1 comments about Fortune Collecting Mini Journa.
- The book is as described, basically a blank journal with places available for pasting in fortune cookie messages and writing your own notes about them. I bought it for my cousin who enjoys eating at Chinese restaurants and she thought it was a delightful way to organize her fortune collection, which has up to then been housed in a simple envelope.
It has a nice, sturdy cover and a strap to keep it closed. The pages are crisp and laid out in an attractive manner. There are a lot of pages to fill, more than enough to keep a regular diner organized.
This is definitely a fun little something for anyone you know who enjoys fortune cookies.

2 comments about Edwardian Scrapbook.
- "The Edwardian Scrapbook" is simply wonderful. You can get a true sense of Britain through pages of royal souvenirs, the latest inventions for the household, food products, advertisements, sweets, toiletry items, tobacco, the Women's Social and Political Union, women's fashion, newspapers, magazines, comics, books, toys, postcards, traveling, motor cars, airplanes, table tennis, diabolo, roller skating, theatre, and international sports. The pictures are wonderful and this book goes great along with "The Victorian Scrapbook." I recommend.
- This is Robert Opie's seventh unique style scrapbook. The very simple formula works yet again, this time he has collected 1300 printed items from his packaging museum all relating to everyday life in Britain from 1900 to 1910.
Like the previous books, the material is laid out as a still-life and then photographed. If you want to see what printed items Mr and Mrs Average had in their homes it is all included here, food packets, comics, newspapers, magazines, postcards, candy bars, boxes of toys and more.
If I have a criticism it is that there are eight pages that have only one item, I would have preferred maybe four of these to be crammed with items like the other pages.
Social historians and graphic designers, amongst others, will enjoy looking through this book and with the other titles in the series it is building up into a tremendous visual resource of everday British life.

2 comments about Classic Muscle Car Advertising: The Art of Selling Horsepower.
- I have Mitch Frumkin's first two books, and I must admit this one is better, picture wise. His first two contained just b&w photos and not much text. This book is wall to wall color, which really brings the ads to life; some ads are even reproduced in their original size. Very cool - A+ on that account. However, this book contains much more text, which should have been a nice compliment to the ads, but unfortunately, there are a number of errors. Yes, I realize that one person cannot possibly know every little detail, and we are constantly finding out new facts about muscle cars, but if you have the ads in front of you, and hopefully the magazines they came out of, you should know the correct years of the cars and the dates the ads ran. In other words, model year 1971 cars were not advertised in late 1969.
Also, I feel a number of historic ads were left out in this publication that should have been included. For example, there were several ads that were pulled by the manufacturers almost immediately after they ran, because they were considered too contraversial. None of these are here. Maybe Mitch wanted to offer the public some fresh material. The problem here is, his first two books are out of print. Quality used copies are going for good money and are becoming hard to find.
Aside from those two nick-picky points, overall, it is a cool book. Would make a great gift. Buy a really nice used copy, you won't be disappointed.
- I was impressed by Muscle Car Mania and Son of Muscle Car Mania but Mitch came up trumps this time as we benefit from colour print - the best way to see the psycadelic Plymouth ads of the 60's. If you like muscle cars buy this book.
