1 comments about Competing in Western Shows & Events.
- So this book would be fine if you are going to do a horseless horse project for 4h or something like that, but if you are interested in trying to determine a carrier path for your western prospects like I was, don't waste your money. I was hoping they would talk about what qualities it takes to compete so I could figure out if my colts would fit that market, not just what they do at shows. This book was more descriptive than instructive. Judging by the simplistic nature in which they "explained" the events I currently compete in, I felt like everything in it could have been determined by commonsense and observation.

5 comments about Fascination Horse.
- A remarkable book, by a remarkable equine photographer. A must-have for any horselover.
Gorgeous, leather-bound coffee table book and printed on heavy glossy paper, featuring over 400 color photographs and informative text of some of the world's best known breeds in addition to some of the more obscure breeds.
If you are a horselover, you must have this book in your collection - it is a must have in every horselover's library. Get this one. You won't be dissapointed.
- Dont order from here if you are in a hurry. I ordered this book on 10 November for my wife's birthday on 31st December. It's now 16th January and today Amazon cancelled my order as the book is not available. However they still allow you to order it, and nothing is mentioned about the delay. Good luck getting your copy.
- This large coffee table book is WELL worth the price (and cheap, at that!). It is rare to find a published photo of a horse that simply blows you away, but this book contains at LEAST ten such drop-you-in-your-tracks images. Gabriele Boiselle is a MASTER photographer. Horsemen (horsepeople, actually) will thank you profusely if you give this book to them as a gift, as will artists, photographers and just about anyone with a soul attuned to the beauty of horses. I plan to purchase a second copy immediately to give to my son, who is both a photographer and horsekeeper.
- This is one of the most fantastic books I have seen. When I buy it I only saw the cover and imediately I fall in love with it.I have no words to tell the feelings I felt when I began to see it.The pictures are breath-taking.The book is very well organized,it has sections about breeds with a page with lots of info and the the pictures with some commentaries and at the end of the book there is more info.If you love horses this is a must buy, trust me you will fall in love with this book,Gabriele Boiselle did an extraordinary job.
- This book is the most fantastic book I have ever owned. Whether you're a horse-lover or not there is pleasure in browsing this volume. The photography is breath-takingly excellent. The artistry evident in it's layout make it much more than a collection of absolutely wonderful photography - each page is a complete work of art!

1 comments about Riding from the Inside Out.
- The author, Lisa Champion, is a fitness professional. She is also a keen athlete, competing in triathlons and marathons. Yet even with her high level of fitness and all her knowledge she still found her riding lacked effectiveness.
Lisa assembled a team consisting of physiotherapist Anna-Louise Bouvier and Dressage coach Larissa Chadwick.
I like Riding from the Inside Out because it is clear, concise, well organized and informative. Helpful photographs are plentiful and a good compliment to the text. I have many books on riding and fitness, but the content in this book is unique, useful and informative.

2 comments about Dancing with Your Horse.
- I am an Intro level dressage rider, with high aspirations! I got this book for some insight into how to start planning my future "musical freestyle." It is very precise and helpful for a novice like me, and I highly recommend it for anyone trying to plan their musical debut. It tells how to start, what kinds of music to consider, how to align the music with your horse's gaits and rhythm, and even offers a few asides, like the fact that your entry music should be dramatic, like the Star Wars theme, because it doesn't count anyway and it will get the judge's/audience's attention! Excellent resource!
- I would recommend this book to people who like dancing with their horses. I happen to have an artistic streak in my blood and have won four state ribbons for freestyle horse dancing. This is a great book for beginners and experts alike. It starts from the basic steps all the way to double ronde-jambe axel loup.

1 comments about Advanced Techniques of Dressage: An Official Instruction Handbook of the German National Equestrian Federation (German National Equestrian Fed).
- This book is exactly what it says it is (how very German). It is a handbook that you can use on a daily basis to improve your dressage. In the front there are chapters on such things as a riders duty to the horse, the correct seat, tack and training facilities.
There are then general tips on creating the foundations for dressage and training such as developing lateral bend or forward thrust and then the chapters begin on advanced dressage exercises such as pirouettes, schaukel or flying changes. Each are described in full, there are exercises to improve the quality of each, problems to avoid and special notes for the rider.
An excellent book to have in your library. It's not a barrel of laughs to read but certainly gives you many many exercises to work through and many good tips for improving both your riding and your horse's way of going.
