5 comments about Bakertowne's Price Guide For Mi Hummel (R): A Realistic Look At These Wonderful Collectibles!.
- I am a M.I. Hummel Annual Bell Collector. This book was very helpful in assisting me with learning the value of these Bells.
- This is the biggest disappointment ever. Not one price for any club member figure. That was the reason for purchasing this little $25.00 Phamplet. There are numerous books, all much better than this, for regular Hummel items. I really feel that I was duped. Biggest rip off ever. Amazon, you should be ashamed to carry this, especially at this price.
- My mom wanted to find the value of her hummel figurines but was not able to identify them by name. She needed to match the figurine to a picture and then find the value. this was not possible with this book so she was unhappy with it.
- I also bought their precious moments guide and recently was given this book b/c i wanted to look up a few prices from my uncle's collection of hummels. I realize now i probably should have collected hummel instead of precious moments, but oh well! Anyway, i really like the book. I like that it's in chart format and I think it takes some real courage to stand up to some of the 'bigger' books out there with crazy prices. People who want to write negative reviews should go to the books with the pretty pictures and tell them that that shouldn't lie to us collectors when it comes to prices. Bakertowne's is honest, and for that, I can't thank them enough :)
- I was very happy with the real prices listed. I did a comparison with some research on ebay and it really matched up. This is perfect for helping to settle an inherited estate! Thanks!

5 comments about Luckey's Hummel Figurines and Plates: Identification and Price Guide (12th Edition).
- This book is very helpful if you are buying or wanting to know the retail price of a hummel or if there are any markings you should be looking for. Luckey's does give some extra information on some hummels that Miller doesn't have in his book. One thing that would be helpful is to have color pictures of the figurines since many times a figurine's color determines it's age.
- This book holds all the information any collector will need. I found it to be very useful.
- I was hesitant to purchase Luckey's 12th Edition Price Guide because I have always relied on Robert L. Miller's No. 1 Price Guide in the past. However, curiosity got the better of me and I'm glad it did. It's a great reference, and a very good companion to Miller's guide. The main advantage Miller's 10th Edition No. 1 Price Guide has is all figurines are now shown in color... but the images are smaller than in previous editions. Since Luckey's guide (updated by Dean Genth) is presented in a larger format, it has larger images and text, which makes it easier to read. It also displays more images of the older trademark figurines to show the differences between the older figurines and their current production versions a bit better. This was important to me because I generally prefer to collect the older, more rare figurines.
Figurine pricing is now essentially the same between the two guides, which isn't surprising considering Dean Genth owns Miller's Hallmark in Eaton, OH, the home of Robert Miller.
For the average collector, or one that usually tends to purchase the newer released items, Robert Miller's guide is now more up to date. However, for the truly serious collector, Luckey's guide has more or different information on some of the more rare figurines such as those made in white overglaze and sold only in Belgium in the early days. Since I own several of these figurines, I found the information contained in Lucky's guide very useful.
Highly recommended for both the novice or serious collector... but don't forget to purchase Miller's book too.
- A absolute must have resource - well organized, descriptive, and easy to use. It has served me exceptionally well each time I have had to use it!
- I have quiet a few Hummel books, but Luckey's Hummel Figurines and Plates, 11nd Edition is my favorite. The book did educate me in the different Trade Marks on the bottom of the Figurines, The Authors explanation is simple and clear. I purchased many Hummel figurines at Internet Auctions and found that the "Current Value" prices of Mr. Luckey's book are very conservative and very closed to the final Auction prices! I do recommend this book, it is the "real" thing!

2 comments about Bakertowne's Price Guide For Popular Royal Doulton Figurines.
- Shocked this was made into a book...
The pages are lined columns with numbers and values.
I have 120 fiqurines to value and only found three..
Not what I would descrive as a resource book!
Hardly worth the shipping.
Very Disappointed... Back to the Charlton's for me!
- This is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't need a million pictures, just prices! It has over 500 figurines listed, and my whole collection was included. The prices are accurate. They even give you their e-mail in case there is something you have question on that isn't covered in the guide, which I thought was a really nice added touch.
Very Happy Customer :-)

- I really couldn't have asked for more. The pictures are wonderful, and the prices are accurate. It even gives height, which is helpful if you don't want to fuss around with a tape measure! I inherited a gnome collection and i'm so glad i bought this book to help me sort it all out. Thanks for writing it! They are the only co-boy book i was able to find, i think they are the only co-boy book around!

5 comments about Bakertowne's Price Guide To Precious Moments Figurines.
- Purchased this guide a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't be more disappointed. The guide is nowhere near complete, there are no pictures and the layout looks like is was done for a middle school typing project.
I have never given a bad review on a book before but this so called "guide" is pathetic. $20-what a rip-off!
- I was very disappointed that not all of my figurines were listed in this book, or if they were, not all symbols available were shown. However, it is nice in that it is very simple to use-look your item up alphabetically and there are two price columns, one for insurance and one for resale.
- If you threw away your original box that this book would be a place to start and good for insurance adjusters if they were stolen or destroyed. I got the book because my wife collected over a hundred of this figurines. This is not the books fault but I thought collecting these figurines were supposed to appreciate in value. If you believe that Precious Moments were suppose to gain value this book will open your eyes and then make you cry. How can something I bought 20 years ago, kept in perfect condition, with the box and collector's card in mint condition all go down by about two/thirds its value. Again it is not the books fault but I really feel cheated I spent thousands for something that is only worth a few hundred according to the book. It gives you two prices. The sales price if you try to sell it and the insurance price. The insurance price is much kinder so get insurance and have a bonfire.
- This has useful information in it, but there are no pictures of the figurines. You must have the actual name of the figurine in order to use this book.
- I purchased this guide as soon as it came out and it really is incredibly realistic. The truth of the matter is Precious Moments Figurines are not worth a whole lot, and I was able to get a real life value of my Aunt's collection so we could settle her estate. I really appreciate the authors were bold enough to write such a truthful guide. Thanks!

5 comments about No. 1 Price Guide to M.I. Hummel Figurines, Plates, More... (M.I. Hummel Figurines, Plates, Miniatures & More...Price Guide, 8th ed).
- the guide was in good shape and helped me to catalogue all of my Hummells
- I have to sell at least 50 or so Hummels on ebay and trying to identify and get prices is very hard. I have used 2 other books but this one is the BEST!
- I have one and will give you information on the Hummel Silk Carpet.(The Book lacks this information)
On the back is a tag stitched to it saying:
M.J. Hummel
ORIGINAL HUMMEL SILK CARPET
HANDKNOTTED IN BEIJING, CHINA.
ARS AG, ZUG, SWITZERLAND
LIMITED EDITION :10 /50
Also there is a tag attached to the SILK CARPET written in both Chinese and English
ZHE JIANG SILK RUG
I am giving this information because the book does not have a picture of this HUMMEL SILK CARPET and not sure about the information I just posted.
VALUE UNKNOWN but it is Very Beautiful
- I have all, since the first publication, of Robert Miller's Price Guide to MI Hummel Figurines, Plates, Miniatures and More.
Mr. Miller has all the knowledge one would expect & want to find in his books after much research and many trips to Germany to gain this knowledge. This is THE HUMMEL BIBLE! I highly recommend this book to all Hummel collectors or to anyone interested in the collecting of fine arts. Very well written with explicit details about Sister MI Hummel's life in Massing, Germany & her schooling. Each known Hummel is pictured & tells of the Master Artist who molded each three dimentional figurine from the drawings by Sister beginning in the 1930's to the present TMK markings. A great investment for Insurance purposes when appraising your figurines by The Hummelking!
- This book is very well illustrated, well layed-out, easy to use, and the pictures are very beautiful. It's full of information, explains more than I expected, and it is a MUST for Hummel collectors.
