1. Chock full of full-color photos, descriptions and values, this latest book from Hobby House Press is a great reference for any Barbie collector. Covering the years 1980-1990, author Margo Rana has described each doll in detail, depicting each with clear color photos, often several to a page. Boxes and fashions are also pictured. This is a book no serious Barbie collector will want to be without.

1. I first borrowed this book from the Library to look for prices for antiques and what I found was an amazing look into victorian life like I've never imagined. Very interesting.

1. I say this is quite a interesting little book.
   The PEZ pictures in this book was the reason I brought the book.
   It is very colourful, good photographs and the layout is well designed.

1. I have several price guides for stuff as it is part of being a collector. I have to say that this is a slim guide. The problem with it is the huge amount of comics covered in it. Their prices do not match Overstreet's and therefore this guide is lacking. There is almost no mention of horror movies promotional items. A good guide for horror toys but they promised so much more. Skip it and look for something better. Sorry.



2. This is probably one the most informative guide to anything and everthing horror that has been produced in the last 25 years. From everything to movieposters to memorabilia, Tomarts Guide to Horror is a must have for every horror fan. With full color pages how could anyone pass this up. I strongly recomend that if you buy horror movies regularly, you should definitely give this book a try.



3. I am a Freddy Krueger nut and I have all kind of junk collected from all over the place. This is a very concise guide with lots of pictures of almost all the items in it. For awhile it was my checklist of what I hadn't gotten a hold of yet. I love this and keep it close to my collection. It also made me aware of all of the other monster items that are out there in the horror genre. This book covers everything from classic movie monsters (nosferatu, Frankenstein,) to the newest sideshow and mcfarlane releases. I just hope they release a second edition soon to keep up with the new booming market of horror collectibles!

1. This is a fun little book. It's being little is my only complaint. For the price I would like to have had a bit more. However, it does have a lot of color photos nicely reproduced so you can really see the designs.

   It has a nice mix of furniture, accessories and even appliances from that period. Books that showcase museum pieces are nice to look at but "Affordable Art Deco" is for the rest of us -- those who want to create a Deco look in our homes. The authors give an idea of what things should cost, which is very helpful. For instance, two lighted art glass cigarette stands should run $75-$150, depending on condition. I've seen the same stands at an antique store priced at $400. I thought that excessive but now I have backup.

   I certainly don't regret purchasing "Affordable Art Deco" and would recommend it to anyone out there shopping for the real deal, e.g.; Not just looking at it in a museum.

1. How interesting can old American cigar labels be? Enough to fill up a full color 250 page coffee table book, at least.
   
   The book is more than just a compendium of old labels from deceased brands, but a history lesson, a seminar in the materials and processes used in generating the labels, and a discussion of the various themes explored in the artwork, i.e. patriotism, women, theater, sports and gambling, cowboys & indians, you name it. Finally, there is some very informative stuff on collecting cigar art, searching for historic labels and estimating value. The book is the most complete work on the subject of this type of collectable Americana, and as such is recommended to all interested in the field.



2. Any true collector will appreciate Davidson's initial edition, and followup version, "Smoker's Art". For those of us who pore over piles of stuff seaching for a winner, be it cigar labels or anything else, this book is a treasure trove of high quality art.



3. As a graphic designer this book has served me well on many projects. It is detailed with a large display of labels that are well reproduced for the viewer. The catagories add a variety subjects to the art of labels which is why many of us feel this book is like a bible. It is the most complete book so far on this subject.
