5 comments about The Art of Floral Design.
- This book is one we use in our floral design classes and is recommended by our instructor. Has a lot of informative history about floral design as well as extensive overview of designs and the art of putting it all together.
- I purchased this book for a class I'm taking in the fall. It seems
very comprehensive and abundantly illustrated.
- I decided to pursue a career in floral design and after numerous searches and a big expense I found this book and found it to be the bible of floral design! I have quite a collection of books now and this one is by far the best of the best out there! I wish I could've found it first and saved myself a ton of money so I hope this review helps all those people looking for that one book that answers all the questions in floral design and some!!
- I didn't think the book was as good a quality as the listing led me to believe. There's been water damage and there are scribbles on many pages. It works though and was cheaper than buying it in my school bookstore.
- I was happy with the product I received. Although it took a while to ship & for me to receive.

2 comments about Amazing Clay Flowers: Creating Realistic Flowers & Floral Arrangements.
- I also make clay flowers and have another book by the same author.
They are very informative and quite nicely presented. However, I agree with the last post ie: what happened with the color pictures at the last few chapters??? The book has some lovely color photos of finished works and also much of the step by step instructions are also in color...then, everything changes to black and white photos. Could this be a flawed edition or was that the intention of the books designers? Seems very odd to me that 3/4ths of the book would be in color and the last 1/4 in B&W...a bit disappointing.
- I make clay flowers as a hobby and use Miyai's two Clay Art books, as well as this one as references. This book has lots of photos that show step by step how each flower is created. There are some crucial steps missing, but I kind of expected that, since that is the case for Miyai's two books also.
My one question: What the heck happened to colored photos?
The book starts out beautifully with lots of colored photos showing the flowers, arrangements, and steps...only to suddenly have black and white photos for the last 30-some pages. What a let down!

5 comments about Wedding Bouquets: Over 300 Designs for Every Bride.
- This is a very pretty wedding bouquet book. Pictures are colorful with great ideas. This will be an asset for my wedding flower business.
- Exactly what I was looking for and more.
Arrived as described, and in even better condition! BEAUTIFUL book!
I was very happy with the product!!!!
- A good building block for the bride and florist to get ideas of colour schemes and styles the bride might like. I took my copy into to Tafe(Technical and Further Education) and ended up ordering another three copys for fellow students.
- This book has such wonderful colored pictures and each picture is close up so you can see all the beautiful details... This is a must have for anyone having a wedding or even a florist to let their bride look through for ideas...
- Each section of this book is categorized by colors, starting with white, ivory and cream, then yellow, then peach and orange, then red, then pink, then lilac and purple, and finally mixed and unusual. I knew my colors right off the bat but I still was inspired by every page. It's only real flaw is it's size, which once you get it and look through it, doesn't create that much of an issue. Not only does it give you flower ideas but also a variety of ways to create a handle and tie the bouquet. A good book for a bride who is doing all the arranging, like I am, or just brainstorming ideas with her florist.

5 comments about Art of Floral Arranging, The: Learning from the Master Florists at Flower School New York.
- I bought this book for my step mom for her birthday, and before wrapping it I looked through the entire thing. I wanted to keep it for myself! The content is up-to-date and the step-by-step instrections are very clear. I loved how relevant and trend right the featured arrangements were.
- This book provides very detailed step-by-step instructions for many different styles of flower arrangements. I was very surprised to find that all the instructors/designers generously shared their personal techniques and their interpretations of natural beauty of plant and flower materials. Reviewers who found this book not to be very helpful please read more carefully cover-to-cover. I assure you will learn some new and invaluable lessons.
- Eileen Johnson's "The Art of Floral Arranging" is a beautiful book, but definitely not a "how to" guide. I purchased it expecting to see basic floral design techniques that I could use to make gifts and arrangements for my house. But while the photos are gorgeous, the book does not feature the kind of step by step instruction that I'd hoped for. If you want pretty pictures, "The Art of Floral Arranging" is a good choice. But if you're looking for the "how-to's" of flower design, try your local craft store or community college instead!
- This book is beautiful and her school is fabulous. Treat yourself to both! And buy lots of flowers when you create an arrangement...it's the only way to have a lush look, even when the final product is small.
- Exactly what I was looking for and more.
Arrived as described, and in even better condition! BEAUTIFUL book!
I was very happy with the product!!!!

5 comments about Inspirations.
- As the cover says, this is a great book for party design inspiration. Preston Bailey does it again with his over the top party designs.
- The photos are beautiful, but I didn't purchase it for the photos.
I purchased it to discover the use of mechanics to construct the beautiful florals. There is some text about materials used, but very little. Disappointing.
- Garish and over the top almost to the point of vulgarity. Not my taste I prefer cleaner lines and less ostentatiousness.
- Although I think this book is well done, I much preferred his other books.
- I bought this book so I can find ideas for my wedding decoration, it has great and beautiful pictures, but obviously it's impossible to try to imitate Preston Bailey's ideas. I do recommend this book. You can use it afterwards for a coffee table book.

5 comments about The Knot Book of Wedding Flowers.
- I did not recieve this book. The seller said amazon gave the wrong mailing address, but I recieved the other book on the same order. I am out the cost of my shipping and did not recieve my purchase.
- The book is really helpful. It provides you basic information about flowers: names, colours, seasons, price, meaning.... After the first chapter of introduction to flowers, you will come to how to prepare your own wedding floral arrangement. (I am at this part so could not provide any further description about the book but overall I found all what I've read is very interesting and helpful).
The book comes with high quality images printed on high quality paper, so it's very enjoyable. Reading the book doesnt require you to read chapters through chapters; you can just start/stop anywhere you like. It's a good book for people who are interested in flowers and wedding floral arrangement. It's also good to read just for leisure.
- The first part of the book provides a list of favoured wedding flowers (with photos), and it gives a basic summary on their characteristics, seasonal availability and cost. The second part of the book contains a few DIY tips (not a lot) and a small gallery of centerpiece/bouquet designs, grouped by colors and themes.
The information in this book can be helpful for brides-to-be who are unfamiliar with the names of flowers, or what certain flowers look like. I personally think that the design examples are quite simple and unintimidating (ie. not flashy or over the top), and thus this book will be useful for brides who are looking for inspirations along those lines.
I recommend this book as a preliminary reference and it's a good start before meeting with your florist to discuss wedding flowers.
- I didn't find this book very exciting. I looked through it and there's really nothing in it that I can use. I was looking for ideas for my wedding bouquet and I really got NONE.
- If you are looking for some floral tips and arrangement ideas, this book will help you with those ideas. However, if you are looking for an instructional book on how to make arrangements yourself, this book doesn't give enough information on this. (Yes, there is a small section in the book about making them yourself--but does not tell you how to make certain ones shown in the book). I would like a more informational--how-to-make boquet book. I might just have to write one myself!

5 comments about Complete Guide To Flower Arranging (DK Living).
- The book is beautiful and for someone that already knows flower arranging it would serve as good inspiration. I was looking for the photos yes, but also step by step instructions so I could learn basics not become a pro, but just get fundamentals on how to make arrangements and this book didn't provide that. It'll serve as a good coffeetable book and eventually for a yard sale item. The title "Compete Guide to Flower Arranging" is not quite what the content is.
- Thid book is really good. It has a lot of pages with arrangements with dried and live flowers among other things. Almost every page teaches or shows how to make something wonderful using different styles, techniques, and different flowers. You really get your money's worth with this book.
- The item was just as described and the book was just what I was looking for. Shipment was a little slow, but overall I am very satisfied.
- This book was recommend to members of our flower guild. It is a reasonably-priced, handy guide to flower arranging. There are lots of different ideas: foam based, vase, potted plants, large arrangements, posies, boutonnieres, swags and dried arrangements. Each arrangement comes with a specific materials list and complete arrangement directions. I'm fairly new to flower arranging and love this book.
- enjoyed book was very helpful just wished for more information. Seemed a little outdated and reasources limited.

5 comments about The Judith Blacklock's Encyclopaedia of Flower Design.
- I have tried several books on flower design, and this is one of the best. Very understandable, easy to follow and clear. I am a beginner and it has helped me tremendously. Bought it toghether with "A Master Guide to the Art of Floral Design" by Alisa de Jong, and am very happy with both books, they complement each other well. The pictures are wonderful and they help to get your imagination going.
- I ended up returning this book because the content was dated and not relevant to today's arrangements.
- As an art minor, I dabble in flower arranging but would possible consider doing this when I retire from teaching. This book really provides so much information. It is a complete source of information.I recommend it for anyone with any interest along these lines.
- This is a great book for anyone interested in floral design. It is thorough and is appropriate for beginners and professionals alike.
- I am a flower-arranging novice and this book was recommended to me by someone who has run (for a couple of decades) one of the many NAFAS branches dedicated to flower arranging, after I complained that all the flower books from my library basically just had many pretty pictures that didn't really support me in creating good arrangements for myself, based on bunches I could get at the supermarket. I wanted a flower arranging book with principles and theories, a really good teaching book.
I was more than impressed with this one: over two dozen classic and modern design principles for bigger arrangements plus easy-to-follow smaller ideas, examples of show-work, equipment and techniques, how to condition the plant material (vital if you want your arrangement to continue looking good for more than a couple of days), and much more. If you only want one book on flower arranging, this is it. For a collection, this is a must-add or a wonderful starting point.

5 comments about Creative Floral Arranging: How to Decorate with Fresh, Dried & Silk Flowers.
- Twenty four pages fell out, not good.
There was not great dealing with fresh flower arrangements which was disappointing, more silk and dried flowers.
The description of how to arrange was not informative enough for me.
But I am a novice.
Disappointed!!!
- This book covers a wide variety of topics including materials needed to complete a floral project.
- I just received the book today. I love it, since the first moment I started looking at it, I couldn't stop until I saw every page. In my opinion is a beautiful book. I can't wait to start working with all the ideas that It has.
- This book is very detailed and explicit,I would recommend this book to persons interested in floral arrangement.
- The day I received my book in the mail I opened it and began reading as I turned the pages it began to fall apart. All but a few of the pages have come off the binding. The book is in pieces. I would not recommend it to anyone unless you want a book you have to pick up the pieces evey time you want to read it.

5 comments about Creative Wedding Florals You Can Make.
- The product was received in great condition, arrived on time, and was a good addition to my library.
- I needed some help with my daughter's wedding flower arranging. This book was perfect!!! Clear instructions and great photos.
- Most of the designs depicted in this book are truly passé and tacky. There are multiple points wherein the author suggests using silk flowers. Do they even make those anymore?!?! The headpiece she shows looks like something that came out of the children's costume drawer. There is literally a square of craft tulle attached to the back! I could make something more elegant and believable without directions.
The author relies heavily on plastic and foam implements to construct her bouquets, and her shapes and flower choices are positively outdated. If you want your wedding to look like a low-budget 1960s throwback, go ahead and use this book.
On a positive note, there are good instructions for making boutonnieres, although I'd advise leaving out the old-fashioned baby's breath sprigs.
Another plus - you will have a good laugh at the bridal gowns the models are wearing. Wedding day at the FLDS compound!
- I was completely happy with the book I recieved, however I was very unhappy with the sender. I ordered the book 05/15 and was suppose to recieve it by 06/09 (that's still too long to wait for a book); after sending emails to the sender I finally recieved the book 06/15!
- This book was quite dissapointing. It was extremely old fashioned. Most of the bouquet techniques used in this book were discontinued by professional florists. And out of the 125 pages only 4 are dedicated to hand-tied bouquets. Everything else is basically foam bouquet holders.
Also, the flowers used are what was considered hip in the 70's. Lots of roses and carnations, lots and LOTS of baby's breath and fillers. The flower glossary of "popular wedding flowers" doesn't even include calla lilies or hydrangeas.
On the upside, it does contain detailed instructions.
