1 comments about Everyday Things(tm): Glass.
- Everyday Things: Glass is a beauteous celebration of its title substance and all the countless decorative and practical things that can be wrought with it - including cruets, canisters, inkwells, lanterns, pitchers, and paperweights. Gorgeous, full-color photographs fill every page with an artist's eye for elegance, while the prose text offers intensely researched, enlightening commentary about the specific history of countless glass objects of art and everyday use. Suzanne Slesin (Homestyle magazine editor-in-chief), Daniel Rozensztroch (Paris-based author), and Stafford Cliff (London-based author), and Marie-Pierre Morel (Paris-based, professional photographer) draw upon their many years of expertise to effectively collaborate with Everyday Things: Glass resulting in a visual compendium that takes commonplace things and turns them into elements of majesty Everyday Things: Glass is enthusiastically recommended as a unique and unusual gift for people who enjoy coffee-table art and photography books.

1 comments about Daum.
- This book provides a very good overview on Daum Cristal, its origin and development in France. The information included is well presented and since I love collecting Daum Cristal items, I use it very often to check on Daum designs. I have not found any other book in the market covering this subject so extensively. A great reference book for people that collect art expressed in glass!

3 comments about Pocket Guide to Depression Glass & More Identification (Pocket Guide to Depression Glass & More).
- This book is the perfect size to carry with you whenever you are snooping around antique or junk stores. It shows pictures of the glassware along with the prices on the same page - very helpful! An excellent addition to any library.
- This little book is small enough to tote and complete enough to be useful when you are out looking for finds! Color photographs are of high quality. It does contain some price reference material and basics on pattern manufacturer, color and years produced. It does not contain anything else regarding the history of each pattern.
There is a section on pattern reproductions in the back which contains useful alerts. The collector will want other of Gene Florence's more exhaustive references but this is the one you will use most frequently.
- This book sure has helped me! The patterns are listed alphabetically and each page is a new pattern with a color photo on top showing several of the pieces. The page tells you what colors each pattern came in, which once helped me identify a reproduction. There is also a listing of the pieces made and what their current values are. There is a section in the back (22 pages) that discusses how to identify reproduction pieces of certain patterns. The only thing that would help me more in this book is if they had included some kind of cross-reference so that you could quickly find your pattern based on its characteristics. As it is now, you either have to know its name or just thumb through the whole book. Well worth the money even to a beginner like me.

1 comments about Glass Today: American Studio Glass from Cleveland Collections.
- Art collectors living in Cleveland have been well exposed to sculpture made from glass both through the efforts of Tom Reiley of the Reiley-Hawk Galleries and the passion of a group of collectors, most notably Francine & Benson Pilloff and Mike Belkin. A few years ago, the Cleveland Museum exhibited a significant amount of material from local collections in one of the Museum's most popular shows. This is the beautifully illustrated catalog that accompanied the show...and if you enjoy contemporary art, this is a must
