1 comments about Teddy Bear Collector's Record Book: A Guide to Managing Your Collection.
- This book is layed out simply; gives understandable instructions on its' use; and two different examples. Great way to catalog your collection and also to have a record of the number, type and value of your collection for insurance purposes should anything (ie. fire, theft) happen to your collection.Note: You would then want to store your book in a firesafe place!

2 comments about Collector's Guide to Candy Containers, Identification & Value: Identification & Values.
- A super, 200 page book complete with more than 500 large, sharp, full color photos. Plenty of background information is included. Major topics run from: Candy Container Descriptions, Animals, Cars, Characters and Fire Engines, to Motorcycles, Musical, Racers and Windmills. Collectors will surely enjoy looking at these great photos. Item descriptions are very complete. Values are provided. A very useful and enjoyable reference.
- This book is packed with photos of both common and scarce pieces. The information on these beautiful items is unmatched and worth owning for the pictures alone. My personal collection has more than tripled in size with the new found knowledge contained within the pages. You'll be thrilled as a collector and "armed" as a dealer. Don't go antiquing without it!

4 comments about Standard Catalog of American Cars, 1946-1975.
- This book is a good reference source for the meaningful information on cars produced through this period. We are not talking War And Peace, though from the heft of it you might think so. Very dry and factual. It also illustrates why alot of the 70's were a terrible time for cars. It even lists my old plymouth cricket!
- If you are a car buff you have to have this book. I own this book as well as the now out-of-print American cars 1805-1942. These are the bibles of car history. No other books have what these have. A real bargain for all the detailed information you get. Strongly recommended.
- Does anyone know if this book is available as a cd rom
- The Standard Catalog of American Cars is the best source for in-depth information on all makes of American cars. In addition to thousands of photos, the catalog includes specs, serial numbers, production totals, and current values on a 1 to 6 scale. Specs include original prices, weight, options, engines, overall length, wheelbase lenth, locations of factories, and much more. It's a great first source for anyone that's thinking of buying an older American car. It arms the potential buyer with enough information to have an intelligent conversation with anyone selling classic cars. With the information in this book, I've talked to sellers and knew more about their car than they did. As an old car collector and hobbyist, I've found it to be an indispensable tool. The only criticism I have is that I wish it had more photos in general, especially color.

5 comments about Ty Beanie Babies Summer 2000 Collector's Value Guide.
- Looking for a good book to give you information on your collection? I know this book sure helps me! This guide with it's color-filled pictures, and acurate Ty prices is the perfect book to help you with your collection. It also has bonus ways on how to tell a counterfeit from an original. I almost bought a counterfeit Pincess and Doby, if this guide didn't help me. It includes a time line of all Ty Beanie Baby events, plus information on how to tell which Beanie Baby will be expenisive in a year. I bought one for (sadly) $20 and it was $40 two months later. And don't forget, this book it good for all different stages of Beanie collecting! If you're a collector, this Beanie book is the book for you! :-)

- as a 'novice' beanie collector, this book has been the MOST helpful in learning to recognize all the beanies/teenies/et al; don't waste your money on any others, as I have... the pics alone are great; i would be totally lost without this guide!
- Ty Beanie Babies Summer 2000 Collecor's Guide is a great way to inventory your collection whether you collect Beanie Babies, Buddies, Teenie Beanies, or *New* Beanie Kids. This book details with a picture of each baby and value by version tags. It also has a guide to distinguish which "hang tag" or "tush tag" you have. Whether you have a large collection or just getting started, I highly recommend this book for you.
- Summer 2000 Collectors's Value Guide for Ty Beanie Babies is great. Packed with lots of useful information, colorful pictures of all, and places to record your collections. Includes new Beanie Kids too!

1 comments about Dictionary of Blue & White Printed Pottery Vol. 2 (Dictionary of Blue & White Printed Pottery, 1780-1880).
- The most comprehensive references on transferware pottery are basically boring lists: You use them to reference a specific item, and not much else.
This book is so much more.
It's a top reference work, but is also the sort of book you can put on the coffee table - or curl up with in bed for an absorbing couple of hours reading.
Highly recommended.

3 comments about Handguns 2001 (Handguns, 2001).
- Handgus 2007
Edited by Ken Ramage
Gun Digest 2007
Edited by Ken Ramage
What can I say?
They don't make them like they used to.
This is not your father's gun digest.
It has been a long time since I bought a Gun Digest but I am about to retire and I want to revive my interest in shooting spoorts. My primary interest is target shooting with handguns.
I expected to catch up on all the new stuff and read dozens of interesting articles and seel all the new models and perhaps some fondly remembered old ones.
Well, they don't make them like they used to.
I was severely disappointed. Only 17 articles total. Many of them historical. The ones that are not historical tend to have long, boring, historical introductions.
The Photography is absolutely beautiful. If you are interested in beautiful pictures of beautiful guns, buy the Gun Digest. If you are looking for information about guns, shooting, or hunting, stick to your regular magaziine subscriptions.
If you are interested in handguns, Handguns 2007 is worth the money but just barely. It does not have the slick paper photography but it does have 21 articles. Still a lot of boring historical stuff about how one company morphed into another 75 years ago but a decent amount of real information.
The catalog portion is a disappointment, it is neither organized or comlete. There are photos of guns with no descriptions and descriptions of guns with no photos. There are manufacturers who are not represented at all.
Summary:
If you are interested in handguns, buy Handguns 2007 only.
If you are interested in beautiful pictures of guns, buy the Gun Digest 2007.
If you haven't seen one on quite a while be prepared for a disapointment.
- This is an incomplete list of available guns in 2001. It also has guns listed that are no longer available. The pictures do not match up to the descriptions. There is a lot of useless information ie. air guns, lists of books about guns etc. I was disapointed with this book. I expected to see more information and reviews on available models. Did not even list Khar's 9MM, Guns and Ammo's Magazine Handgun of the Year winner in the book anywhere.
- It plays second fiddle to the Ken Ramage's other more comprehensive book on all guns- Gun Digest 2001. It basically features a broad selection of popular handguns... specs, data, pictures, etc. I'd recommend getting the full Gun Digest 2001 instead unless your love for firearms is reserved exclusively for handguns.

5 comments about Toys of the Sixties: A Pictorial Price Guide.
- This book is like an oversized, jam-packed version of the quarterly catalog Bill Bruegman put out for Toy Scouts, his retro-nostalgia toy hunting business. It's an oversized, black and white paperback with a full color cover showing lots of great toys. The inside is chock full not only of pictures of 'sixties era toys but also stories. One of the best is about the guy at Ideal who invented Mr. Machine (recently reproduced by Poof Toys). There's also great info about how Mattell came up with so many ingenious toys.
Many of the toys of this era would be outlawed today for insurance reasons. Companies like Tycho bought the molds and brought a lot of them back, sometimes in revised, safer versions. Due to books like this, some toys like Rock 'Em Sock "Em robots have made a comeback. Twenty bones might seem high for this book, but in my view it's a bargain, with hundreds of pictures to pore over, not to mention sprinklings of trivia and Bill's industry anecdotes. Not only that, but this book alerted me to a toy I never knew existed that I stumbled on at a thrift shop. Which is to say, it's a great place to start scouting.

- "Toys of the Sixties" is primarily a collector's tool, but in being so has a considerable listing of toys manufactured from the late 50's through 1970 or so. Without a doubt, if you grew up in this time, some of your toys will be listed here- and some toys you wanted but never received. All this said, even though my copy says "4th Edition" and the copyright is 1996, what prose there is, and the ads for additional material seem out of the 1980's. I couldn't find websites or email addresses for any of these catalogs, and no specified method of payment either. I would be cautious about using this book for collecting given the fact it's almost 10 years old, but a lot of memories will come back while reading it.
- Love this book. It has been a great help to my business (timewarptoys.com), and for my personal collecting. I wish he would do another! I highly recommend it for any child of the sixties or anyone that loves toys!
