1. I found the information inaccurate (production dates for Mdl 71 for instance) and incomplete. I can get more accurate info online. However, the book does make a fine pad for vise jaws in my shop.



2. To anyone who collects rifles and shotguns, this guide is very useful. Aside from the wealth of knowledge it offers, the size is great - allowing you to carry it with you when you need to reference something!!

1. This book is for those who want to know the origin of the Henry rifle. It contains a lot of specific detail regarding specific Henry rifles. It is, however, also interesting to read about the difficulty selling the Henry to the military, considering the design's advantages were outstanding. The Henry continues to be produced today as an exceedingly popular rimfire and large bore rifle.
   
   Civil War buffs will also enjoy reading of the Henry's part in that war and speculating as to the effect more widespread use of the Henry repeater would have had.

3. This is an excellant book for firearms research and collecting, especially for those who are new to this type of collecting.



4. This is the one to own if you need to know what guns are worth. I collect guns that are in date, no antiques or just old, and this book shows me what I need to know about them. Prices seem to as close as possible to what the market is trying to get for them. All the firearms I needed to know about were in here with picture as well as description. I have the Shooters Bible and The Gun Trader which are good but not as much info as Standard Catalog of Firearms.



5. really good facts and a lot of new information in this one. Has all the standard weapons , plus some that are really rare. Perfect for all collectors like myself. Highly recomment this one.

1. Great historical detail. McIntosh at his best. Probably more information
   than anyone would ever need to know about one of Americas' great icon shotgun builders of the last century.



2. Mr. McIntosh knows his guns. This book contains everything one would want to know about Ansley Fox's masterpieces, and some more. Where the author comes short is the non-gun-related subjects. For example, claiming that Russia went to war with Serbia in WW1,when they were on the same side: describing the Fox car engine as a V-6, when it was an in-line 6, as it is clearly shown in illustrations, incidentally; and referring to an early A. H. Fox patent on "Car Brakes" as automobile-related, when it is, in fact, an invention for a railway vehicle component. Minor points, perhaps, and certainly nothing to do with the excellent description of the "finest guns in the world".



3. Concise and pleasing to read, this book is a colorful account of the life and guns of Ansley H. Fox. McIntosh obviously spent many hours of research, tracking down important details which illustrate what drove Fox to create "The finest gun in the world". These details are woven together to provide an informative resource for research and an interesting read for the double gun enthusiast. Included are original sketches of patented designs, technical expertise and insight, beautiful color photographs, and an easy to follow paper trail to help identify an antique Fox.



4. As an owner of a Fox, I have been unable to find any information that would provide a background on the company, as well as the different models produced. This book will give you that and much more, including great info on Ansley Fox and his other contributions to the auto industry, etc. The book is great reading.
