1. I enjoyed reading this book immensely....it was informative and inspirational. The history of tile-making is shown to be a long and worldwide affair. Some of the photographs are beautiful. I would have liked a little more detail on the techniques various cultures and artists used to make these tiles. Some of the 'advice' on using tile seemed a little banal, and I was frustrated at the lack of a bibliography. That said, I would highly recommend the book as a starting point for those interested in the history and variety of tile design.

1. In 1995, the Victoria & Albert put on an exhibition of Wedgwood to mark the 200th anniversary of the death of the founder, Josiah Wedgwood. I was fortunate to be in London on business and took in this amazing display of pottery. This book is a companion to that show and has several fine articles on the major pieces and the development of Wedgwood as a commercial enterprise and an art form.
   
   The book also has the catalogues of the various displays and so provides much helpful information on major Wedgwood pieces for those who follow this kind of thing. I should also say that the V & A has an outstanding display of Wedgwood available every day. So, the next time you get to London you should head to the museum and take it in along with all the other wonderful pieces they have in their many halls.
   
   The book has many color photos and many more in black and white. I think it still has value for Wedgwood enthusiasts and the curious as a general book rather than being an obsolete exhibition program.

1. This book was a gift for an artist. He greatly enjoyed the book and found it helpful in his own work.



2. As one who has visited the Judaica collections of the Israeli Museum many times I can attest that this volume is a faithful reflection of many of the finest works there. This is a wonderful volume for all who take interest in Judaica. I would however question the word 'masterpiece' in the title of the work. Many of the fine pieces of craftsmanship shown may receive highest praise as what they are- but this does not mean that they are artistic masterpieces.

1. Although this is a book about the historical development of that fertile field in Art called "Conceptual", it is really a ground work on understanding and using the ideas found in the history of the field for use on computers and telecomunications devices.

   The essays gathered here will give the reader much to think about in how they perceive Art and Technology and the philosophical basis for a new aesthetics.

   Once thought passe, the reader will find that the foundations of Conceptual Art is alive and well, and that it is anything but passe with our relationships to new developing technologies.
