5 comments about Will I See Fido in Heaven?: Scripturally Revealing God's Eternal Plan for His Lesser Creatures.
- This book couldn't have come at a better time for me. It seems the Lord knew exactly what I needed when I visited my library 2 days before a mission trip, 2 days following the tragic death of our beloved pet Nadia. As I read the book, I kept my Bible close and it all made perfect sense. I received such peace from God through the teachings of Ms. Buddemeyer-Porter. I thank the Lord for this answer to my prayer.
- A wonderful review not only of scripture, but also how well-known theologians down through history agree: You will see Fido in Heaven. I cannot rate this book high enough.
- If you have ever lost a pet or know someone who has, then, aside from the Bible, this is the ONE book you really should read and share. Since it came to my attention on Amazon, I have gifted this book several times always with the same grateful result.
- "Will I See Fido In Heaven" is an adult way of looking at the loss of a dear pet. This book is thoughtful, and somewhat comforting. Nothing would be more comforting than actually having the lost loved-one back by one's side. However, this book is as good as it gets.
- There are many believers in Christ who do not believe that we will see our pets in heaven. I must admit that before reading Mary's book, "Will I See Fido in Heaven?", I felt this same way. As an animal lover and Christian, I was willing to accept whatever God's plan was for animals eternal destination, whether it be that life would just simply end, or that their souls would dwell along side those of us in Heaven who believe in Jesus Christ. Mary uses sound scripture to back up her beliefs. God's word is true and without error. If we choose not to believe His word, then we will miss out on the blessings He intends for us to have and enjoy. If you love animals and our Lord and Savior who created them, read Mary's book. You'll be glad that you did.

1 comments about Dog Training with a Head Halter.
- Ms. Fields-Babineau has clearly outlined the use of a head halter as a training tool for use with dogs of any temperament, size, and breed. Following her easy to understand guidance, even a brand new pet owner can acheive success in obedience training. The reader gets the feeling of sitting down to a one-on-one conversation with the author without the book being preachy. Ms. Fields-Babineau has done an excellent job of compiling a lot of information into a format that is easy to follow and even easier to use.

3 comments about Guide to Owning a Burmese Cat (Guide to Owning).
- I must agree with the other reviewer that this book offers no additional eye-opening facts in respect to owning a Burmese cat... The history section is specific to the breed (but as a new or existing Burmese owner, you'd probably already know this prior to getting one!) & there is one blurb regarding the Burmese characteristic to yowl when they require attention. Beyond that this book could really be for any other cat out there (feed your cat, give it water, groom it,...). It didn't even specify normal size/weight ranges for the breed and what quantities of food to give them as a guideline. So, in my opinion, useless to a new Burmese owner. Also, I was a bit disappointed that all of the photos are only of Sable & Chocolate Burmese (they are all gorgeous, but a few photos of Blues or Lilacs would be appreciated). All in all this book was disappointing.
- Although books about particular cats/pets are rare and appreciated, I'm afraid this book gave me no further insight into my Burmese cat. Perhaps I am asking too much but I expected to find a plethora of special insights into this special breed. I didn't.
Especially in modern cat care I felt this book lacking. My breeders says: Fresh meat three times a week; chicken wings (raw) at least twice for dental hygiene, vary the diet, enjoy the peculiarly dog like characteristics of the Burmese. But mabe that's all asking too much - gotta go, Nero is bringing his beloved yellow wash cloth for retrieval...
It is hard to criticise a book that describes the best breed of cat on earth. Let's all write one!
- I liked how there was an equal mixture of the traditional, contemporary, and moderate styles without editorializing. Clear, concise, and good pictures!

1 comments about An Atlas of Freshwater and Marine Catfishes: A Preliminary Survey of the Siluriformes.
- This book contains an incredible wealth of information on catfish keeping, breeding, taxonomy etc., plus a wealth of photos. Unlike too many TFH books, which are just rehashes of old photographs, this book contains real, useful, in depth info, that makes it worth the rather high price.

3 comments about The Miniature Pinscher: Reigning King of Toys.
- I have read this book twice, and refer to it as needed. It certainly outlined the characteristics of the breed and all have proven to be true. If there is a downside to this book it is all the information about showing, since my Min Pin is a pet. But then even that provided some good information.
I liked the book and would buy it again.
- I recommend anyone thinking of buying a min pin, read this book first. They are not just your average house dog, and this book tells you several things you should take into consideration. Although I purchased it after buying a min pin, it really helped me learn about their history, nature, showing qualifications, as well as other things.
- This is definitely not a cut and paste dog book. Most everything you could wish to know is included in this book...the history of the dog, it's personality traits, gait diagrams, obstacle track training (!), and famous past show dogs. Plenty of references for further reading, pictures, and some weblinks. The most impressive thing for me was the pain the author goes through to make sure you know what you're getting into purchasing a Min Pin. The breed is high maintenance and very high strung. A cherished pet, but comparable to a toddler who never grows up. It is an important fact. My Min Pin is a rescue from a family that merely felt the breed was 'cute.' This is an excellent book for those who already own, but should be required for those considering a first-time Min Pin.

5 comments about Shih Tzu.
- ...I had it sent to my mom who is a first time owner of a Shih Tzu. She called when it arrived and did nothing but "praise" the condition and it's content's. The book give's an overall coverage of the Shih Tzu breed. It cover's everything from the new puppy to grooming your adult Shih Tzu. This is a perfect book for anyone who own's the breed.
- This book is really great, with nice pictures. I especially enjoyed the history and background detailed on these wonderful dogs. Just looking at the pictures makes me want to go out and get another puppy. The plastic sleeve (Buckram-reinforced Library Binding) is really a nice touch.
- I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was unable to put it down, from the minute it arrived, til finished. The detail was magnificent, answering all my questions and more. There are almost 200 colour photos, making the book a delight to read. Easy to find oneself ohhhhing and ahhhhing over the shih tzus photographed in this book!
Also many photos of recommended and available products, to help you in most situations of need. I found this book to be a valuable reference book of knowledge and a great aid to me, before and once my puppy arrived. Great reading
- I was disappointed in this book. The section on breeding is very good but the book seems to be filled with ads for products. That is not why I buy a book. If I wanted products for my dog, I would go shopping at pets.com. Compared to the "Official Book of Shih Tzu," "Shih Tzu" is not up to par.
- This book is incredible! (I'm holding the book in my hands as I type and this is the actual contents) It covers ORIGINS, PERSONALITY AND TEMPERMENT, THE BREED STANDARD, CARE FOR THE NEW SHIH TZU PUPPY, OBEDIANCE TRAINING, BREEDING, CARE OF MOTHER AND FAMILY, GENERAL HEALTH CARE, DOG SHOW COMPETITION, BUILDING A KENNEL AND RUNS, GROOMING! Look, I'm not even envolved with this breed...(My breed is Rhodesian Ridgebacks)and I still found this book to be very informative!
I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS BOOK!
