5 comments about Sticky.
- I enjoyed every single page of Dale Lazarov's book, Sticky, I found it very sexy if you are into comics, however after going through all the pages once, I didn't check it again. Must of the stories had a similar conducting line. Overall it is a very good and well done book.
- I have to say I was underwhelmed by this book. The lack of text makes it more accessible to a wider range of readers, and the story lines were clearly understandable from the drawings, but the art style was somewhat off. It's hard to say why, exactly, but there were several times when the proportions seemed odd, and that distracted from the overall hotness of the message.
- This is a fun book, contains no text - only wonderful illustration, a bit confusing storywise but it hardly mattars as it's really just about the sex, and there is plenty of that!
- Horrid Artwork... very unerotic... bodies looked deformed most of the time (and not in a good way)... very disappointed!
- This book is a perfect gift for those who love real men: not boys, but men, masculine, strong, big, beefy - and hairy! - men. The pictures are nicely drawn and you can contemplate the sheer masculine beauty though a bit exaggerated (or idealised?) but I guess it's normal in comics. Stories (I think we can call them stories though you won't find a word in "Sticky", just drawings) are simple - indeed, Lazarov and MacIsaac's men know what they want without a word and obviously can enjoy it. It's real pleasure to have this book by your bed - can be very inspiring (look at the books on some pictures, you'll see how the real men can use this book)! But be prepared for getting sticky!

4 comments about Dirty Pictures: Tom of Finland, Masculinity, and Homosexuality.
- All gay men should know who Tom of Finland is. You're bound to see a picture or two in gay bookstores, bars and galleries. If you're not familiar with Tom, then you need to get out more often!
I found *Dirty Pictures* not just fascinating with these wonderful and eye-catching pictures but educational with Tom of Finland's background and his intentions/purposes behind each pictures.
It's amazing how having a network with friends can lead one to be legendary, if you could call it that. Prior to meeting Andy Warhol and Robert Mapplethorne, Tom of Finland's works were just considered pornographic. Over time, that gradually changed.
I wished this book contained all of Tom's pictures, along with a background for each of them. However, with what knowledge that I've learned here, I cannot wait to see the other works of Tom's and do my own analyses. That's the fun part.
- tom of finland is a demonstration and if you re intrested in gay-art you must have this book as soon as you can ....so this masculity is supported by heavenly drawings
- "The art of Touko Laaksonen (1920 1991), famous throughout the world as Tom of Finland, has had an incredible and defining impact upon the culture at large an impact that arguably exceeds that of any other artist working in the latter half of the 20th century. It is perhaps even more remarkable that Tom of Finland was not a traditional fine artist his work was most commonly regarded as gay pornography, and rightly so. Yet it is art that not only had a tremendous impact upon the emerging gay culture worldwide but whose erotic and emotional power remains unabated to this day. For millions of fans throughout the world, as well as those unfamiliar with Tom of Finland¹s art, this book brings uncommon insight into a decidedly uncommon body of work." - text excerpt from Stonewall Inn
- If you love Tom of Finland, you will absolutely love this book. Seemingly hundreds of his prints, even such rarities from his early work, grace this book and give it a flavor that seems to be lacking from other pictorials. This book is utterly delightful and insightful as to the man himself. It was wonderful and I'd recommend it to anyone. Five stars all the way!

2 comments about Athenian Vase Construction: A Potter's Analysis.
- excelent book! great comprehensive collection of the vase shapes, styles, and discussions on the most likely ways they made them and why.
right to the point when you want it, and a historical discussion as well with clay & glaze chemistry details. the summary of shapes all on one page (well, 8 pages!) is inspirational for me. i never saw them presented this way. step by step photos of constructions. i can see collectors using this book to understand how the pots were made and used. and i CERTAINLY can use this book to try making vases myself in the "old" style. find the paperback version to save some $$$ see ya steve
- Athenian Vase Construction: A Potter's Analysis details in a comprehensive, step-by-step fashion the manner in which the major Athenian vases (one of the world's finest ceramic traditions) were made. Photographs of potter from the Getty museum and other collections provide evidential documentation (from the interiors and exteriors of the pots themselves) as to how they were formed and constructed, while line drawings illustrate how the potter worked. Highly recommended for personal, professional, and academic reference collections, Athenian Vase Construction showcases them as painted masterpieces, from their graceful lines and elegant proportions forming an enduring aesthetic of form and beauty that has never been surpassed and rarely equaled in the more than two thousand years since their original creation.

1 comments about Roni Horn (Contemporary Artists).
- roni horn has had a strong impact on contemporary photography . Her works incorporate the ideologies of many important movements of contemporary art which have been underrepresented in the fine art photgraphy world....this may be contested but i think that in the majority of the FA Photography there are extremely conservative currents, that run back to its stepchild role among the "truely" fine arts. Thankfully horn represents a challenging view for photography.

1 comments about Contemporary Enameling: Art And Technique (Schiffer Book for Artists).
