1. This handy guide is well organized, factual and contains a lot of pertinent information specific to longhaired cats. All this for an affordable price! The basics in cat care, health, immunization, nutrition and grooming are contained in this book, along with some cute coloured photographs. Not that longhaired cats differ greatly from shorthaired cats in general cat care; however, certainly the grooming requirements are more laborous and you do need the right tools of the trade to work with. One item that I have found to be of tremendous value that was not mentioned here was a "detangling comb," a wide-spaced steel comb to remove mats, which can be purchased at any pet supply. This is a great little book at a great little price.

1. I bought this book for my father who received a 29 gallon aquarium for Christmas last year. He was very excited to get this book and has read it cover to cover several times. He found the information very helpful in balancing his aquarium community.



2. This short, illustrated book provides a compact and useful introduction to tropical fish commonly kept in aquarium tanks. The book goes into detail of how to set up a tank, how to maintain it, and what fish to put into it. The book comes complete with color pictures of the various fish, their characteristics and the challenges of keeping them in an aquarium tank. The book itself is quite inexpensive, and worth the cost and time to read it.



3. I can't recommenf this book. It only introduces very common fish. It tells very little about the fishes and the pictures are bad too because they are not photographs but drawings. This book doesn't even look good in bookself because it's so small.



4. I am a newbie at fish and aquariums. I checked this book out at the library and looked at it and it was wonderful. Then I ordered 2 other books....I was GREATLY disappointed in them. This little books shows you pictures of all different fish and tells you if they are aggressive or not. Most books I have found dont tell enough about what kind of roomies your fish should have or what they eat. I think if you are a newbie you need this book. It is a nice reference! The best and the cheapest that I have bought so far! You wont be sorry if you buy it!Just gives you a sence of some place to start to by fish for a community tank.

1. I absolutely love this book. I work with parrots on a full time basis in an all-bird store. This book is right on target for beginnner bird owners. What I like about it is that it is comprehensive. It breaks down the different types of birds and discusses their personality traits, size, life span, talking ability (not a definite in any bird, but always a plus, and every bird is different), whether a bird is ok for an apartment or a house, and of course, everything from health and grooming to training. I have not found a book yet that does as much comparing between the species and makes it easy for beginner birders. A must have for all beginners!!!



2. This book is an up to date book providing a general overview of bird care and training. This book is good for the beginner who is considering a bird or has just acquired their first bird. It is reasonably priced and packed with lots of information. You'll need to move on to more specialized books about bird care and training after reading this, but this book is an excellent start!



3. This is a great book. It has easy to read and understand information on the most popular pet birds. There are 19 species covered individually. It gives step by step advice on how to set up and mantain a happy home for you and your bird. It also contains color photographs on almost every page.

1. loved the book, lots of information with scientific research behind it....only problem was, once I figured out the fat/protein/carb percentages for my dog...I couldn't find a food with those percentages. And the book doesn't tell you how to compensate for kibble diets that lack fat and are too high in carbs.
   
   Would recommend and buy again though.

1. I felt cheated when I got this book.

   It is not a book about Malamutes, contrary to the title. It is a book about general dog care, and not a very good one at that. Except for the pictures and a brief description about the breed, it could as well as be about any other breed, as the emphase seems to be on home and show dogs, and definitely not on Arctic dogs

   The same publisher has published essentially the same book with a different title ('Siberian Huskies') and a different author name.

   Anyone with a serious interest in Alaskan Malamutes should find this book useless.

   I found the number of topics covered too numerous and brief to be of any real value. Perhaps one exception is the chapter on Accomodations which introduces several good basic aviary designs. Although for the Finch Fancier there are enough excellent photos of various species to make this little book worthwhile to have on the shelf.
