1 comments about American Antique Furniture: A Book For Amateurs, Vol. 2.

  1. My sister-in-law has gotten me interested in antiques, something that I never thought would happen. While checking out some books in the library, I came across this one.
Although it was published in 1966 the information in it is still very true and the descriptions of American furniture are very good and should easily help you to identify different pieces.
Author Edgar Miller put over 2,000 illustrations in the book which is a super aid in identifying a piece.
This maybe an old book, but it in itself is a treasure for the antique furniture hunter. You can still purchase it on Amazon and if you are a serious antique hunter you will want this book. I recommend it.

  1. Contains clean line drawings and grubby b&w photos. It is not the most interesting or attractive of Dover's many reprints of mission furniture catalogs. But it is cheap!

3 comments about Golden Oak Furniture.

  1. This book is a rare find. I have never seen a book with so many color photographs depicting numerous examples of American oak furniture. It covers every type of furniture you can imagine. The accompanying text is expertly organized as a narrative as well as a reference text providing descriptions of the furniture supplemented with a glossary of terminology. This is a highly distinguished publication.

  2. This book has helped me immensely in identifying different styles of furniture especially nowadays when there is such a highbred of types. I feel more comfortable rummaging antique shops. However Golden Oak does not necessarily imply American? So I was disappointed in not finding any "Harris Lebus" (England) brand furniture in the book. This book is a keeper and needs to be reviewed periodically to keep the different styles in ones mind. If you have not guessed this is a picture book.

  3. If you are searching for a guide in reference to Golden Oak Furniture, this book supplies it all. It is filled with wonderful color pictures and a large assortment of furniture types. This book has been a time saver for me.

5 comments about TV Lamps: Identification and Value Guide.

  1. Who Knew?! What an easy-to-digest guide to a rare and forgotten art! Not filled with professional jargon and flea market lingo. Perfect for the treasure hunting novice. Santiso's extensive knowledge and collection of such an obscure genre of antique art is a sign of pure genius. Bravo to the Math Teach gone retro art king!

  2. This is an excellent reference book for anyone interested in TV lamps. It's complete, informative, and most helpful, with wonderful pictures. A must-have for collectors!

  3. This was supposed to be a reference book. I found it only to be a book with a collection of pictures and prices. It would have been an excellent book if the author would have identified the lamps.

  4. If you are an avid seeker of bargains and/ or collector of treasures, you need this book! After browsing through this book, I remembered seeing similar lamps at recent antique shows. I was not familiar with the lamps but heard someone comment on their future value. This book was most informative and an easy reference. The photos in the book are excellent.

  5. A handy field guide for quick identification of T.V. Lamps and values with extensive color photographs. A must have for the beginner and serious collector to take to flea markets and auctions.
