1. This book is an excellent compilation of the world's best contemporary artists. Adamson, one of the foremost printmaker's today, has captured the essence of the current photographic genius and collected it into a representation of not only what they are producing now, but also providing amazing glimpses of where they are taking their art in the future. Highly recommended for enthusiasts and amateurs alike.



2. Came across this book as it was featured in "O" magazine, great production and lavish illustrations of works by some of the world's foremost artists who work at this atelier.

"Atelier Adamson" is a lovely survey of some of the foremost contemporary artists working today; beautifully rendered work by Chuck Close, Donald Sultan, Annie Leibovitz, Jim Dine and Robert Longo, to name a few, with rich, full-page images. The book is a catalogue for an exhibiton of prints from Adamson Editions, a digital atelier in Washington DC. David Adamson is the leading digital printmaker in the world, the caliber of artist that he works with, and the quality of the images proves this. 1. If you know a gal who loves dogs, this is the book. It is a sweet & touching volume with lovely illustrations. I bought several for gifts. I've never seen anything like it. It's a winner!

1. I have to admit I was a little dissapointed with this book. Many of the photos look like they were taken with an early generation digital camera and are of such poor quality that it is actually a distraction. That said, the material mostly consists of models in a performance art space, and is interesting and fun to see. Some are candid and behind the scenes or during a rehearsal, while others are "live". Normally, I would have given it 4 stars, but the low quality of half of the shots forced a 3.

1. This is the most useful guide to shopping for contemporary Czech and Slovak glass in its countries of origin. I have recommended it to all of my glass club members. Amazon.com, get more copies!!!!!



2. Having purchased glass from several of the factories mentioned in the book, I must attest that the information displayed is quite accurate. I will be using this referance book to guide me to other factories of interest. The great thing about the book is the detail about finding some of these factories. I only wish that I would have had it available on my first trip.



3. This is probably the best book I've seen on contemporary Czech glass. It explains all the triumphs and pitfalls the Czechs have experienced over the last century, and the exquisite glass they've produced nonetheless. It also gives valuable insights on contemporary Czech studio glass. A very valuable work.



4. This is a beautifully illustrated book which provides a complete tour of the most important glass producers in the Czech and Slovak Republics. Besides well written narratives about glass, its history and production techniques, the book provides important descriptions of the major artists with full colour pictures of some of their works. It is concise but well thought-out and is an important guide for the collector, the tourist, and anyone fascinated with beautiful glass. It is clearly the work of someone who loves and understands glass and who has taken great effort to share her passions. If you are interested in glass and are planning a trip to the region, it should be as important as any tour guide!

1. While this is a very good document, it isn't the ART book I had hoped it would be. As an artist, I learn far more visually than I do from all the talking. I wanted a book of plates with some discription. I got a lot of expensive discription and not very many illustrations and even fewer close-ups and details. If you are an illuminator, this may not be the book you want it to be. If you are looking for a history book, I'm sure it will be a nice addition to your library.
