designer than the main example) but without the value (which bugged me a little). If it also offered a comprehensive table with all/most info arranged in one place, for quick reference, it would be perfect.

2 comments about Pokemon Summer 2000 Collector's Value Guide.
- I liked this book because it was easy to find the cards I wanted to look at in a short amount of time. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the prices were alittle high on the easy to get cards and in outer space for the rares and holo's. I find that its a great book though for a quick price check when I am buying or trading cards. I wish they would publish a updated book with all the new cards in it.
- This book tells you how much all the cards are including the new kinds of Pokemon.

4 comments about Epns Electroplated Nickel Silver, Old Sheffield Plate and Close Plate Markers' m: Arks, from 1784 (Dealer Guides).
- This reference book provides illustrations of the makers marks that were used by the more important producers of EPNS, old Sheffield plate and close plate in England from 1784 onwards. For each mark, the maker's name, location and the years in which the mark was used are given, allowing these plated items to be approximately dated.
Like another book in the "Dealer Guide" series, English Silver Hallmarks, this book is very clearly set out. As is pointed out on the back of this book, the marks in this book are arranged in two sections: one section for marks based on names or initials, where the marks are arranged alphabetically, and the second for pictorial marks where marks are arranged into groups of similar designs. This arrangement makes if very easy to find what you are looking for.
This book is a must for all collectors of EPNS and similar plated items.
- I was disappointed in the miniscule amount of information provided in this book. There are hundreds of marks, but almost no information that is helpful. With that said, I am a beginner, so my opinion might not be the best to rely on, but I would certainly not recommend this book for beginners like myself.
- If you collect English Victorian silver plate this book is a must. It has the most comprehensive directory of English silver plate makers marks I have ever seen. There are also Sheffield Plate marks which could come in handy if you can not decide if your piece might be electroplate or Sheffield Plate. If you collect American plate this book is not for you as there is little info on American marks.
- A wonderful reference guide. Within minutes, I was able to ID two pieces quickly and easily. Easy to use and very handy to carry with you to auctions and yard sales. It could contain some more dates specific to makers. All in all, a useful tool for the price!

2 comments about Fostoria Tableware: 1944-1986.
- I found this book quickly became my favorite, looking through and finding an extensive section on the heirloom pattern. It is hard to find info on this pattern this complete with lovely pictures and numbers. This is invaluable to Fostoria collectors.
- The section on Heirloom alone is worth the price of the book. Every piece is listed in every color, with prices, and dates! The photographs are in vivid color, with every piece identified. These gals have got it together. Milk Glass is a revelation as well. Lots of goodies in this book. Lots of color and more information than I've ever seen about this period. A must for Fostoria collectors!

4 comments about Collectors Guide to Barbie Doll Vinyl Cases: Identification and Values.
- Just what the novice barbie collector needs! I was pulling my hair out trying to tell one case from the next. This really helped me identify which of my cases were vintaigge and valuable. The book more than paid for it's self by the time I sold my first case.
- This book is absolutely WONDERFUL! I purchased this book to use as a handbook referral guide when I was buying up vinyl Barbie cases on Ebay for my collection. It is absolutely the "bible" for Barbie vinyl cases: the pictures are invaluable, & the information given is gold. If you are a serious Barbie vinyl collector, you MUST have this book--I would highly recommend to any Barbie collector!
- This book was extremely helpful in identifying all the vintage Barbie cases and the different variations. With the help of this book I was able to indentify and purchase several rare cases. I would recommend this book to all serious Barbie collectors! Many thanks to Connie Craig Kaplan for writing this book!
- Kaplan uses just the right blend of pictures and commentary to make this book an absolute "must-have" for the Barbie doll case collector. From the very first case all the way through the generic early '70's cases, Kaplan has it covered. There are mentions of late '60's vinyl lunchboxes, and she even displays coin purses, pencil pouches, and room/structures that double as cases. It doesn't appear as though she missed a thing in the genre. Kaplan has created a superb and interesting book with realistic prices that will not only entertain and help the reader reminisce; but, it will also have you running to your attic to see if you still have that old case of yours in the corner. Terrific!
