1 comments about The L. G. Wright Glass Company.
- I am impressed with the quality of this book. The pictures are great. I bought this book for my husband for a Christmas gift. He is a collector of Fenton glassware. Fenton made the L. G. Wright pieces. It would be very helpful if someone published a current price guide to go along with this book.

1 comments about The Essential: Louis Comfort Tiffany (Essential Series).
- I will rate this purchase zero, no stars in fact below zero. I never received the product. i was initially told that the product was shipped, then after waiting three weeks i was told please wait four more days>When the book failed to arrive I then e-mailed the vendor demanding to know where the book was. I did not get a response from the vendor. Then i was notified that the book was out of stock and that my acct would be credited. I appreciate the credit but what I do not appreciate is being lied to. How can a book be out of stock when the vendor informed me that it was shipped. I feel as if i was lied and that the dealer misrepresented his intentions.
I wanted the book and now I have waited since march 14th for naught. i believe that i should receive a free copy of the book given how the dealer lied to me.

2 comments about Bottles from the Deep: Patent Medicines, Bittlers, & Other Bottles from the Wreck of the Steamship Republic.
- Very enjoyable read. Brief, but succinct in discussion of the bottle types recovered from the wreck. Provides interesting history of the various bottle types. Great photography of the recovered treasures. I read it in a couple of hours. Can't wait for Oddysey to publish more on their discoveries and recoveries. Be sure to read The Lost Gold of the Republic for an excellent presentation of the history and discovery of the SS Republic and the development of the Oddysey Marine Company. It was extremely well written and an enjoyable read. Both books are highly recommended for the shipwreck buff or treasure collector.
- "Bottles from the Deep" is, I think, the first published (in the paper sense) product of Odyssey Marine Exploration's impressive archaeological excavation of the steamship Republic, and doubtless it will not be the last. Some archaeologists shrink from the idea of a marine salvage firm doing good archaeology, but with the Republic Odyssey has shown how it can be done; the Republic fieldwork is a model for deep-ocean archaeological investigation. What remains is to see how the data recovered are used and shared with the profession and the public. Ellen Gerth's book suggests that Odyssey will do well in this regard, too. The book provides a concise summary of the history of the shipwreck and its excavation, and then plunges into fascinating details about the various types represented among the thousands of bottles recovered. Stephen Sweet's Infallible Liniment, Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup -- it's amazing our ancestors survived the 19th century swilling such stuff. Very handsomely illustrated, Gerth's little book is a contribution to the archaeological literature that's fun to read. Not too big to be a stocking stuffer for one's favorite bottle nut, either.

1 comments about Miller's: Perfume Bottles: A Collector's Guide (Miller's Collector's Guides).
- I found this little book very helpful with a wealth of information, on collecting all types of Perfume Bottles including non-commercials (scent bottles without perfume) as well as commercials (bottles sold with perfume). It covers the art of perfume bottle making & some history from ancient times thru todays avant-garde creations such as: Pomanders, Victorian Vinaigrettes, all types of materials that were used, some famous name commerical houses, novelities & minis just to name a few areas. Each area is covered with nice photo's of the period perfume bottle. The is also a nice chapter on collecting advice including what to collect, tips, care & cleaning. This would be a great book for those who want to start collecting perfume bottles or those who are already collectors. This book should be added to your Perfume or Vanity Items library.
