1. In this book you can find the images from the fashion magazines like Vogue (USA & Italian) and W magazine. He has photographed Milla Jovovitch, Amber Valetta, Shalom Harlow, Karen Elson, Esther Canadas and husband Mark van der Loo and many more. It's a very nice book, but if you have saved your old copies of the magazines mentioned above, you allready own the book!



2. Lindbergh is one of the best photographers in the world. all his books are fabulous.



3. I enjoy this collection of Lindbergh's most recent work because of its reality-based imagery, as opposed to plastic fashion photography being done now. I have each of his books and follow the evolution of his work. Here, it seems to have been stripped of as much excess artifice as possible. He eschews the "rules" governing much of today's celebrity-driven fashion imagery. The pictures exude glamour while suggesting a reality and vulnerability of their subjects. I appreciate this book as a telling document of our present time (1990s), and think it is collector-quality.

1. I found this book on sale in a New Jersey mall. It doesn't belong on a sale rack! What a funny and inspiring book. It got me back taking pictures after a too-long hiatus. Highly recommended for anyone with a quirky sense of humor.

3. While taking a photography course at my school, I stumbled across this book in the bookstore. The idea of taking a series of photos of 100 boots and then mailing them as postcards appealed to me immensely, even though i was not alive at the time of of the postcards. Not only do the 100 boots tell a story through pictures, the photos themselves are wonderful works of art. Definitely buy this book.



4. I remember Antin's postcards and am so thrilled to see them collected in book form! Her work was considered revolutionary at the time, and it's a great pleasure to own such an elegant reproduction of the entire series.

1. In 1994 celebrity photographer Len Prince began an ambitious project of photographing contemporary stars in costumes and settings that evoked the "golden" era of Hollywood. Using a Deardorff 8x10 and lighting techniques that pay homage to George Hurrell, he produced a magnificent collection of images which include Drew Barrymore, Jack Lemmon, Patrick Stewart and Martin Sheen. To say Prince's images are breathtaking would be nothing short of an understatement.

   Not to be missed is Prince's comments on some of the sittings. My favorite being his sitting with "Miss Piggy," which includes the incident with the "buffet" and how he had to sustain himself through the afternoon shooting on a single grape.

   The book introduction is by writer Dominick Dunne and is alone worth the price of the volume. In presenting Prince's work he recounts a time long gone when style was in vogue and Hollywood was the home of STARS.




2. Truly beautiful pictures. It's almost a puzzle trying to figure out who they are. He takes people like Drew Barrymore and Jack Lemmon and turns them into glamourous, untouchable stars to be worshipped of the 30s and 40s. He has put stars back in the time when they were STARS. The intro by Dunne is heart warming and sad as he remembers the big movie era.

1. This is a wonderful book for both the sewer & the non-sewer alike. The clothing designs are stunning & inspirational, if only to look at. Most are quite colorful, imaginative & have their own unique style. Basic pattern diagrams are included as well as detailed instructions for stitching & piecing. Patterns include ponchos, kimonos, coats, capes, skirts, shirts & accessories such as purses & belts to name a few. The book is packed with instructions for embellishments including applique, embroidery, quilting, & painting. Adding pleats, gathers & ruffles is also covered. Caring for fabrics is included as well. The book is full-color on glossy stock. There are numerous photographs of the clothing, all are gorgeous & true works of art. I fell in love with "Magic Kimono" decorated with a metallic sun & moon design.
