4 comments about Find Out About Ferrets: The Complete Guide to Turning Your Ferret Into the Happiest, Best-Behaved and Healthiest Pet in the World!.
- Hello I ordered this book before I got a ferret and we read the whole book but the ferret still stinks and the book said they knew of great solutions to Ferret problems in the house. So the most important thing did not work and now we are stuck with a ferret! Most of her other things did not work either! So the book was not that great, sorry!
- Not just a training manual, but a guide to understanding the psychology of your fert, so you have a closer relationship. This book uses the new positive training methods popular in the dog training field over the past few years and applies them to ferrets. And I can tell you, it works! My ferret is very well behaved and has become a full-fledged member of our family.
- Easy to read and succinct . Also, had valuable information without a lot of fluff. An excellent read, thanks.
- This magazine was okay. It really didn't tell a ferret owner anything new. Might be good for a newbie owner. Ferrets for Dummies has more information.

1 comments about Salamanders and Newts As a New Pet.
- This book is ideal for the salamander or newt neophyte-anyone who is just starting to keep these slimy but endearing critters as pets. Written by an author with dozens of pet books to his name, and published by T.F.H. Publications, one of the world's largest publishers of pet books, this slim volume covers all major topics that the would-be salamander and newt owner needs to know. It discusses the natural history of newts and salamanders, specifics on how to house them safely, what they eat and how and where to find or buy it, hygiene and health issues, reproduction, and more. The book also includes color photographs of a variety of salamanders and newts from around the world, including all major families and species found in the United States. Some of the photographs are startling; picture a tiger salamander eating a field mouse, for example. The book also includes several pages about the axolotl, a formerly exotic species that has become one of the most popular amphibian pets. This book is a great buy for the price, and is perfectly adequate for the beginner, although it may not do for the serious salamander breeder. Pick up this inexpensive volume before you even THINK about picking up that spotted thing that's crawling around under the log.

3 comments about Doggy Daycare: Simple Solutions Series (Simple Solutions (Irvine, Calif.).).
- This book is very basic and simple. A kindergarden student could perhaps benefit from it. Most of the information in this book is basic common sense. I was very disapointed with the size of it (a very short read with large print) and couldn't beleive I actually paid money for it! Do not buy.
- While the book was easy to read, it contained no more information than a free website about how to care for your dog when you are away from home.
- Great Book, I received it quickly and in mint condition.

5 comments about A-Z of Tropical Fish Diseases and Health Problems.
- Is an excellent book for a quick reference and for starting a fish keeper hobby.
- I wish that I had this book to read before I started my freshwater tank. It is amazing how difficult it is to find good and reliable source of information. This book covers just about everything. Detail is great - it is very comprehensive about the diseases and treatments, and what's even more important - Causes. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in keeping their fish healthy and stress-free.
- This little book is actually a gem. It covers a variety of fish illnesses with an introduction that addresses standard care. Unfortunately, some of the medications that it recommends are difficult to relate to the American market, as it was written in the UK. That, and perhaps the lack of more photographs, are the only two complaints that I have. Overall, I recommend this book for the beginner and the professional!
- One of the best books I purchased. Although I really hate to use it (means fish are sick) it is very informative. In fact, I had more information than my local pet store.
Good luck finding some of the cures.... some can be very difficult. Overall great reading!
- This book should be required reading for anyone setting up an aquarium for the first time because the author carefully explains how to create the type of environment that will keep your fish healthy.
I needed the book to determine the cause of sickness that was killing my fish. I was able to determine the cause, disease, and solution to my problem in twenty minutes. I learned more about fish and aquariums from this book in one reading than I had picked up from friends and fish store owners in three years. I highly recommend this book to anyone with an aquarium problem.

5 comments about Getting Lucky: How One Special Dog Found Love and a Second Chance at Angel's Gate.
- i actually bought this book for my wifes birthday. it was an idea from my mom, since she found out how big an animal lover my wife (and I) are. i started to read the first chapter before i wrapped it up, and knew right away it would be a tear jerker. all in all, i bought this book because a portion of the proceeds go to Angels Gate. that is terrific for lots of animals out there, and my wife loved the idea of giving something back. if you even like animals, you should get this book. i pray every day now that more people in the world will follow Susan Marino's idea.
- Once you open the book, you can't put it down. My husband picked it up to
read the first couple of pages and did not put it down till he was done.
I did the same. Since I did some volunteer work at Angel's Gate during the summer, I was really able to connect with some of the animals and was able to see how much they are loved and cared for.
- This book is one that has to be read just to see what people go through when they lose a pet. I never thought I would be the one that was so attached to a pet. But I did for 13 years. Then when it was time. I made sure everything was is place for a pet funeral and made a great headstone for him. He was a loyal friend and I miss him dearly. I know that there are Angels Gates in heaven.
- Getting Lucky is for all of us who share our hearts and lives with our animals. This book will make you laugh and cry, sometimes both at once. Beautifully written, with humor, love and sadness that just pulls at your heart. You won't be able to put it down. Angel's Gate is truly a place where "Angels" go to be loved and let go. I dedicate this review to my own angel, Jakob M. who passed on only 1 year ago. I'm grateful that places like Angel's Gate exist and that there are people out there who know just how special these creatures are.
- This book is awesome! I recently lost my beloved Black Lab, Molson, who was 11 years old. I felt like I was there with all the pets in this book. I wish I lived near Angel's Gate... I would be there to volunteer in a minute! How wonderful these people are to take on such a heartfelt approach to helping these precious animals. I found myself smiling from ear to ear throughout the whole story! A must for all animal lovers to read!

5 comments about Borzoi (Comprehensive Owner's Guide).
- "The Complete Borzoi" by Lorraine Groshans and any of the BCOA publications are much better than this book. This book is very basic and is for the rank beginner. It is a fun read and a good start, but hopefully anyone interested in this wonderful breed will also read more. If you are looking for veterinary medical info that is professional in nature, you can try the Veterinary 5 Minute Consult. This is for the very serious dog enthusiast.
- I think this book is very good. I like the history of the dog's domestication, and I especially like how the Borzoi was developed in Russia.
When we were children back in the 1950's our parents and grandparents drummed into us to hate Communists. Of course, we went along with the instructions because we were children. By the time I got to college, in political science I was taught that Communism was just another form of political structure.
The poignant account in this book about the woman who had her hired man take the remaining noble Borzoi to be killed before the Bolshevics got to them gave me the real reason for hating them. The Bolshevics must have been totally useless persons if they slaughtered Borzoi when looting country estates of the nobles...
- This is an excellent book for someone looking to get into the Borzoi showing commuinity. Not for someone who just wants a pet Borzoi or for someone who already knows a lot about Borzoi (unless you want to do a bit of english pedigree research). I'm just getting into showing Borzoi and I found the book very informitive.
This book goes into a fair ammount of detail on conformation, bloodlines, breeding, showing, and genetics. I did happen to find the photo-manipulated pictures a bit of an annoyance though.
"The Complete Borzoi" by Lorraine Groshans (a fairly difficult book to find) and any of the BCOA publications are much better than this book. But, it's worth reading.
- I found this book full of useful practical advice and knowledge. I am new to this beautiful breed and use this book on a daily basis. A serious book but sprinkled with little gems of humour. Loved it.
- I was amazed at the lack of knowledge expressed by the writer of this book. Down to things like according to the book a borzoi has hare feet at the front and cat feet at the back.......only if your dog is walking backwards would that be true! I'm surprised this got published.

3 comments about All About My Dog.
- This is a great book! I have two. One for my German Shepherd and one for my Jack Russell. I love that you can start it any year of their life too. If you have an older dog or a puppy it's great and you will use it all there life.
- I bought this book around Christmas because my dog only had a few months left to live. Now that he's gone, I truly feel this was one of the best things I've ever purchased. This will be a wonderful keepsake for the rest of my life. There is even a page where you can insert your dog's paw print. (Hint: use a rubber-stamp ink pad to do this.) Thanks to the author for creating this!
- This is a wonderful way to document the special bond between you and your dog. Makes you laugh and cry thinking about the silly little quirks that make him or her so special in your life. Anyone who is a true dog lover would love this book!!
