5 comments about Human Anatomy Coloring Book (Colouring Books).
- It's great practice and a very helpful book! Worth the money if you're willing to do the work!
- basic review of human anatomy at a decent price...good guidance on what color to use on what pages...when done coloring the whole book, you will know a lot about basic anatomy of the human body
- I give extra credit to my BIO 209 & 210 students for completing this book, and they all say they're surprised how much value they got from doing the coloring. Simple drawings that make it easier to understand the shape and location of various organs, and how they tie in with others. Text is straightforward and concise. It's gotten to the point now, after about 4 semesters of my using this coloring book, that students are asking for coloring books for my other classes, and A&P students want extras so their own kids can "do homework" with Mom or Dad.
- I am using this coloring book with my 10 year old son. He enjoys coloring the pictures and reading the information contained in each page. It definitely is a great complement to our human anatomy class. This book is great for his age group but it could also be very useful for a middle age or high school student. For my 6 year old son I use My First Human Body Book, also from the Dover Coloring series. This second book is perfect for his age group and he is having a great time with it.
- This book took a long time to come but it arrived in the window of time, a little bent out of shape but good.

5 comments about Zentangle Basics.
- Friend told me about process so I was interested to see what it was all about. Book arrived safe and sound though I have yet to try technique!
- If you haven't tried Zentangles, then your doodles just don't have the impact that this book will give you. I took my doodling to a whole new level and learned to shade and combine various patterns. Make your doodle time really relaxing and creative then go back to your "real" life refreshed and ready to think creatively.
- I think this book is excellent for all ages. It really opens a true art for thse who like to doodle on everything in there spare time. It takes you beyond the margine or the back of an envelope to draw on. I recommend it, if you have artistic talent or not it just fun to Zentangle.
- First became aware of tangles from an Internet arts site. Went in search for instructions, eye candy! This is the book for beginners, in a very short time your an expert Zentangle!
The book is a basic instructional book of techniques for the tangles. Gets you started straight away.
But, be warned...it is extremely addictive! You have been warned. lol
- Don't bother buying the book. Just about all the patterns can be found on the authors blog site. I felt I really wasted my money.

5 comments about Card Making with Cricut (Annie's Attic: Paper Crafts).
- The book has some good ideas for how to make cards using cricut cartridge. The only disadvantage is that you may want to buy the cricut cartridges that you don't already have when you see their neat ideas!
- I was so excited to get this book! Wish there were a lot more ideas in it. Very small NOT worth the money.
- There were some cute ideas, it was helpful to see how some of the cartridges were used. I didn't find the cards outstanding, but there were some useful hints.
- I think I'm going to love this book. I'm so not creative, so to have patterns that tell me exactly which cartridge and size to use is awesome. There are a few cards that are basically just cutting out the Wild Card images and putting them together, but to have the color schemes to look at is nice! I would buy again!
- I enjoyed this book,I have acricut personal cutter and this book gave me some new ideas.

3 comments about Scrapbooking with Cricut (Annie's Attic: Paper Crafts).
- I was very disappointed. Even though Cricut is a new techique for scrapbookers, this book is outdated, presents basic, very poor projects to be done with Cricut. There is nothing new. It seems it was made to be used by children... I wish I could have my money back.
- I bought this for my wife and its really gotten her creative juices flowing. She routinely flips through it, with notepad in hand scratching out new designs for cards and layouts. She's a beginning crafter and though some of designs are beyond her capability (for now) there are enough designs at variety of skill levels to prevent her from being frustrated. The variety of themes will also give her enough ideas for layouts for all the hundreds of pictures sitting in the shoe box in my office.
This makes a great gift for any beginning crafter or to reignite the creative juices of the craft veteran.
- I thought this book would provide me with new ideas and techniques; it did not. I thought the scrapbook layouts were unintersting and not very creative. It won't be much of a resource for me.

5 comments about Collage Lab: Experiments, Investigations, and Exploratory Projects (Lab Series).
- I have found the book no use at all. Maybe if you're brand new to any kind of collage or mixed media you might find some inspiration so that you could go on and find out how to implement your ideas on your own. I usually consider a book worth having if I can find at least two projects that get me excited. I didn't find any here. I've been working professionally with mixed media and collage for 7 years, and I was looking forward to receiving such a well reviewed book.
There's not much "how to", just a lot of generalities, and the only images that got my attention and thinking, "Hey, now this is more like it", when I turned the page, the instructions are for entirely different pieces.
Here's one example of the instructions:
Page 78 "Handmade"
"Learning Objective: To investigate handmade papers.
Materials * Papermaking kit which should include a deckle, mold, and pulp materials as well as instructions.
or
* Plan a field trip to a paper store and purchase at least five different sheets of handmade paper.
Step 1. If the option to make paper was chosen, follow the kit instructions and make paper."
I'm only slightly irritated about having purchased the book, and I'll keep it till I clean out my shelves and donate it, but when a book just doesn't cut it, I wish reviewers would review the negatives as well. This system fails when all we do is write glowing reports about everything because those are the only ones that get chosen as "helpful".
- I read this book cover to cover and plan to go through some of the workshops. I found some new techniques as well as some experiments to do with old techniques. The process given to work through makes you ask yourself some questions like whether you liked the technique, whether you thought you could change it etc. A different approach to learning something. More like experiments to perform and learn from.
- This series has been great for me in terms of being able to do an exercise every day, know that I'm improving, but not completely stressing out! Instructions are clear, the labs don't take more than an hour, the results are fantastic, everything is usable. Great value.
- I'm enjoying this book a lot - very inspiring. I've only tried a couple of things but am looking forward to doing a lot more. Wait til summer vacation!
- I would recommend this book for artists just getting started and needing to know the basics. There is a lot of techniques that I was already familiar with. It has amazing inspiration though. Still, a great reference book.

5 comments about Creative Wildfire: An Introduction to Art Journaling - Basics and Beyond.
- This book is vibrant and filled to the brim with inspiration and eye candy. I've loved all of LK's books but this might be her best yet. In the interest of full disclosure two of my journals are included but even if they weren't I would love it.
LK's genius is teaching you how to create deeply personal content using your own photos and words. She has provided clear, detailed instructions on binding your own journal, creating painted pages with her amazing scraped painted surface technique, using your photos, reductive stenciling and so much more. In addition to the in depth instructions, to get you started she's included loads of what she calls fire starters and tips.
The interviews with other art journalers and photos of other artists journals are my favorite parts. I love the peek into artists journals. You'll find some old favorites along side some new names throughout.
The final treat is the small journal included in the back. She has used scraps from the printing process to create a unique, portable journal for you to play with.
- Creative Wildfire begins with instructions for simple bookbinding Cover To Cover: Creative Techniques For Making Beautiful Books, Journals & Albums and cloth book wrapping to create surfaces for visual communication. Journal privacy is prioritized since avoidance of literary content is implied, with interpretation opaque except to the visual journaler.
The central portion of Creative Wildfire provides specific directions for image transfer, gesso on cloth, wood, gel transfer, stencil, reverse stencil, bleach stamping, sewing, layering, collage, etc to engage hands and mind in non-verbal inner exploration. Intriguing illustrations engage brain occipital lobes, kindling sequential connections in the hippocampus, central to memory and learning. Living the Creative Life: Ideas and Inspiration from Working Artists, Creative Time and Space: Making Room for Making Art, Art Making & Studio Spaces: Unleash Your Inner Artist: An Intimate Look at 31 Creative Work Spaces.
Creative Wildfire's final section encourages development of individual style beyond technique. Powerfully written journal excerpts can be found in Art Journals and Creative Healing: Restoring the Spirit Through Self-Expression, Inner Journeying Through Art-journaling: Learning to See And Record Your Life As a Work of Art and Fearless Creating: A Step-by-Step Guide To Starting and Completing Your Work of Art.
The human desire to communicate via hand made, unique, personally meaningful mark-making evokes unequaled passion, even as e-books expand the ways humans interact with media. Creative Wildfire offers the technical guidance needed to find voice for emotions.
- LK Ludwig is writing some of my favorite books on art journaling. I have taken some of her recent online classes and am thrilled to see some of the bookbinding and art techniques from class in this new book! I LOVE THIS BOOK. It is a MUST have for visual journal keepers.
- LK's book Creative Wildfire has everything! Learn things like book binding techniques, how to choose a journal, different page surface painting techniques, how to gain inspiration, get a glimpse into other artists books... the list goes on. She really covers the spectrum of journaling and does it well. There's even a removable recycled journal in the back of the book which you can use to get started. I bought this book last weekend and have not put it down... I love it!!
- I was looking for a way to add more interest to my art journals. "Creative Wildfire" was just what I needed. This is the third book I have purchased by this author/artist. Whether you just testing the water or have been art journaling for a long time, you will discover new ways to add color and visual texture to your pages. The instructions are presented clearly and with a great deal of encouragement. I've often wondered about the creative process of others and was delighted to "peek" into the minds and journals of many talented artists, including the author. I've tried several of the techniques presented in this book and have had great success. I particularly love the gelatin mono-print process and the endless possibilities that it provides.....all with supplies you probably already have at home. I also loved the bonus of the blank recycled journal. What a great way to reuse! Although I've only had this book for about a week, it already has the worn look of a very loved book.....

5 comments about The Cardmaker's Workbook: The Complete Guide to Design, Color, and Construction Techniques for Beautiful Cards.
- Nice illustrations, easy to follow instructions, inspired lots of other card making AND scrapbooking ideas that were not included in the book. Very happy with this purchase!
- Great cardmaking ideas. Lots to share and covered many techniques that I thought were far more difficult than they were to do. I'll use this book often.
- This book is great for card ideas. It offers great advise and step by step instruction to make fabalous cards.

5 comments about Masters: Collage: Major Works by Leading Artists.
- I really enjoyed this book. The writing was interesting and improved your understanding of the artists work. I appreciate the fact that this was not a how to book. It is a wonderful survey of college artists, whose work is relevant today.
High quality pictures, many images of each artist's work and nicely laid out.
- Any arts and crafts collection will find Masters: Collage a powerful pick, presenting a strong survey of collages form leading modern international artists working in the medium. Each page holds one or two several good-sized color photos of the collage, brief descriptions of medium, and makes for a fine portfolio of varied techniques and examples. A wonderfully varied pick of techniques!
- My book has drool marks on it! It is soooo inspiring. The quality and photos are great, the artists cutting edge. I carried it around everywhere for a week, stopping to look at it every spare moment. Need I say more? I hope Lark Books expands to painting, mixed media, etc. I'd buy them all.
- If you have any interest in collage as an art form, this is a beautiful book of inspiration. There are no how-to's, just examples of each artist's work spread over 8 pages for each, a brief description of the artist and their work and a few comments by the artist. Styles cover the gamut and I was happy to see two artists who were strongly influenced by Romare Bearden, the greatest and possibly, the most prolific, collage artist of the 20th century. Some of it may be stuff that leaves you cold, other that truly inspires, something for everyone here.
- As a collage artist, I eagerly awaited the release of this lavish book. I enjoyed the works presented over a number of mornings with my cup of coffee in the bright June sunlight. I didn't want to come to the end!
The variety of artists represented is impressive. The brief insights shared by them are personal and revealing. The color reproductions are truly lovely. So, that said, get this book, grab your coffee and relish! Thanks to Randall Plowman for his efforts and vision.

5 comments about School Years: A Family Keepsake of School Memories.
- I'll get my one complaint out of the way, and that's that it is smaller than 8.5x11, so it will involve "folding" of sheets, report cards, etc to fit into the pouches. But besides that fact, this is a very wonderful little school memory book! It has all the important information to fill out on each Grade page and I love that it's bound together by metal coil. The school days book that I have from my childhood was bound with plastic coils and glue, and it's falling apart! So the fact that this is metal coils, I believe will keep the book more sturdy and in tack. I would recommend this book to anyone.
- I like the section titles - fun info to remember later on. I especially like the folder where you can stash report cards, awards, etc from each year. I bought one for each of my 3 kids, since my oldest started kindergarten this year.
- This book is great for keeping memories of your children from the start of school!
- This Keepsake holder is great, but it will not hold 8 1/2 X 11 paper.
It has room to hold many item.
- I love this keepsake album! I have been searching for years for an album that would hold as much as I like to keep. There are envelopes for each year and a place for children to write names of their friends, hobbies, and my favorite-what they would like to be when they grow up. I love it and recommend it for parents who like to stay organized.
