5 comments about More Pez for Collectors (Schiffer Book for Collectors).

  1. Once again Mr. Geary has out done himself. Just when you thought nothing else could be said about PEZ, Geary comes along with a book that is sure to be a hit with the true collectors. 10 STARS if It was possible.

  2. This book is the ultimate guide to pez collecting. Very informative and helpful for anyone collecting dispensers. If you don't like this book you probably can't read anyway. Must Have.

  3. Don't waste money on this book. It doesn't even deserve one star

  4. You you want pictures and prices. This is your first book to buy. The book shows variations of diffferent Pez. The only problem the prices are old. The sale of Pez is exploding and the prices are going up and up, but this book will get you started.

  5. This book includes mainly pictures and has more information regarding promotional materials, packaging, and accessories (t-shirts, etc.) than actual dispensers. Some information is slightly misleading but Pez afficianados will have little trouble enjoying what Geary has to offer here. Recommended only if you also have the first book Geary wrote ("Pez Collectables")

4 comments about Francie & Her Mod, Mod, Mod World of Fashion.

  1. This book is as close to being perfect as any can get in the Barbie world. Not only is it informative and well-written, it's fun too!

Each outfit is explained in detail, with each part listed, along with what parts may be more difficult to find, any variations in the outfit, etc. All of these items, where possible, are photographed flat and clearly so you can see each item separately and know what each thing is. Then, another photograph is taken on the doll, in a fun setting that usually goes with the name of the outfit somehow, so you can actually see how the outfit looks on a doll, something which I think is really important.

The photographs are great pretty much right across the board. The book is well-written, with a great sense of humour. All in all, you can't go wrong if you're into Francie and buy this book!

  2. Finally, a book with color pics of Francie dolls & fashions! I own Joe's "Vive La Francie" book and was disappointed the pics were not in color. This one is much better! Makes identifying and looking for items simpler. THANK YOU MR. BLITMAN FOR A WONDERFUL AND FUN TO READ GUIDE! :)

  3. The book was great, just think that it would have been better if there had been some of the Prototype out-fits in it. I wanted the book to see the out-fits that Francie had. Now I want to see the prototypes, because some of the clothes where a nice style, but fabric was ugly. Maybe Joe Blitman will do another book with all of Francies things in it.

  4. Blitman's book is drool-worthy. He has photographed Francie in every outfit she ever had, including the hard-to-find early seventies packs, and set the doll in cute scenes full of props and humor. I could pore over this book for hours enjoying the panache and verve Blitman conveys with his clever photos of Francie. But its not just eye candy -- each outfit is carefully modelled, on the doll and off the doll, and prices are listed. Invaluable. Thank you, Joe Blitman, thank you.

2 comments about Zippo Advertising Lighters: Cars & Trucks (Schiffer Book for Collectors).

  1. Advertising and Automobiles-A perfect advertising media for The Zippo! This fantastic book celebrates an era when people were not ashamed if their cars were gas guzzlers or if they (gasp!) smoked. All the greats-Ford-Hudson-Cadillac are here in brushed chrome splendor. Of interest is the tremendous coverage of the
    Tucker.
What a wonderful reflection of how things used to be.
Thank you ,Philip Taggart for a wonderful reference piece.

  2. It's a large coffee table type with colorful dust jacket which is duplicated on the cover. Not too much reading, but just enough to give you all the information you would need or want about Zippo lighters for both cars and trucks. (Mostly cars) Lots of detail, up close pictures of lighters and drawings from their design to colorful finished product. If you're into cars or Zippo lighters and want a book you will find hard to put down once you start looking and reading, this book is for you. I have never seen anything like it, and believe it will have wide appeal. If you see it, you'll want it! It's 190 pages and not a dull one in it.

3 comments about Collector's Guide to TV Memorabilia 1960s & 1970s: Identification and Values (Collector's Guide to TV Toys & Memorabilia).

  1. I don't really collect this sort of stuff but I loved this book because it brought back my childhood buying Beverly Hillbillies viewmaster sets, Charlie's Angels puzzles, etc. Contains hundreds of color photos of all sorts of merchandise: TV Guides, dolls, comic books, lunch boxes, coloring books, records, cups, all sorts of toys, etc. The shows profiled with memorabilia are The Beverly Hillbillies, Bewitched, Bionic WOman, Brady Bunch, Bugaloos, Charlie's Angels, Chips, Donny and Marie, Eight is Enough, Family, Family Affair, Fantasy Island, Flipper, Flying Nun, Gidget, Gilligan's Island, Good Times, Green Acres, H. R. Pufnstuf, Happy Days, Hardy Boys, I Dream of Jeannie, Josie and the Pussycats, Julia, Krofft Supershow, Kung Fu, Land of the Lost, Laverne and Shirley, Lidsville, Life & Times of Grizzly Adams, Little House on the Prairie, Love Boat, Mod Squad, Mork and Mindy, Nanny and the Professor, New Zoo Revue, Patridge Family, Patty Duke Show, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, Six Million Dollar Man, Starsky & Hutch, That Girl, Three's Company, The Waltons, Welcome Back Kotter, Wonder Woman. There are estimated values for the items circa 1997 but I would argue few have really gone up since then due to the phenomeon of ebay where tons of this sort of stuff is now on the market and even if you don't collect it's a wonderful look back at when TV shows really merchandised to the hilt. The guys have an awesome collection!

  2. i love i

5 comments about Hopalong Cassidy Collectibles.

  1. Featuring condition scale, current values, and full color photography of almost every item featured, Joe Caro's Hopalong Cassidy Collectibles is the definitive price guide for dedicated Hopalong Cassidy memorabilia collectors. The quality photography of hundreds of items, ranging from books to clothing, food ads, magazine articles, games, school items, toys and much more make Joe Caro's Hopalong Cassidy Collectibles ideal for Hopalong Cassiday fans who don't have hundreds or thousands of dollars to spend on these vintage treasures, but are interested in browsing through the these many minute artifacts of American popular culture. Most items have only a brief description, but some have slightly more involved commentary.

  2. This is the book. Whether you are a serious Hoppy collector, a novice beginner, or simply a fan of one of the greatest western character heroes ever, this book is a must. Extremely well written and organized it is a trip down memory lane. William Boyd, who played Hoppy, was one of the first cowboy stars who was also a marketing genius. This book shows why. This beautifully illustrated price guide encompasses the myriad of Hoppy collectibles that swept not only the U.S. but the world in the 1950s. Every kid wanted to be like Hoppy and as this price guide shows a trip to the store could fulfill that fantasy. You do not have to be a collector to enjoy this book. It will rekindle memories of the things you had as a child and might still have in your attic. To the collector this is an invaluable tool to assist you in evaluating what you have and what to search for. Well done Joe!

  3. Like many fans of Hopalong Cassidy I had toys and other items connected with the TV show collecting dust in my attic. I didn't realize how many Hoppy souveneirs I could collect. This book gave me price ranges but it also brought back some great memories with its detailed pictures and descriptions. Clearly this author knows his subject. I can't wait to increase my collection.

  4. I am happy to state that I have added Joe Caro's "Hopalong Cassidy Collectibles" to my library. It is worth every penny! As a writer, I can fully appreciate the hard work that went into this study - a must for every serious collector of Hoppy material as well as the novice who wants to know originals, reproductions and items that existed only in someone's "mind". A wonderful and colorful display gauranteed to bring out even the most "shy kid" back to when America was a gentler nation and everyone looked up to Hoppy - youngsters and adults and how we all wanted a Hoppy collectibles - whether it was a flashlight or a holster set! The reading is easy, the color photos dazzling and the market values makes the cost of this book minuscule compared to knowing what the curent values of these wonderful collectibles bring today! Joe Caro is to be congratulated for his exhaustive effort to make us smile again as we get re-acquainted with our he! ro - Hoppy! There is one drawback: Careful, pardners, it'll turn you into a kid again! Job well done!

  5. I have Joe Caro's first Hopalong Cassidy Collectibles book, plus his little known updated book.Joe's new Hopalong Cassidy Collectibles book has all the contents of the first two plus more. The merchandise Value guide on each collectible(original, reproduction and some fantasy items) gives the advanced and novice collector a price spread that's consistent with the Hoppy collecting market. With the collectibles being pictured in color, it gives the serious collector detail and brings out visual differences, in the many variations, that are being discovered by collectors, everyday. This book covers every catagory of Hopalong Cassidy collectibles so thoroughly and with such enthusiasm, by the author, that after an hour or so, of absorbing every page, imagining I was a kid again I found myself wanting to go out and start collecting Hoppy, as soon as I put the book down.

3 comments about Unauthorized Guide and Values to Snap-On Collectibles: 1920-1998 (Schiffer Book for Collectors).

  1. I was not happy with this book for a small time collector that I am. I collect many things and one of them being Snap-On (items). I found in this book with Tools ONLY being about 10 pages of pictures not enough about these items as well as many items that have been left out. The same go's for these other two catagories. Tool Boxes ONLY about 6 pages and Commemorative items only about 8 pages. I understand we can not meet ever catagory for ever collector in the Snap-On world. But it should have been covered alot more and or better on it. It was NOT just the above mentioned catagory that I found this it was as well as other catagories not mentioned in this book. Also I notice not much information was spoken on most of the items in this book. Such as how many have been made, They should of shown the diffrent types of commemoratives items, tools, tool boxes, ect. that Snap-On put out. Well you be the judge of it for youself. I wasn't happy with this book for the price, nor with Caroline's imput. I guess that's why it's called UNAUTHORIZED guide to Snap-On.

  2. Nice Book but was looking for more snap on die cast items to use a a reference. Didn't contain much.

  3. this book is must have for all of us die-hard snap-on enthusiats. it vigorously details the painstaking process that is collecting snap-on tools. i must comend her for her work.

  1. yea um, i thot this was pretty awesum, like totally cool dude!yea um, definately buy it, go barbie!

  2. This is a great book...it shows lots of great pictures of the fashions of Barbie from 1959 to 1998, however the name of the dolls were not included, just a short discription of the fashion. This was kind of disappointing, but if you are not interested in the identity of the dolls, then this book is a perfect pictorial of Barbie's world of fashion.
