4 comments about ¿Eres Mi Mama? (Bright & Early Board Books(TM)) (Spanish Edition).
- I can read this book to my little girl over and over and she just loves it!!!!
- I did daycare for 16 years and this book made it everyday at reading time. One of the kids always picked it. They laugh and smile to this story. I love that they made a spanish version.
- i was surprised to find out my baby liked this book. I thought the brown and muted colors would be a turn-off but baby enjoys it. I bought it when my son was a baby and not as a toddler he still enjoys it.
- This is as great as the original English version. The book will help a child become accustomed to hearing another language from early on. Great for a non-English speaker to read to your child.

5 comments about Goodnight Moon (Spanish edition): Buenas noches, Luna.
- I really like the book. I have the English version, which is a classic, so I bought the Spanish version which is acceptable.
- As the little rabbit goes to sleep, he wishes a good night to everything he sees - from the mittens hanging out to dry to the playful cats, his comb and brush, and of course, the moon. The words have a soothing rhythm and the rabbit's room gets darker as one moves through the book. Nightime is falling and it's time for bed. Recommended for bedtime reading.
- Great for learning spanish since my son knows the english version so well. It is identical but in spanish.
- Look, this book is a classic in its original English version; its rhymes are central to its greatness and are unequalled in translation. Though the Spanish version is not defective, it just does not have the same charm that the rhymes have in the original.
Get this book in English, and choose books translated into Spanish whose text are not central to their enjoyment (e.g., Buenas noches, Gorila), or choose books originally written by Spanish language authors.
Este libro es un clásico en su idioma original: el inglés. Aunque la traducción al español no sea defectuosa, no está a la altura del lenguaje de las rimas en inglés.
Aconsejo que compres este libro en inglés, y que compres libros traducidos al español que no dependan tanto del texto (e.g., Buenas noches, Gorila); o, compre libros escritos por hispanohablantes.
- The pictures are lifeless, is boring my baby did not even look at it.
waste of money

5 comments about Crepúsculo (Twilight) (Twilight Saga) (Spanish Edition) (Paperback).
- I've seen the movie and loved it. I decided to buy the Spanish version of this book to keep up my Spanish skills. This book is very easy to read in Spanish and I would highly recommend it to any English speaker practicing their Spanish reading.
- The "free shipping" is not accurate as per the Amazon offer when I was purchasing, but the product was excellent.
- Excelente trabajo literario: Disfrute mucho la lectura del mismo. Continuare con la lectura de los proximos y lo recomiendo para el disfrute
de todos.
- Hello, The delivery of this item was pretty good, but the cover came krinkled and the corners in bad shape. This was a gift so I wasn't happy with the presentation.

5 comments about Cien años de soledad: Edición conmemorativa (The 40th Anniversary Edition) (Spanish Edition).
- I love to read. I bought this book because of the author, and that called my attention the title "Cien anos de Soledad", I wanted to know what this title means and how Gabriel Garcia Marquez could write without living that long, it was amazing the way he described all the situations that make me feel that I was part of the novel.I ussually read at night and while reading this book I just wanted to go to the end and read to 4 or 5 am. I will recommend this book very hardly
- Al terminar el libro solo queda darle gracias a Garcia Marquez por el universo marivilloso que a creado para la posteridad. Un libro de esos sorprendentes q vale la pena re-leer y q tiene la cualidad de sumergir al lector tan facilmente q es mejor leerlo despues de haber hecho las demas tareas del dia para no olvidar de hacerlas!
Es un regalo grandiosioso.
- Excellent novel; good in English translation, better in this (Spanish) original. Special "Royal Institute of Spanish Literature" edition contains critical works on the novel. Good buy, good book, great story.
- The time period from the e-mail notification (when they notify me the item was shipped to me) to when I actually got the item was kind of long, but besides that, very good service.

- The book came exactly as described. My wife is Colombian and she has fallen in love with the series.
- No hay nada como leeer en tu propio idioma. Este libro es mi favorito de toda la serie de Twilight.
- Soy amante de la saga; sin embargo mis favoritos son el primero y el segundo. Es bueno, pero llega el momento en que desespera pues pone cosas que creo que no debieron tener mucha relevancia. Debió centrarse más en otras cosas. Pero en fin, hay que leerlo pues es el último.
- I highly recommend this book. I could not put it down. Very fast delivery ...Thank you..
- When I ordered this book I didn't look close enough and got a book in Spanish, I meant to buy the book in English.

5 comments about Eclipse (Spanish Edition).
- Como Amazon cumple con todo lo prometido. Muy buen sistema de compras. Ojalas pueda abrirse al resto del continente americano.
- I've read comments from people saying that they didn't like the book because Bella develops feelings for Jacob... but I loved that twist in the story because hey, it does happen!!!! She was completely broken-hearted, and Jacob was able to help her, at least, to stop being a ghost and be more human. EDWARD left her, and she mourned for his loss even while being with Jacob. And he was her "Sun", her balm. Put her love for Edward was too strong, and it "eclipsed" what she felt for her friend. So Edward was her true love, but he HAD to be punished for being so stupid and leaving her in the 1st place. Actions have consequences. And in Breaking Dawn, Jacob imprinted in their baby and they all become real friends. Great closure. It was a very interesting read!
- I'm a die hard tiwlight saga fan!! And I may say that Eclipse is the best one of all! I couldn't stop reading all the phrases from Eduard are just more than you can imagine! Here he shows how deeply in love with bella he is.
- No hubo capitulo que no me hiciera transportarme a los hechos. Es perfecto para soñadores como yo...

5 comments about How Do I Feel?/zComo me siento? (Good Beginnings) (Spanish Edition).
- My boys are not crazy about this book. I love that it is in Spanish and English so all family members can read it to them in their prospective languages but it doesn't seem to grab their attention in either language.
- I like how this book is simple and uses pictures to help toddlers learn Spanish (or English) words.
- My twins like this book more than I do, so I'm giving it 3 stars rather than 2. It's very simple and the pictures are bright and colorful enough to hold a toddler's attention. I don't like the first picture representing "feliz" as I think it is misleading. It is a bird with notes coming out of his mouth- doesn't represent "happy" so much as "singing". Overall, it is a cute, simple, and very small book that seems to work for toddlers, but not any other age group.
- I was expecting there to be actual sentences in this book. There is one feeling per page in english and in spanish. It's fine if you just want to learn the words to some feelings, for that it's great. But, I could do that with a spanish dictionary. I wanted to read actual sentences to my daughter. It would better if it had "I feel..." Rather than just the one word. But again, if you just want to teach words of feelings, then it's good for that.
- Fun book for your baby if you want her to learn both english and spanish. The pictures are very colorful. My daughter enjoys repeating the different words every time we read it.

5 comments about First Spanish Reader: A Beginner's Dual-Language Book (Beginners' Guides) (English and Spanish Edition).
- Great book. Like the proberbs and short stories. Not sure if I like the fact that the translations are right beside each article. I would have preferred it to the back so the reader/student is not tempted to look at the translations while reading.
- Good book. Set up well, spanish on one side, and the exact translation in English on the other side. Nice glossary in the back for every word that I've had a question on. No complaints. Some say that the book is outdated with it's stories, but that's how it's supposed to be. These are not new stories, there classics from all over the Spanish speaking world. I have'nt found any of the language to be outdated, but some is regional, but that's to be expected. ie. Spain, Argentina, Mexico etc.
- I am still reading this little dual language book. I find it not only fun and entertaining, but also educational because besides learning the language you also learn about the local culture and peculiar language expressions or "old sayings" or proverbs.
The compendium of short stories is great because if you are short on time you can just read a couple of stories as opposed to read a long novel and then after you put it down you have to remember where you left it off when you resume your reading...
The small size is great too so you can enjoy it anywhere.
Do not expect however a literal translation. Sometimes I still need to look at the dictionary for the meaning of a specific word in sentences that were translated for their overall meaning, however it does not happen too often.
I think it is a good buy and certainly worthy the small price.
- The book arrived on time and was in excellent condition. Reading the book with the english 'right there' enhanced my ability to translate what I read and also allowed me to quickly grasp new spanish words.
- This is James from James Spanish (the learning Spanish blog). Reading your first book in Spanish is a thrilling experience, but trying to read a Spanish novel without help can be frustrating and leave you disappointed in your abilities. Dual-language books are an ideal compromise, letting you read Spanish text independently but offering the English translation for when you get stuck.
In this book a collection of short stories are displayed in their original Spanish with an English translation on the opposite page. The English text allows you to check that you have understood the Spanish correctly, and by studying both pages you can also get an idea of just how accurate your own translation is.
The stories are extremely well chosen, offering a good view of Spanish culture and includes stories by authors from different Spanish speaking countries. The first fifteen stories are simple and easy to understand, written in the present tense and using basic language. As you read through the book you will find more challenging texts which introduce other tenses as well as some colloquial phrases. These stories are for more advanced Spanish students.
In general the texts are divided according to their use of tense, which is handy for students who are studying a particular verb conjugation, or who need some good examples of how a particular tense works.
The book also includes several exercises, designed to help reinforce what you have learned and to give you the opportunity to practice new concepts and words. The glossary of vocabulary accompanies the stories nicely, and allows you to look up unfamiliar words quickly without reaching for another dictionary.
Longer stories are broken up by shorter texts such as poems and proverbs which let even beginner students experience the satisfaction of translating a full text. This motivation is great for keeping students encouraged and interested. Changing between short and longer sections of reading also stops the book from being boring or too daunting for students who do not have a lot of experience or confidence reading Spanish.
Altogether, students of all levels will enjoy this book. The English translations let you follow the story and gather vocabulary in stories that you cannot understand fully in Spanish, but as your knowledge grows so will your ability to read even the most difficult stories.
In closing my review of this product, I'd like to share with you the three Amazon products that I have found most helpful in my pursuit to learn Spanish. If you are truly serious about achieving fluency, I'd recommend getting all 3 of them if you can afford it.
1. Lights, Camera, Spanish (Book + DVD): Learn Conversational Spanish by Watching a Romantic Adventure This is actually a 90 minute movie for Spanish-language learners. It gives the option to watch the movie with subtitles but I'd recommend not using them to improve your Spanish. This "movie" also includes a workbook so that you can reinforce the Spanish vocabulary words and phrases from the film. The workbook also has lots of exercises to keep you engaged in the film. But be prepared to hear Chilean accents. Although pleasent to the ear, the accents from Chile are very different from most Latin American accents.
2. Verbarrator Version 1.1 (Windows Version) This software replaces the traditional verb conjugation books and makes learning how to conjugate Spanish verbs an interactive and fun activity. This should be a required resource for anyone who wants to improve their ability to conjugate Spanish verbs. Especially anyone who is challenged by the drudgery of learning how to conjugate Spanish verbs and who is looking for a new way to make learning how to conjugate Spanish verbs an easy and fun activity
3. Diccionario esencial de la lengua espanola de la Real Academia Espanola (Spanish Edition) If you are really serious about speaking the language fluently, then at some point you will need to replace your Spanish-English dictionary and get a pure Spanish dictionary with both the vocabulary words and the definitions entirely in Spanish. I use this one only because it was highly-recommended by a friend from Spain who teaches Spanish.

- La isla bajo el mar is a fictional novel about slavery in the Caribbean. This event in history affected the lives of many people and in various ways still exists today in the world but masked in many different forms other than slaves working on a sugar cane plantation.
The novel is set in eighteenth century Saint-Domingue which is modern day Haiti, and via the story the reader gets an understanding for the history of this Caribbean island under French rule at the time with political, economic and social issues that definitely shaped the outcome of modern day Haiti which is part of the island of Hispaniola.
The characters are well developed and the reader immediately identifies with Zarite, the nine year old slave who is controlled by her French master Toulouse Valmorain. Her will power to be free and her struggle to achieve her freedom is the main theme of story. The other characters also intertwine well with the issues of the time which include race, social class and oppression.
I think this novel is definitely a good addition to Isabel's collection with a very different theme as compared to her other novels and the ones I have read thus far. I am looking forward to her next one and most importantly what it will be about. For Allende fans La isla bajo el mar is worth the read. For history fans it's an interesting fictional account of slavery in the Caribbean and its social stigma and repercussions.
- The book was even better than I expected. It is amazing!!!! Also the package arrive in less time that I thought it would.

5 comments about What Color Is It?/zQue color es este? (Good Beginnings) (Spanish Edition).
- Each page has the color in English and Spanish, with no other words, so there is no plot, no rhymes. There are better books to teach colors.
- Please, no flames from my European friends, but if you're parenting a bilingual kid in the U.S., and are looking to support your kid speaking the more common Spanish used in the U.S. (meaning, that language spoken in LatinoAmerica...you know...Mexico, Central and Most of South America and the Caribbean), this isn't the book to get. It's cute, but it uses words for colors that you'll only see in Spain. Nothing wrong with Spain (other than that pesky Conquest that messed up a lot of lives, which many in modern-day nations are still aware of and not that happy about), but I'd skip this book if I had it to do over again. We live in Brooklyn, not Madrid.
I actually re-cycled this book by making my own collages (with Mod Podge and paper) and printing the LatinoAmerican Spanish words on the pages so the book wouldn't be a total waste and irritate me EVERY time I saw it. It was a fun project, but I'm a busy working mom, and I didn't expect what I got. I'd have liked an accurate description of the fact that it uses Castillian, and I think ALL Spanish books sold in the U.S. should clearly state which kind of Spanish it supports.
- I am Peruvian so I speak Spanish. I will tell you that "naranja" and "anaranjado" are both correct adjectives to describe the color orange. In Peru we use both.
- Book was in good condition as discribed by the seller. My son loves the book
- Great book, my toddler loves it. And there are no mistakes.
For clarification: the color orange is "naranja" in Spanish from Spain. We call the fruit and the color the same in Spain (just as they do in English!). I know in Latin American countries they say "anaranjado". But that does not make "naranja" a mistake in the book. It is correct Spanish, found in the dictionary. It was just probably translated by a Spaniard.
I was shocked by the review by a teacher saying that she tells her students that the word "naranja" is wrong. I would never tell my toddler that "anaranjado" is incorrect, even though we don't say it that way! It's just a proof of the diversity of the Spanish language. Shame on this teacher who says she uses "naranja" as an example of bad translation - and complains of seeing the mistake frequently. No wonder, since it is not a mistake. She should instead explain how different Spanish-speaking countries use different words, and all are correct.
