- I purchased this book based on the editorial review. Calling this book "an indispensable resource for collectors" is misleading. The book is beautiful enough to put on your coffee table but if you are interested in obtaining an informative and helpful text for collecting "fairy lamps" you should look elsewhere. For a book which purports to be a tool for collectors, there was very little (if any) information regarding dating pieces and distinguishing newer pieces from older ones. The history of lighting devices was somewhat informative but there was no mention why the lamps were even given the moniker "fairy lamps!" I was so disappointed that I returned the book. For the price, this book really did not live up to the review...
