1. I had ordered two copies of this book
   One as a birthday gift, and the other for myself
   When they arrived both books had smeared ink on the cover
   I think it was the printing ink used
   Since these were the last two books in stock, they could not be replaced
   
   I feel that whoever ships out books should pull any books with defects, than notify the buyer,
   
   I decided against giving the book as a gift



2. Noguchi is truley a master. The most complete catalog of this artists work in clay. As a ceramic sculpture student, this book has given me a world of new insight ang inspiration. Noguchi has been an influence for me for some time and it is wonderful to have such a wonderful resource. Louise Allison Cort has done a remarkable job and I look forward to future catalogs.

1. This book was a gift for an artist. He greatly enjoyed the book and found it helpful in his own work.



2. As one who has visited the Judaica collections of the Israeli Museum many times I can attest that this volume is a faithful reflection of many of the finest works there. This is a wonderful volume for all who take interest in Judaica. I would however question the word 'masterpiece' in the title of the work. Many of the fine pieces of craftsmanship shown may receive highest praise as what they are- but this does not mean that they are artistic masterpieces.

1. I should have read the editorial review more closely. It means it when it says this is a sweeping survey. Not even close to being a helpful book for buying Hull. I bought it hoping it would be of help when looking through ebay listings. So far, I am batting less than 50% at finding items in this book. Patterns are not complete listings, only 'surveys' as the editorial review says. Patterns are not even always grouped together in the same pages of the book, either. And there is no kind of listing by Hull ID number to be able to find items quickly. Even when they are, pictures show many items in one picture and the description is sometimes confusing as to which piece is what. Labeled pictures of collections are sometimes shown, but not priced, and some of the items show up no where else in the book. I am very dissapointed. On the positive side, the pictures are great, and as promised it shows a wide variety of the types of items Hull made. Prices are right next to each picture, so you don't have to do the annoying 'flip to the back' unless you are doing it to try to find your item in the idex because it isn't with the rest of the pattern on its page! Overall, a nice book to look at and read, but if you are planning on using this for identification and pricing, get something different.



2. I am an amateur collector, and I reviewed more than a dozen books on Hull Pottery at several book stores (then, of course, I purchased it from Amazon). This one was by far the best of the lot. Best photos. Best variety of items. Best organization. If there is a better book out there on Hull Pottery, I sure would love to know about it, because I haven't ever seen one. Highly recommended to anyone interested in Hull pottery.



3. This Hull reference is thorough, but certainly not definitive. Synder's photos are vastly superior to those in Brenda Robert's The Collector's Encyclopedia of Hull Pottery. Color quality is better and shows the subtle variations found in the same lines of Hull art pottery making accurate identification much easier for the novice. Prices are also included in the cutlines with the pictures eliminating the need to flip back and forth between the photos and a price list somewhere else in the book. All in all I would recommend this book to any serious Hull collector.

1. Schiffer Publications, Ltd., provides helpful guides to collectors of dozens of items. The older "Historical Staffordshire" is a wonderful reference for lovers of all English Staffordshire pottery, though it does not specifically address its kin "Romantic Staffordshire." For those of us who especially collect Romantic Staffordshire, the publication of this new Schiffer guide in November was a long-anticipated occasion. 100's of glossy beautifully-photographed pieces and their markings, with detailed histories of manufacture, descriptions and origins of motifs, histories of significant Staffordshire potteries, and even estimates of value create an astonishing identification tool for all collectors, serious or casual. Thank you, Schiffer!



2. Schiffer Publishing, Ltd., references are always excellent visual and educational resources for collectors, but until November their guide to antique "Historical Staffordshire" pottery styles was the only title available in its category. References focused on antique "Romantic Staffordshire" are scarce, so it was with delight I learned of this guide's recent publication. 100's of beautiful glossy photographs help collectors identify pieces in their collections. EXCELLENT photographs, detailed descriptions, explanations of creation and manufacture, origin of motifs, as well as history of important English potteries and approximate values make this guide a vital tool for any Staffordshire collector, casual or otherwise. 1. Riley's and Rimmer's guide is a must-have for serious comsumers of pornography, covering, as it does, the years when (arguably) porn first skirted the crusted fringe of mainstream pop-culture. True, pornography perhaps first demanded critical scrunity when VHS brought it out of the ... booth in the 80s; but such a demand was, at best, muted. But when "Ass Rage 3" and "Natural Bone Drillers" (both given 5 stars in this guide) hit the shelves we witnessed an artistic reclamation which enabled the soi-disant culturally savvy elite to buff the chubster and bandy about terms like "Gen-X kitsch" and "post-PC irony." This tremendous guide is alive to that seminal shift, and indeed provides video-still evidence of several graphic examples of it. Hats off to the authors for such a perceptive treatment.



2. I thought that it was a very good book if you like sex and I tried a few of the suggestions on getting to know your lover with my wife and she seemed to enjoy the new me.So that is why I am interrested in futher videos and books.Please give us new material to enjoy!!!!!!!!!!
