2 comments about Emergency First Aid for Your Dog.
- Excellent reference. If you have a dog, you should have this book.
- This book is a must-have for all dog owners. It reviews most everything you need to know in an emergency situation. The illustrations are kind of basic in their drawing, but the other information makes up for this slight problem. Everything seems to be covered from lacerations and broken bones down to poisons and poisonous plants(giving you symptoms and treatments).

2 comments about The Gecko: An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet.
- GREAT BOOK. IF YOU HAVE A LEAPORD GECKO YOU SHOULD BUY THIS BOOK. I GIVE A 10 STAR RATING
- Actually I haven't read the book, but I have three questions if you don't mind. I put 24 crickets in an equarium with only one Gecko is that okay? And I can't tell if he's been eating or not, how do I determin that? How often do geckos' eat?

1 comments about The Homoeopathic Treatment of Small Animals: Principles and Practice.
- This book is packed with information about the principles & practice of homeopathy as well as highly specific information about symptoms & potential homeopathic remedies. While it is tempting to do so - the book is not intended to be used as a "how to" manual where you can look up a symptom & apply the remedy.

2 comments about Running with the Fox.
- I read this book while raising a litter of foxes, the author's insights into fox society was very helpful. Many things that he related I either had experienced or came upon later. This book is a must read for anyone who is interested in knowing more about foxes and will dispell many of the things that we thought were true of fox behaviour.
- This book is the book for fox stories and facts. The book has great stories and is saturated with information for student researchers or fox lovers alike!

4 comments about How To Say It to Your Dog: Solving Behavior Problems in Ways Your Dog Will Understand (How to Say It...).
- This book has some good principles, but it is repetitive, and after a while it becomes silly. Whenever you get to a point where you want some hard information, she gives you the names of a few books where you can find it, which is the one redeeming quality of this book. I cannot believe it took her more than a couple of weeks (or less) to write this. It is mostly white space, even when there are words.
- Using a postive and respectful approach to dog training and communication, Adams has compiled "must have" manual for new dog people, as well as experienced guardians. It's been several years since I raised a puppy, and with the new addition to my family, Ms. Adams' "How To Say It. . ." has been the most frequently referenced volume in my fairly extensive doggy library.
Puppies aren't the only topic covered, however. There are chapters on many issues, including: adding a second dog, adopting an adult dog or puppy, traveling and training your dog; health care issues as critical as diet, vaccination, and euthanasia; and specific behavior issues are tackled, such as jumping on people, leash problems, separation anxiety and counter surfing. . .and so much more. "How To Say It. . ." is at the top of my short list of recommended dog books.
- How to Say It to Your Dog is a rich handbook filled with practical tips, advice and resources. I love the author's positive and holistic approach, and how she incorporates new research (such as the new recommendations against automatic annual revaccinations) in an engaging, fun, and helpful way. 4 paws up!
- Janine Adams has done it again: written a book about dogs in clear, concise language that any *person* can understand. This book makes a fabulous addition to any dog owner's library.

1 comments about Ducks and Geese in Your Backyard: A Beginner's Guide.
- This book is my FAVORITE book on raising day old ducklings and geese for pets and for pure pleasure. Mr. Luttmann adds lots of humor with good advice on duck care. He also covers pond building for your ducks and geese as well. One I highly recommend. The only drawback I can see with this book is it doesn't go into duck or geese breeds. I would suggest pairing this book with another raising duck/geese guide. You can find this one on Ebay usually for a very reasonable price."

2 comments about Travelers' Tales - A Dog's World.
- This book had me bursting out in laughter, some of the accounts are simply hilarious!! And other times, it's so heartwarming that I start to sniffle a bit... wow, talk about an emotional roller-coaster. Then again, I go through the same thing whenever I watch the Animal Planet channel.
Seriously though, besides being a great joy to read this book also contains a wealth of tips and information on traveling with your canine friends. I have 3 of such friends, it'll take quite a bit of planning to be able to go on a road trip with all of them one of these days, but you can bet that I'll be re-reading this book before I do so! Like the previous reviewer said, you gotta LOVE dogs to appreciate this book. If you are one of those that regard them as merely animals, and nothing else, then you won't understand half the things that the writers are trying to convey.
- If you love dogs -- I mean *really* love dogs -- and would take them anywhere you travel or while sitting on a park bench in some foreign city would go out of your to pet a stranger's dog, then I highly recommend this book to you. Editor Christine Hunsicker has pulled together some of the most touching, amusing, and disturbing non-fiction writing about traveling with dogs. I also highly recommend it as a gift to give to anyone you know who really loves dogs.
