- Excellent source for people considering purchasing or adopting a dog. Though the book covers only the basics, it provides a solid foundation from which to begin.

1 comments about Raising Animals by the Moon: Practical Advice on Breeding, Birthing, Weaning, and Raising Animals in Harmony with Nature.
- For those who have a genuine respect for the law of nature, this book will be a welcome friend. You will empowered with a strong sense of the balance and rhythym of the earth and it's inhabitants. This book equips you with the inspiration and knowledge to forge into the largely neglected synergy of seasonal cycles and animal well-being.

5 comments about Is Your Cat Crazy Solutions from the Casebook of a Cat Therapist.
- A fellow cat-lover friend gave me this book about a year ago, and I just picked it up and read it recently. As background, we have three cats (just got our third one 10 days ago) and I have grown up with cats ever since I was a child. I love cats (even worked for a feline non-profit agency). I also have a psychology and social work background. I just say this to emphasize that I'm not a novice to cats, nor to behaviorism.
I really liked this book. It was very well-written (easy to read, down-to-earth, conversational style) and explained a lot of cat behavior, including solutions for behavior owners found problematic.
My cats don't have any behavior problems and I still read this cover-to-cover. I highly recommend this book.
p.s. Another POV: My husband, also a cat-lover, but not nearly as avid as I, started reading this book. About half-way through, he lost interest, saying it was repetitive.
- The author spends lots of time writing about details that are great for short stories, but not for "how to" books. Finally at the end of a chapter he'll give summary advice that is vague and really not helpful. For example: ...so make sure you litter box is in a place that doesn't upset the cat.... Duh.... If you are really bored and want to read details about dysfuncional cat owner and the guy who comes in and moves the feeding dish to make it all better, then this is THE BOOK for you!
- My problem with "Is Your Cat Crazy" is that its a much thicker book than it needs to be. What information is there is good, but we get case after case of the same problems with the same solution. Probably 75% of the book is about litter box problems. There's one chapter devoted to the topic, and its a good chapter, but then virtually every other cat he encounters has litter box problems and he explains, again and again ad nauseum, what he did to solve them.
Aside from litter boxes issues, his advice is this: don't use physical punishment of any kind, distract the cat from bad behavior by throwing a toy, and administer anti-anxiety medicine or sedatives until the cat improves. If your cat is using his/her litter box, I just saved you $10.
- Had this book recommended to me when I inherited someone else's problem cat who refused to go in the box.
This book explained how the kitty brain works! I was able to watch and observe my kitty, get inside her head, and give her a box she would go in! You must supply your own patience of course!
- I am totally amazed by this book.
every page is so full of useful information. I didn't expect the book to be this much useful. It's so easy to read, fun, and enjoyable. If only possible, I would give 5 million stars to this book.

2 comments about The Illustrated Veterinary Guide.
- This book is great for veterinary students as well as anyone with animals. Very informative and easy to understand. First Aid section in back! I loved this book, it even told me the right way to hold my parakeet.
- This indispensable aid for caretakers and owners of small animals is a miniature encyclopedia chock full of facts, advice, and instruction on the care and feeding of dogs, cats, birds, and other pets. With chapters on everything from proper housing and daily nurturing of your pets, to emergency medicine and disease symptoms, this book has a section for just about everything you may encounter in pet ownership and animal care. The book even covers pets that many folks won't take to a vet -- rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, and reptiles. If you learn even one thing from the book that avoids a costly veterinary visit, the book has already paid for itself. This guide is especially helpful for people with more than one type of animal -- for instance, I have cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, and rats. Instead of shelling out mega-bucks for 5 separate books, I was able to locate all the information I need in a single book. While most pet owners won't read the entire book at the time of purchase, that's one way to approach the wealth of information it offers. On the other hand, it's a terrific manual to have on hand, just in case, for the times when you'll need it. Much like a home first aid kit, this is a tool all pet owners should have in their homes.

2 comments about The Iguana: An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet.
- I agree completely with Harmony's review of this book. I recently purchased it at a pet store and returned it within an hour of buying it. The information is outdated and inaccurate. James Hatfield'd "Green Iguana-The Ultimate Owner's Manual" is superior by far, purchase this instead.
- You should read this, book. I checked it out from the liebrary first, and then like a month later I bought the book cuase I thought it was great. It showed me how to take care of an iguana. And a little of what to exspicke. I learend some pounter`s. And it`s dieate. I liked the book. I highly recomend it. To some one that want`s to get an iguana. It should be the were first book you buy, for your iguana book collection. It`s my very first book for my iguana book collection. and it should be your`s too. Buy it.

5 comments about General Care and Maintenance of Bearded Dragons (The Herpetocultural Library Series).
- what do you expect...this book was written by a man who breeds bearded dragons and it is a book about bearded dragons. It is a wonderful book and tells you everything you need to know about keeping a bearded dragon whether you are breeding them or not. I personally own a 1 year old dragon, and this has been like the bible to me. Whenever something is wrong i consult this book and it will always have the answer you need. All the other books are written by herpotologists who have never actually owned, bred, or loved a bearded dragon. This book is amazingly helpful and comes from a person who knows what he is doing. I would recommend it to anyone who is planning on owning and loving a bearded dragon.
- I don't like this book at all, the authors only writes about keeping the bearded dragons in big outdoor vivariums, and not about having just 1-3 bearded dragons as pets.
Very little information about feeding, housing and everything you really want to know. The authors also doesn't seem to think about the bearded dragons as pets, to cuddle with and have fun with, but only as something you can breed. I almonst never read or look in this book, and I regret that I bought it. I rekommend Liz Palikas book "Your Bearded Dragon's Life" and the book "The guide to a owning a BD" by David Zoffer and Tom Mazorlig instead!
- This is a very through book on the care and maintenance of Bearded Dragons. It is excellent for the beginer lizard keeper. I highly recommend this book if you want to take good care of your Bearded Dragon(s).It contains information on their diet, vivarium design, and other very useful information. It is one of the most reliable reptile books I have read.
- This book is amazing!! I bought it about two weeks before my parents bought me a bearded dragon. It told me everything i need to know. It tells you everything about making terrariums and what to feed them. It also has sections on breeding and general information on the different species. This is a must buy if you are planning to raise a bearded dragon.
- I bought this book when my parents bought me a baby bearded dragon. this has everything you need to know about raising dragons. it tells you all the feeding instructions and it also has an extensive list of diseases and ailments and there respective symptoms. it tells you all about how to create a good terrarium. it also has information on breeding and overall care of the dragons. this is an amazing book and i would recommend it to anyone that is looking to buy a bearded dragon.

4 comments about Creating a Peaceable Kingdom: How to Live With More Than One Pet.
- The most useful book around for help in introducing multispecies in the household and enjoying a peaceful animal family. Wonderful advice on scheduling, bonding, cleaning, communication, etc. The rabbit information is up-to-date and accurate. Cynthia Miller knows her stuff!
- This is a great guide on how to introduce any kind of pet into an existing pet household. It gives tips on how to introduce cat to cat, dog to bird, bird to rabbit - you get the idea. I feel this book will help reduce the number of pets relinquished to animal shelters because it will help insure that new pets will be successfully introduced and remain in their new home. The book is very attractive and produced with quality materials. I, who purchase very few books, bought this as a reference book and recommend it highly. Judy Coene of Bugsy's Animal Network
- This book is essential for any multi-pet household. It contains strategies for introducing pets to one another as well as valueable tips for everyday care.
- I really enjoyed Cynthia Miller's book. Living with a houseful of pets myself, I found the book not only helped me with the four listed species (cats, dogs, birds and rabbits), but it helped me with my other pets. This bok was written in a format that is helpful for both the novice and the experienced pet owner. Hats off to Cynthia Miller!
