1. The book is simply wonderful. I have wanted it for some years and now I have it. The problem is with the price guide, I can't find the prices on a lot of the beautiful Fenton pieces. The price guide is very hard to use. I've had the Third Twenty-Five Years book for sometime and it's easy to locate the prices.

It is the first real effort at a comprehensive and authoritative guide on European bottles aimed at a broad English-reading audience worldwide. For years, collectors and others have waited for just such a book to appear. The numerous colour photos are outstanding. The text is clear, to the point, and easy to read. Any collector, no matter where he lives or what he collects, will, after reading the book, be able to pursue his passion in a much more informed way. I highly recommend the book, which should be on the book shelf of every serious bottle collector and student of historical glass containers.

1. This is an excellent resource for anyone who collects glass animals. The pictures are great and the information is detailed and easy to follow.

1. This is one of the works a collector of ancient glass should have. It is more or less together with other books by Whitehouse and ie. Harden and Fleming that form the basis of the library of the collector of ancient glass.
   Text and pictures are perfect, the descriptions of the shown objects are well balanced and educating, excellent and for the collector "mouth watering" reading. The latter because the shown objects are rare and very hard to find for the average collector.



2. Volumes I and II of this three-catalog series are absolutely superb references for Roman glass. All three catalogs are very well-illustrated, and each item is described in more detail than is typically seen in collection catalogs. Volume II has some of the more superior examples from the Corning Museum, whereas Volume I has some of the more basic forms that are cheap and readily available on the market. Volume III has some small-scale objects, like intaglios and gems, and random late acquisitions that didn't make the first two volumes; of the three, the last is arguably the least useful, albeit still a great reference to have. My only complaint would be that these books represent a sizable investment for a collector -- these are not starter references, but rather books to acquire for someone who already has an invested, developed interest in Roman glass.

1. This book is a little large to be carrying around, however I still do carry it to places that I already know will have the pattern I am looking for.
   
   The forward describes "Elegant" glassware as handmade and acid etched glassware that was sold by department and jewelry stores during the Depression era through the 1950's, differentiating it from the dime store and giveaway glass that has become known as Depression glass. The word "Elegant" has become "official" nomenclature among today's dealers for designating handmade glass.
   
   It is well organized with the glass patterns in alphabetical order and the prices in columns by color of glass. Most of the pictures are color and have good enough definition to identify what you are looking at. There is a contents by pattern and a contents by company.



2. This is a beautiful book. Mr. Florence out-did himself with this one! It is so easy to read, is laid out so beautifully, the information is complete and the photography is outstanding. I respect Gene Florence's expertise and would make this my "Bible" for information on Elegant Glassware.
