1. This book is quite old and looks that too but it's ok anyway and might be the best book available about rasboras. Book is not very ample but enough. It shows many rare rasbora species too that you can't find in many books.

1. In setting up my first saltwater aquarium, I was looking for a more in depth book. I was rather disappointed as all the information contained within, I had already read about with simple online searches and pamphlets from the pet store. It does have a comprehensive fish guide which is 3/4 of the book if you are interested in finding out what fish will live well together.



2. This book is the best I've found regarding saltwater aquariums. I think it's great not just for beginners but also for people like me who have started a tank some time ago and can't get the fish to last very long. It included just about everything I needed to know to get started but was very easy to read as it sticks to the basics without overloading you with a bunch of technical marine biology talk like some of the other books I've seen. Great in depth analysis of the types of saltwater fish. The book's information on water temperature was something I had never heard before and that alone was worth the price in my case. As they say in the book some of their ideas definitely go against what you normally hear in pet stores and other books so just keep that in mind. But I used to not be able to keep fish like Tangs alive in my tank for any length of time until I tried some of their new ideas. My tank is now in great shape after reading this, great book!

1. I have seven other books on pond,waterfall and stream building, and I found this one to have some of the best pictures, written instructions and techniques. It's not overly detailed, and it makes a good book for someone who would like an overview of what should be done if you want to construct your own water feature.



2. This book is well-arranged and comprehensive. It's essentially a beginner's book - the language and illustrations could help even a 9-year old get started. Advice on construction, flora and wildlife it can sustain and maintenance makes planning a water garden or pond easy. This book is cheaper than other books in the same subject category. I used another book - How to Build Ponds and Waterfalls : The Complete Guide by Reid as much as I used this one while building my backyard pond.

1. Dr. Herbert Axelrod continues to pass on his aquatic prowess in this book for coral enthusiasts. Novice reefkeepers should definitely invest in this book as it is very easy to read and understand. Experienced reefkeepers would even profit from having this book in their aquatic library for reference at any time, as it is thorough in all the typically kept hard and soft corals. Each coral is given its own color-coded review for difficulty of keeping and put into one of three catagories, green for beginners, yellow for experienced keepers of corals, and red for those who consider themselves experts. On the whole this is a great reference for anyone who is considering keeping corals, either for the first time or continuing to keep them after years of experience.



2. Excellent photos and good guide for beginners in picking corals...Better than some kid at the local fish store!!!

Somewhat disorganized and very misleading,due for the most part because its outdated.It categorizes as hard to keep most of the SPS corals that are common to the hobby today.The pictures aren't that great and I'm still searching for the "care & breeding" section that the book's title refers to.This book is truly a waste of money!
