1. I was extremely pleased by this book...another runaway sucess and a great helping hand for beginners as well as experts in this field. I started with Dick Mills when I was a kid. Now, my hobby has grown to 40 tanks...and Dick Mills uses his fluent and simple language...excellent pictures..as well as frank and to the point information, helpful and informative pictures as well as diagrams to Illustrate this challenging hobby or Marine fish keeping. I find it a very helpful guide...unlike other guides which give a host of useless pictures and information.It is a must companion in ur library if u want to see keep ur aquarium in good condition as well as have a simple yet in depth knowledge of the dos and donts of this hobby . Ill recommend it to beginners as well as hobbyists.Especially uselful are the topics on diseases and their treatment, quarantine, aquarium set up. Even the individual profile of fish..their compatibility, and feeding habit, are very useful. I am buying more copies to gift them to fellow aquarists. 1. This book is nicely devided into sections pertaining the different fish families. Information is given on general husbandry, feeding and also breeding. It covers the most commonly available fishes. Another nice feature for the beginning hobbyist of this book is (IMHO) the fact that it consistently gives you the scientific name followed by the common name. The informative text is lined with nice pictures. I can recommend this book to anyone who is starting out in the hobby. For the more advanced hobbyist it is a "nice thing to have" (if you are like me are always expanding your fish library :-)) but does not add much to the information you probably already have in other publications. The main reason I bought it is because it is the first publication I found that contained a picture of Hypancistrus zebra eventhough the information about this fish is minimal at best and didn't teach me anything I didn't already know.

1. All of the Aqualog books are excellent value, although they are not particularly cheap. They are full to the brim with first class colour photographs and to reproduce these in a book is an expensive process. Whether they are about many of the different beautiful fishes now coming into the aquarist trade or in this case specifically the coldwater species Goldfish which are among the most beautiful coldwater fishes. They are first class for identifying that fish that you have had for some time, but have not been able to put a name to.
   
   This is a really beautiful book with some stunning photographs and for anyone interested in Goldfish in particular and fish-keeping in general it is a book to be treasured.
