4 comments about Roseville Art Pottery 2000 1/2 Price Guide Vol - IV.

  1. I would call this "book" more of a pamphlet. Author focuses too much on Roseville that I would call more rare. There was no identification for what I might call the more common patterns. This book probably would be of help to the collector who is targeting the higher end items. From a physical standpoint, one of the pages is not even bound into the pamphlet.

  2. This is the third year in a row that I have purchased Mr. Jenkins' price guide and I can say without hesitation that is head and shoulders above anything else available on the market. I have purchased and compared all the available guides on Roseville in the past and this is the only one worth consideration. Not only do you get the most accurate information on up to date pricing, he has included a very handy reference guide to shape #'s to aid in identification. And, perhaps most importantly of all, you receive expert information on the various lines of Roseville that are considered most collectible. There is a trend chart showing the percentage increase year-by-year for the last six years, thereby offering a look at the overall reported investment value of Roveville pottery. The guide also contains first-rate pictures of many of the lines and has text that is not only well written, it has perhaps that rarest-of-all quailties - it is information that is both usable and invaluable. After purchasing and looking at price guides for both Roseville and many kinds of pottery and other collectibles, I would only hope that others in the field would take a cue from true quality and follow the example set here.

  3. I could not believe how detailed this price guide is.It was well illastrated.Mr. Jenkins's price guide is the best on Roseville that is in the market. It was written in a way that is easy to follow. The collection on sunflower is the only photogragh of a complete set known in existance.AAAAA +++++

  4. Wow! The leading Roseville Price Guide has blasted into the new millennium. The glossary of shape number to Roseville Pattern is super along with the never published color plates to Sunflower and Rosecraft Vintage. This is a wonderful book that is much more than your standard price guide.

  1. Joy and Marvin Gibson have spent untold amounts of time and effort in assembling this collectors book. It is a *must have* for the beginning wall pocket collector. The items contained in the book are catagorized in such a way that the novice or professional collector can find the desired item very easily and quickly. Beautifully photographed with complete concise discriptions make a nightmare search into a pleasant dream. When not on the "HUNT", I pick up the book and browse through it's pages just for the sheer beauty contained within the covers. This is a MUST have for any wall pocket collector.

3 comments about Precious Moments by Enesco Collector's Value Guide 1999: Secondary Market Price Guide & Collector Handbook.

  1. This is a must for collectors! Each page presents 10 figurines (ornaments, tender tails, etc)in color with a full description of Issue Dates, retired dates, original retail price, figurine number, and how much it is worth according to the symbol. Also on the bottom of each page is a slot to pencil in how much your PM is worth and the price you paid for it. At the end of the book, there is a portion dedicated to calculate the total worth of your collection. The first portion of the book has a history of PM and a listing of the most valuable figurines. It also states how to take care of them, etc. The best feature is the indexes. You can search by the title or the stock number (which is on the bottom of the figurine). This book can be helpful if you purchase PM over an on-line auction. You can find out how much the figurine is worth before placing a bid. It has saved me money!

  2. "And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth." --Luke 12:15

  3. Beautiful book with a lot of helpful information. Authors obviously spent long time researching Precious Moments. Many pictures and good descriptions will help novice and advance collectors.

1 comments about A Collector's History of English Pottery.

  1. This is another superb example of this knowledgable author's work from one of the leading antiques reference works publishers, the Antique Collectors' Club. Following the path of the fascinating development of English pottery from before the Bronze and Iron Ages through to the productions of the early Staffordshire potteries and thence to the end of the Twentieth Century we feel well acquainted with all the main branches of English ceramics by the end of our journey. Illustrations are plentiful and of excellent quality making this book a pleasure to handle and 'dip into'. There is plenty of space devoted to the later decades of the last century dealing as the author does with the Leach familly, Lucie Rie and Hans Coper to name just a few out of many artist potters. I was surprised and delighted to see illustrated (page 130) a mug from the obscure Villa Pottery, Cobridge. I have a very similar example in my collection. Many authors would have shown an example from a more well-known pottery such as Masons. This book cannot be recommended too highly. You will not be disappointed.
