- I read the online Publishers Weekly review and I strongly disaagree. I would buy this book for the black-and-white photos alone. They're complicated. Touching and absurdist at the same time, they slyly refer to the history of painting and early sci-fi, and the ones taken in the purported "basement laboratory" bear an eerie resemblance to pictures from Abu Ghraib. - What a beautiful way to pass through time! Over 50 6x8 photos of the great works of Dale Chihuly. Excellent quality pictures printed on thick paper. I especially liked the fact that the pictures were printed back to back, not on the back of the calendar page you would write on, so you could frame them if you wanted to. Exposes owner to the many styles of Chihuly and makes you want to learn more about him. I will definitly be getting some of his books now. Great gift idea!!
- This calendar is excellent for Chihuly fans. The photographs are full color and incredible! Even if you don't need the calendar, this is an inexpensive way to get an album of Chihuly's work.
