2 comments about Tactical Small Arms Of The 21st Century: A Complete Guide to Small Arms From Around the World.
- Questo libro è utile per riconoscere un' arma quando viene vista in un documentario o in un film, le descrizioni sono un po' sintetiche e le foto di non grande qualità. Comunque considerato il prezzo di Amazon, per noi italiani si può acquistare...
- This book contains some very useful and interesting information about current tactival small arms. However, it does have some significant flaws. This book is black and white but the photos are not good. Many photos (about 40%) in this book are unclear. I had saw these photos in internet. I think that these photos are just direct copies from internet. These photos are just printed by poor computer printer and no professional treatment.
Many books about small arm are in my collection, but this one is out. I wish it will be better in next edition.

3 comments about Knives 2006.
- I have every edition of the "KNIVES" annuals since the first one came out in 1980. As a knifemaker and collector I like to keep up with the state-of-the art knives that these amazing makers present in this book. The photos are plentiful and the paper quality of these softcover books has greatly improved since editor Joe Kertzman has taken over the helm. If you like knives in all their glory, then all of these books are highly recommended. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel that Mr. Kertzman gets a little "ornate" in some of his descriptions. Let the knives speak for themselves, Joe. Hee hee.
- Not the book I wanted. I wanted a book listing Case and Buck knives values. My mistake.
- I decided to buy this book basing on the pictures of the knives inside. Once received, the pictures are worth more than the price I have paid for. Details with each knife is the extra bonus to the owner. Very good especially for custom knife collectors, and myself as a trader on ebay's -unclevit- listing store. I will buy more from this writer, perhaps every year. Recommend. Good Value.

2 comments about American Swords and Sword Makers, Vol. II.
- The author has broken new ground on one of the most collected fields of collecting. His intensive research is obvious, and the information you find here is seldom encountered elsewhere.
It is a massive work. The author definitely didn't gloss over the subject, something which is much appreciated in books on militaria these days.
While there are a few photographs, I think the format is such that many more could have been offered without significantly adding to the number of pages, enhancing and braking up the text better. Don't get me wrong, the book is about the information within, but more photographs or illustrations scattered throughout would have made the hours you will want to spend with this book just a bit more visual appealing.
Don't pass this one up if you have any interest in sword collecting what-so-ever!
- The best way to increase the value of a sword that you have in your collection or wish to purchase is to identify it by maker, date and period ownership. American sword makers, and thier products, can be found easily in this book, and their dates of manufacture can often be identified as well. Reference works such as this, with plentiful illustrations, are essential for all collectors.

3 comments about Handguns 2007 (Handguns).
- Handgus 2007
Edited by Ken Ramage
Gun Digest 2007
Edited by Ken Ramage
What can I say?
They don't make them like they used to.
This is not your father's gun digest.
It has been a long time since I bought a Gun Digest but I am about to retire and I want to revive my interest in shooting spoorts. My primary interest is target shooting with handguns.
I expected to catch up on all the new stuff and read dozens of interesting articles and seel all the new models and perhaps some fondly remembered old ones.
Well, they don't make them like they used to.
I was severely disappointed. Only 17 articles total. Many of them historical. The ones that are not historical tend to have long, boring, historical introductions.
The Photography is absolutely beautiful. If you are interested in beautiful pictures of beautiful guns, buy the Gun Digest. If you are looking for information about guns, shooting, or hunting, stick to your regular magaziine subscriptions.
If you are interested in handguns, Handguns 2007 is worth the money but just barely. It does not have the slick paper photography but it does have 21 articles. Still a lot of boring historical stuff about how one company morphed into another 75 years ago but a decent amount of real information.
The catalog portion is a disappointment, it is neither organized or comlete. There are photos of guns with no descriptions and descriptions of guns with no photos. There are manufacturers who are not represented at all.
Summary:
If you are interested in handguns, buy Handguns 2007 only.
If you are interested in beautiful pictures of guns, buy the Gun Digest 2007.
If you haven't seen one on quite a while be prepared for a disapointment.
- This is an incomplete list of available guns in 2001. It also has guns listed that are no longer available. The pictures do not match up to the descriptions. There is a lot of useless information ie. air guns, lists of books about guns etc. I was disapointed with this book. I expected to see more information and reviews on available models. Did not even list Khar's 9MM, Guns and Ammo's Magazine Handgun of the Year winner in the book anywhere.
- It plays second fiddle to the Ken Ramage's other more comprehensive book on all guns- Gun Digest 2001. It basically features a broad selection of popular handguns... specs, data, pictures, etc. I'd recommend getting the full Gun Digest 2001 instead unless your love for firearms is reserved exclusively for handguns.

1 comments about The Gun Digest Book of Guns for Personal Defense: Arms&Accessories For Self-Defense.
- Much of the book is really a catalog of gun models. The actual text is limited. What is written is well done and informative.

1 comments about The Art of the Gunsmithing: The Shotgun.
- An interesting book on primarily English Best Quality shotguns.
While not heavy on How To, it explains the the level of expertise
and the amount of handwork involved in making Best Guns.
For Americans, it provides in-depth exposure to the English
terms for gun parts and components.
If you're interested in English shotguns, this is an entertaining read.
