1 comments about My Dwarf Rabbit (My Pet Series).
- There is so much information that you will find yourself reading the book over and over again, finding new things. I would recommend no other book on rabbits. When I picked up my new bunny, I picked up a few books and magazines on house rabbits. Read them, went on the web, read some more, but I was not satisfied. My mother picked up another book on rabbits and I thought it was going to be more wasted money. I started to read "MY DWARF RABBIT" and I realized within a few pages that this was no ordinary book. This IS THE BOOK, the one I had been looking for. I built a condo for my little rabbit, like Monika's, and he got excited and started running up and down the levels. When I went to kiss him good night, he started giving me kisses! I made a play area, like Monika's, including the sand box and my little rabbit is so happy that he'd rather play in the sand than be anywhere else. This is truly a useful book with GREAT PHOTOGRAPHS. The format is logical and well thought out. If you want a pet that is happy and well behaved, then this WONDERFUL book will guide you to that path.

2 comments about Hamsters A to Z.
- This book is great! I teach third grade and bought this book for my classroom library when we got our first hamster. When we got another species, I couldn't find the book! It's always in someone's desk so they can read it next!!
There are a lot of pictures and it's laid out in a simple manner. It's not confusing to read and laid out in a manner that I learned a lot and my third graders are learning a lot. It is great for children because it doesn't go too in depth on mating issues...it explains basics without graphic detail like I've seen in other books. The best section is on the hamster life cycle! I got two Dwarfs who happened to be male and female (unknown to me!) They've already had too litters and the kids are learning now about the hamster life cycle. This book has been invaluable for that. The kids are able to view pictures of the newborn babies without having to disturb mom.
- I trust Lorraine Hill to tell me everything I need to know about hamsters!
In this well organized reference book, complete with big, bright photos, the author presents answers to just about any question a new hamster owner might ask. It starts with hamster history and proceeds to tell about hamster care, species of hamsters, hamster habits, hamster health, and even a bit about showing and breeding hamsters. It's up-to-date, simple to understand, and covers all the basics. No new hamster owner should leave the pet shop without this book, esepcially if he's taking home a hamster as well!

1 comments about The Really Useful Guinea Pig Guide.
- I've been a guinea pig owner and cavy book collector for 20 years. If you're like me, you often check the page count of a book before deciding to buy it. If you do that with this book, you'll miss out on a wonderful slim volume. You'll also find that some long guinea pig books contain no meat, while a shorter one can be packed full. Having a slim volume like this can be great in an emergency, too, because you can more easily find what you're looking for. To help illustrate this book's in depth content, it "diagnosed" three health conditions in my piggies when vets provided inaccurate answers for two conditions (for the third, I found out quickly that the condition was completely benign and didn't require a trip to the vet).
Often it seems that the writing of pet care books gets handed off to staff writers who have no experience in what they're writing about, and a lot of the books thus contain errors that are rather glaring to long-time guinea pig owners. Not so with Ms. Mahoney's book--check out p. 4! Her enthusiasm for the subject matter clearly comes across, as does her expertise. She provides concise information in a fun format. Some readers may be put off by the fact that the book is illustrated not with photos but with comical guinea pig illustrations. To me, this is part of the charm of the book.
When I need a guinea pig book I can count on, this is the one I reach for on the shelf. If I could only have one guinea pig care book, this one would be it. The title of the book says it all!

1 comments about The Relaxed Rabbit: Massage for Your Pet Bunny.
- I got this book for Xmas, and was super excited. I am a little scared to try the massage, as it sounds like I could hurt the bunnies, some of it seems rough. It is a good book, but I think most people can figure out how to massage their bunnies, but for me, I like to have instructions.

- Great book for kids to care for their rabbits and understand them better. Even 7 yr olds can use this book
- If you are a rabbit lover, you would like this book. It has all the facts and information about rabbits. It teaches you a lot about rabbits. If you want a rabbit this book will tell you everything you need to know about rabbits. It also tells you things you should not do to a rabbit. This is why I thinnk you should read this book. Elizabeth G.
- This book is absolutely adorable, lots of bright pictures and easy to read information for young children. It helps young children learn to care for their fluffy friend. Adults and older children enjoy the abundance of pictures.
- This book is very helpful to me. I am getting a rabbit soon and it has some very helpful tips in it.

5 comments about Guinea Pigs: Barron's Complete Pet Owner's Manual.
- Much of the information in this book in innacurate and misleading. If you are interested in a basic care guide with relevant information, I would suggest The Essential Guinea Pig by Betsy Sikoro Siino.
- When my first piggie came to live with me I got one book, Peter Gurney's. However soon after I really wanted to learn as much as I could, so I bought many others, this was one. It is ok, it has really good basic information, but it is not complete. You should really look into other books as well, like The Proper Care of Guinea Pigs, by Peter Gurney.
Hope that this helps.
- You learn a lot from this book. It has both fun pictures, toy/game oppurtunites and a food guide, etc. A really fun, cool, interesting book! A must-have for raising a healthy guinea pig!!!
- A very helpful guide for all owners of guinea pigs. What I like most of this book is the section on the guinea pig's body language. This is something that other guinea pig guide books do not have. Owners will learn from this chapter on how to communicate with their piggies better.
I have found that books from the "Barron's Complete Pet Owner's Manuals Series" to be very helpful in terms of care of the pet for any pet owners.
- I like this book a lot because it helped me to learn how to take care of Gordy and Amy, my guinea pigs. You should buy this book it will teach you a lot!!!!

1 comments about The Field Guide to Rabbits (Field Guide To... (Voyageur Press)).
- This book is a good book for someone new to rabbits. It doesn't go much into care of rabbits, it is, as the name suggests, mostly a guide to identifying colors and breeds. It is well written and easy to understand, the photos are clear and the rabbits are good representatives of their breeds.
